    Excellent coverage, but you missed out on wines, especially the passion fruit wine, as it's extensively grown there, and most of the home stays serve you wine at dinner. Its a wonderful place for a memorable holiday.

    Benefit of being a youtuber or food blogger is :
    U get special treatment, they serve u food at their best so u like the food and give good review, u get many times extra portion at no cost

    • @visa2explore
      @visa2explore  6 лет назад +2

      Not true really.... that may seem so but when you go to big restaurants that have chain they will try and give you special treatment but for others smaller eating joints or street food... they don't know much about youtube....
      for them you are one fo their customers.....

    Amazing videos. Sir, I love the way you capture the journey. Your videos cover all essential details that are helpful for someone planning to visit the place. You inform about the places to visit, places to stay and their prices n convenience, famous delicacies, add the touch of local authenticity by visiting local homes n filming their food preparations, exploring some not so crowded locations if one wants to enjoy the nature, informing about the local markets and rates that gives an idea on what can be bought at best prices. This is like a whole package. I enjoy watching the food details and the amazing scenery that these places offer.

    This video reminds me ur Shimla tour
    Same feeling...local food, out of town scenes, less crowd and silence
    I like ur this kind of video
    Harish Bali of Shimla or Coorg is much different than Harish Bali of city
    Ur appearance in town side is totally different from city side
    U look like a professional filming documentary about local food and life for some big travel channel
    I request u to send or email ur videos to travel channels or travel RUclips channel
    U can host a travel show like My earlier favourite LONELY PLANET
    Have u seen lonely planet on discovery in 90's....most popular that time
    U deserve a travel show like lonely planet after watching ur Shimla and Coorg tour
    I will say there are many RUclipsrs on city food but none on village or town food......u r really good in Shimla and Coorg tour and ur voice over on each and every detail clearly

      Yes Cassava,mogo, Tapioca, we are land of spices and i have seen Kenyan call it Cassava, this is famous and used in Coorg and Kerala for almost anything or everything, we use to prepare it as spicy chips, plain chips, we use it for Kodi curry, Fish curry, it goes well with lime pickle, non veg, Bondas, so when India was trading spices to all over the world we gave some ideas of preparation some of the stuffs..this is only a few but u can actually use it well for anything.

    Harish ji,
    What you called Gunda made with smashed boiled Tapioca is eaten the world over also known as Cassava in Africa, in East Africa in Swahili its called Mogo.
    Also, in the. Spanish countries in S America it’s called Yucca. Simply remove the skin and sliced long way into chips deep fried in peanut oil.
    Sprinkle with salt , red pepper, lime and even tamarind sauce. My wife and I enjoy your blog and next time we come to India we would like to travel with you! Thank You

    While it is wonderful that you are sharing your original reactions and feelings when it comes to tasting a local specialty, I think you really need to grow your palate. Because, there have been a lot of times where, after trying a local specialty, you often comment saying that you don't really like this particular combination (when in fact the locals LOVE eating that particular combination). For example, a Kashmiri person who has eaten ONLY Kashmiri food in his life, will obviously (probably) not LOVE eating sevais and uthappams. But, unfortunately, food travelers (like you: who travel the breadth of the country to try out different dishes) don't have that luxury. They need to have a palate that matches that of the average eater. You CANNOT be picky. :) I hope you were able to understand the point I wanted to convey.

    • @visa2explore
      @visa2explore  6 лет назад +3

      Bang on - Point taken... i prefer to agree to logical inputs ... yes now the bigger question is how to handle that piece...
      i really wish to meet some creators who travel across nations.. so i can get to learn how do they handle this piece.....

    • @kiney0713
      @kiney0713 5 лет назад +2

      IMO, Harish is giving his honest opinion by tasting things the very first time - the texture, the ingredients, the differences he sees from what he has eaten before and what he is eating at that point. No one can experience anything brand new and become 'local' at the flip of a switch. Harish is doing a very good job as a north-indian (in this case visiting the south), tasting each and every possible dish, checking out the cooking style, what goes into each thing, tasting each item individually, giving an honest assessment, tasting a combo (example paputtu with veggie gravy) and explaining his evaluations in a very direct, honest way.
      No one can appreciate local foods like the locals - esp on first try. Not even you Herr Himmel.

      oh God!!! my wife had 3 objections in this video...
      1. Why i bought 100 gm only, i have no answer..
      2. she said when we go out to holiday you are open on comfort don't restrict on tariff, then why are you saying i can't afford more than 1500 or 2000... i have no answer..
      3. Tapioca - i spoke to her when i was in coorg that i want to go to salem.. to shoot sabudana.. and then in the video i say i don't know tapioca... again no answer...
      well.. all this is interesting with loads of mistakes.. but that's ok... i have tendency to forget it seems..

    I have been watching your videos. Very good job.. And the tomato curry is called 'gojju' in Kannada. Nool puttu is 'otthu shyavige' and coconut milk is 'gasagase paayasa' its the best combination.

    Kodava cuisine is very underrated. There is a perception that Kodava cuisine is all about Pandi curry and little else. These rotis are very healthy. You should visit Chikmagalur, the place where coffee cultivation started in India. These rice noodles are healthy as well. My mom is an expert at making these noodles.

      By the way, the sweet accompaniment that you had with the rice noodles is called, " Gasgase Payasa." This has a lot of poppy seeds and this drink has a soporific effect. Poppy seeds act as a coolant when added or ground raw. However, they do heat up your body when roasted and added to the preparation. Did you snooze after this meal? It is quite natural if your food has Poppy Seeds as an ingredient.
