I love that he wasn't a complete A-hole to begin with, he is just doing his job and he actually feel Jacob's situation and willing to talk for the sake of getting things done in a civil manner much like irl. He only trash Jacob around when the place turn hell and he is under stress which is understandable in some extend. The writer & story teller did a great job here.

Whatever this infection is, it behaves more like some sort of terraforming/bioforming agent.

Its not hard at all as an overall game BUT if you are going for 100% trophy completion. Callisto Protocol is way harder than Dead Space remake. In Dead space remake for the platinum trophy if you are playing the impossible mode play through you can actually time out if you die and reload the game and continue on the progress as long as you save as you go. In Callisto protocol you cannot do this if you are playing the Contagion mode expansion trophy while beating the game without dying because once you die the death animation starts thus instantly locking you out of completion where as Dead Space doesn’t do this infinitely making Callisto Protocols play through immensely more pressurising for the gamer and easily a more prone mistake making situation making it easier and likelier to die by anything in the game knowing you generally only have one shot to get the gold trophy. Like Dead space you can still beat it on that playthrough because there are two contagion mode trophies, but you won’t get the other for beating it without dying if you die once

Confusing bit about Ferris is that at the very end scene you see him pops out from nowhere for jumpscare and he somehow regained his mutated form after his final mutilated figures.
I personally like to think that he hulked out during the fight due to damage or stress and then shed the hulk form after his defeat when he was knocked out. Or maybe the infection brought him back to life. Either way, maybe we can get more Ferris in the future. 😂😂😂

Nah, he got infected when Jacob released the bios on him. Literally the entire "Callisto Protocol" was a way to get another "Alpha" because the first one from the colony died. It just so happened that the Alpha ended up being Ferris, probably because of his anger and sheer will to live which mutated the virus like the original Patient Zero.
This dude is basically a manifestation when star wars is in a resident-evil atmosphere. He can be tyrannical and non-melancholic charachter which is unlike any tyrants from RE franchise, this one looks dope. Gonna give this video game the best reviews after all

They do explain it. The warden was planning on releasing the specimens that night. So Jacob was never going to be able to leave, as to why they were told to capture them it's just him trying to preemptively cover his tracks. Jacob was hauling his illegal creatures around.
Love the delivery on that line at the airlock. "There's always... a PRIIIIIICE--topay." You really feel the insanity and the inhumanness starting to creep over this guy. I wish they had leaned more into that--bit of a disservice to his performance to have him become "Big Faceless Dude Guy Enemy #1,000".
@THAT GUY In the moment at the airlock, you're genuinely afraid of what Ferris is *becoming.* It's really spooky--to have him then show up an hour or so later going "RAAA! RAAA! RAAA!" as essentially a Space Marine is a real "okay... I guess" moment.

I think if that were the answer it would be a very "well whatever, just because" kind of solution.

I can’t be the only one who thinks this game was made to see if the creators can find the mistakes they made in this game, and not repeat them in the dead space remake.
So I see a lot of people bringing up Sam’s work in Star Wars and Days Gone (the later being criminally underrated) but I think his best VO work was in the Star Trek Online MMO when the original actor for the Klingon monk at Boreth could not reprise the role and recommended Sam to play Tenavik.
Ferris is played by Sam Witwer, who played Starkiller in Star Wars, played Darth Maul. And he played the main character in Days Gone.

I wish they did more with this character, we should’ve seen at least 2 days of Jacob’s time at black iron before the outbreak starts. The line in the trailer “I’m just trying to give you a a chance at rebirth” never appears anywhere else.

Like, he literally has the same baby-hand fingers like Tetsuo did when the transformed.
I can’t be the only one who thinks this game was made to see if the creators can find the mistakes they made in this game, and not repeat them in the dead space remake.
Callisto Protocol and Dead Space Remake were made by two different dev teams...

So I see a lot of people bringing up Sam’s work in Star Wars and Days Gone (the later being criminally underrated) but I think his best VO work was in the Star Trek Online MMO when the original actor for the Klingon monk at Boreth could not reprise the role and recommended Sam to play Tenavik.
This game reminds me of call of duty advanced warfare and resident evil combined
