@@Iloveyoursmile You have no idea what it's like in these countries for a lot of people. For them to even get 3.5k pounds to pay an agency to smuggle them in is A LOT OF MONEY. They don't get this money by working, it's usually borrowed, land disputes or something that allows them to get this money. It's a one shot opportunity for them to invest all this money into getting into another country and there's no going back because people might be looking for them. I don't agree that what they're doing is legal or allowed, but for your white ass to call them liars is loads of ignorance. Stay ashamed of your statement just there.
I am getting second hand embarrassment for the guy explaining Interactive Business Skills and the officer trying to control his laughter. Things some of the people would do to enter a country illegally.
You’d think that these “shady” individuals who travel and deal with custom agents would *rehearse* their biography and their background information so that when they give paperwork stating they got an “A” in a subject, you’d already know what the subject was all about.
You cannot be a visitor or immigrant and not know the significance of immigration. It makes no sense and is not true. They may pretend they don’t, but they do
this man should be a politician instead of an illegal alien cab driver. He could probably qualify as Corbyns candidate for the position as the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Interactive business skills is the management where the state screws all its working population and gives the money to a fund in Dubai, where this rocket engineer was on a quick visit to his sick brother
A. His accent was so strong, it sounded like cost, not course. B. chef's knives are personal, like a musical instrument, and chef's do take them to cook private meals.
@Nocturnal Flux the accent wasn't strong but I could understand how someone would misunderstand him, especially a non native English speaker. As an American who has been living in London for nearly 6 years, sometimes I struggle to understand northern accents.
That is about the dumbest law possible. If they don't have papers, they are illegal, but if they don't have papers, you cannot remove them. So, if an immigrant wants to stay, the key is to destroy or hide very well any documents from home. Problem solved. 🤪
it's because they can't just send them to Nigeria or anywhere else without proper proof that it's where they're from. But not being able to prove that you can legally stay is also a crime and will land you in prison, which may or may not be even worse
It's not their law unfortunately. No one can get on an international flights without proper travel documents. And if they don't have passports from their home country, they would be refused entry there as well.
The Border Agent Hassler is my favorite person on all these shows. He’s amazing. As an American, I can honestly say, we want & need this wonderful Agent. 🇦🇺🇺🇸🇬🇧

The rules apply to them equally, just the big difference is some are better liars/scammers/fraudsters/etc. for ex the chief lady may have seem to have good intentions, she would have probably found work, never commit a crime, and be a good person to society, it still doesn’t change the fact she was misleading the authorities, cheating the system, fraud. I mean you’re not here to work but you bring your tools your work specializes in, and tons of resume/CVs? She was trying to cheat the system but why is it you don’t have a problem with that?

Nothing worse than getting a beautiful piece of fish and then having to try and work with somebody’s steak knife because that is all they have in the kitchen. Also, it seemed like she used her laptop case as a briefcase. I have a case that I use in a similar way. It mostly has my notebooks with 25 years of recipes in it but there is also a few resumes in there, for sure. It’s called networking. Never know when you will meet someone to pass a resume to. Comfortable? Comfortable? People who are desperate enough to leave everyone and everything they know, spend their last cent and are ready to do the most grueling work with no security and always at risk of being exploited are NOT looking for a 'comfortable life.' In some cases, it's a matter of pure survival for themselves and their families in their home country. For some of these people, they may be the only hope for their family to escape hunger and want or get an education or have enough money to escape a war zone or famine. If you are sneaking into a country instead of flying in first-class, you are not looking for 'comfort' but a chance at a decent life compared to the hell you face at home. I work with foreigners living in my country, most of them either students or professionals, and they all miss their home country, family, food, familiar people, places and things, their culture... They may know it's a huge advantage to have a European education or to live in a stable, peaceful, well-organized country, but they have made huge sacrifices (or their family has in the case of most students) for the 'opportunity.' If they could work or study at the same level in their own country, they'd be in their own country.

The UK is different than any other country. If someone has no passport, they will make it easier for them to obtain British citizenship & then they will be entered into the system, where they will be destroyed very slowly over the course of many years. And often chefs like to do free work for restaurants as a trial to see if the restaurant will start the process to hire them. Working vacation or stages where you don't get payed. I feel sorry for the Indian guy who wants to study in the UK. He should have taken English lesson before applying for a Degree. His first term money burned just like that. The officer also needs to speak clearly whether it is cost or course because what I heard he said is "cost" not "course".
I, a native english speaker, can't even understand what the officer was saying. Thanks for clearing that up. It really sucks considering had the officer actually worded the sentence in a different manner the boy might have been on his way to the UK.
I felt as if he was mispronouncing the word on purpose to confuse him. smh. Especially, when the rephrasing still used the same word "course" instead of something synonymous like "class"... although he did throw in the verb to study ;v the man got cheated
@@kikesemore7045 are you serious? You're native and you don't hear that he told "course" not "cost". I'm from Poland and my english is average but I know what he talking. The Indian boy could have very big problems to understand what they're talking at university...
kallafiore congratulations? would you like a cookie? the point i am trying to make is, to some people, what he said DID NOT sound clear and he DID NOT rephrase his sentence in a way that would aid the student’s understanding. the officer very clearly has an accent, which further complicates the students understanding of any basic english. just because you understood does not mean the situation was fair.

Maybe he was bullshitting 😂
17:03 The reason he couldn't say anything about the course is because he understood 'cost' instead of 'course'. That should have been clear to the guy conducting the interview.
For once I do feel sorry for the applicant, because it does seem he genuinely wants to study in the UK and return to India afterwards. He did not come up with a false story, he just had issues understanding the accent of the interviewer.
I believed him he was going to study and so were the producers, or so it seems. But hey - how hard is it to learn some basic English in India? C'mon.
Oh yeah, feel so sorry for him… all the very best to him🥰

Her body language suggested otherwise, the tell-tail was after being rejected, she had to work hard and complained about the pay in Australia. Defo looking for work in UK.

I applied for a UK tourist visa for my Vietnamese wife a few years ago, we were accepted. It is odd to bring CVs and things like that.

As a parent of a culinary arts college student I will say, my child will NOT use anyone else's knife, takes their own knives with if going to cook!
@N D I believe that as well, but having the knives by themselves is not suspicious.
And often chefs like to do free work for restaurants as a trial to see if the restaurant will start the process to hire them. Working vacation or stages where you don't get payed. I know many chefs who go on vacation with no plan to change jobs. Just to have a month to learn from a great chef. No pay, nothing. If she did that she'd get free meals so wouldn't need much money. And would still need work history papers. And if staying with family there or friends then she wouldn't need money for that either. After a catastrophic accident I can't be a chef any more.. and I still bring my knives everywhere I go if I'm going to cook. There an extension of you, and no chef wants to grind and sharpen a friend's knife for an hour to be able to cook. A dull knife is a recipe for an accident at the speeds chefs works.

Why bring copies of your CV and cover letters as well as a set of chef's knives to another country if your whole purpose as she said was for a holiday?
