ive never heard of this game before so im thinking “oh hey this is probably another 1930s detective game like fallen aces” and then the blood pumper appeared out of fucking nowhere and i made a jerma sound in response
There's literally a Fallen Aces reference 5 seconds after booting up the first game, story is lackluster but the games are quite good, 1 plays more like your average boomer shooter and 2 is slower paced.

I love some of the weapons are clearly man made using the closest thing to reverse engineered Eldritch biotech. The Mortar and Grasper are clear examples as they clearly have human tech components as a base. The Obelisk may be purely human though and is simply an ancient arcane weapon created by some cult back then. Then the pure Eldritch arsenal is straight up living creatures like the Eternal Fish and the Abyssal Shadow.
I like how the Verminator at 2:47 is a huge reference to the "Elder things" from "At the mountains of madness". Like look at that starfish with wings shape!

I love that some of the weapons actually have audio cues to when they're about to run out, or when they do run out, of ammo. And all of the reload animations are SO creative! I'm not a fan of shooter games, but I sure as hell can admire this game from afar

I love how the Obelisk looks and the animations! It looks like some magic artifact thing you use magic to operate and fire, with each little wiggle thing you do to shift all the floating bits and bobs back into proper place/positioning! Plus the reload really sells it to me where after replacing the ball you do some magic rune thing to tell the gun it's got ammo now and to wake tf up it's time to shoot
These all look so damn good, I especially like how there are small uncanny lovecraftian elements even in the "normal" guns. First games' already looked good, these are a step up.
Thhe main problem with fmf2 that i seemed to notice on this video is that the guns have no punchy sfx and fx to symbolize its shooting something cause it looks like its shooting nothing,not even shells
I would LOVE to see how people would make 3D interpretations/recreations of these guns in a realistic model way, like that Eldritch Grasper I would be grosed out and LOVE to fucking see in some grotesque way... this stuff is awesome.
Some of those sounds would make fine additions to a dubstep song. I like the concept of guns that aren't purely mechanical in nature, like magic guns or biotech guns.
Idk anything about this game but I have to say it when it's done right. Thx for keeping awesome reload animations and weird weapons alive. I love the style.
I love the bioweapons, but I have to say that my favorite is the Obelisk. The reload felt abstract lol. My favorites among the bioweapons are the Sus Box, Gobbler, Anemone, and Calaber since I like tentacles a lot.
Ah yes. The mysterious box, which effectively is an infinite Sonic Boom from Bioshock. Things get a bit ridiculious if you add the _Personal Space_ passive. The Obelisk is cool as well, but I'm not good enough to make proper use of it. I never noticed how the flowers on the Blood Syphon get... _Fed,_ the longer you use them. That is a neat touch.

Idk maybe it is a reference after all. The animation clearly show that the weapon isn't fully reloaded, and like denoman (correct if i'm wrong i'm not sure), the priest is a little crazy (i think it is the theme of the game).
