21 years ago, long before Coorg saw the number of travellers it receives these days, Mr Girish and his wife, Pushpa set up an eatery out of their home to serve the cuisine of their land. Disregarding the safe multi-cuisine approach of most highway eateries to cater to each and everyone, the couple focused only on Kodava dishes, a cuisine that not too many knew of outside Coorg back then. This gutsy gamble seems to have paid off, for today Coorg Cuisine is ‘the stop’ for its namesake cuisine for travelers (in the know) in Madikeri. I dropped in for an impromptu lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find some delicious vegetarian dishes too, like a top notch baby brinjal fry, a mellow bamboo shoot curry, in addition to the usual non veg fare - pandi curry, mutton fry, etc. that one expects to find in this part of the state.

I had here everyday when I visited Coorg. It was wow , yummy , awesome and it was value for money.

I have been to his restaurant around 2010, that time there was no other Kodava restaurant ( atleast we could find), almost same items...i can still find the taste in my tongue...Never had better Pandi Curry better ever...hats off this restaurant..Love from Assam( we are one of biggest Pork eaters)

One correction: Fern is called Therme thoppu a kind of green leafy vegetable. It's not the Kembu as stated in the video. Offcourse the place is very good for Kodava Cuisine.

Service was dreadful, place dated, hygiene no existent and three was much that required attention to be called an eatery.
Just promotion aren't enough and the place needs a soul.

Sir, I am one of your biggest followers. After your recommendation, I visited this restaurant. But sadly, it was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. The restaurant ambiance is cool, but the food is the worst I have ever had. Also, one of the saddest parts is that they are not even using fresh meat. Sir, if you want to do some paid promotion, please promote a good restaurant. Don't make us waste our hard-earned money.
It's unfortunate your meal didn't live up to your expectations. This place does have its share of fans as you will see in comments here and elsewhere online. Perhaps the restaurant had a bad day when you visited, hope you brought it to their attention. I appreciate that you follow our work, we on't do paid restaurant promotions. Cheers!

Sir, one suggestion. The recent videos of yours are concentrated in karnataka and it is now getting monotonous. Plz do diversify
IMHO this is the most overrated eatery which was visited by the famous HOMP duo and now Kripal too.
Poor response from the the older gentleman of this restaurant in 2021.Ended up ordering so much food for 2 people which sadly was wasted. The owner should have atleast told us while ordering that the food being ordered is in excess. Maybe Kripal got good attention considering he is an influencer. Maybe they knew we were tourists and chances of coming back was next to zero. So would advise most you to be careful when ordering food here. Nobody likes to waste food.
So your problem is the portion size is more than what you expected? How would that guy know how big/small your appetites are?

Have had a similar experience elsewhere. Since then while traveling I always first order a single or 2 orders to get an idea of the taste and portion size.
