One of the best places in town... Always love their innovations they do with pork.. Not to mention, the other dishes including veg are equally good as well.
Sir there is so much resemblance of Coorg and north east cuisine particularly pork, bamboo shoot and the ingredients that follow. Looking forward to having you over North east and Assam sometime!
Having visited Coorg couple of times since 1992, I had tasted Kodava cuisine, mostly in Mercara. This episode brought to my attention, how much more is left to try in various parts of Coorg. I haven't tried any of the various Pork dishes you've featured in this episode. I've noticed the lovely couple have mastered their methods, besides being innovative and courteous to outsiders. I have a suggestion regarding the grilled, smoked and Fire Pork served there. I know it's a tradition to serve it with Akki Roti, rice erc., but I also think, it would go very well with a Pav (used for Pav Bhaji) or a Goan bread served with Chorizo😊 I have never seen Pork grilled in Tandoor or on embers in India, unlike in Far East which is common place. I also observed their smoked Pork seems better option to Chorizo of Goa, which contains very small quantities of smoked Pork. I have made it a point to visit this museum of art and try those mouth watering dishes during my next trip to Coorg, God willing. Stay blessed.❤ Cheers 🥂
Thanks for coming to my home town gonikoppa.....one km ahead u can come to our home anytime sir.....btw....nak andi bondu line was epic n well said...😊
Where can I get proper authentic kodava pork and other food items in Gonikoppal ? Long back I had peanut kind of pork liver fry.Is that available somewhere?
Kripal sir just a suggestion it’s been lot of episodes on Dosas , Karnataka costal food , Bangalore food etc but as a suggestion pls try to explore food in northern and central part of Karnataka some good eateries from ballari to Bidar ,Vijaypura to Belgaum these place have their own unique food recipes pls explore these and promote these regions delicious food

I can see all the effort that went behind their welcoming natural smiles ❤❤. Best ever !!!!! This type of cuisine has a tendency to acquire our tastebuds over the period of time. Hence I have seen so less of “uummmmmmhhh’s” from Brother Kripal 😊. Finally! You are too used to the city life ❤ But I respect your enthusiasm to show me all the deepest secrets of food!!!!!
Wow..! what a beautiful restaurant..! I really impressed..! I appreciate the hotelier and his heritage interests..! One thing..In tamil nadu, kerala they never cook and serve the pork curry in any non veg restaurants..! It's surprising..! Some restaurants in tamilnadu the beef items also available..but pork..?? No chance at all..!
Kripal sir, I see you made 2 videos in Belgaum. Do come around again and try few other eateries like mahila aghadi, master chef, charaka mess, Santorini, Kareem's, Ajanta cafe near Huns Talkies, Nath's masala pav, Suvarna Mandir, Gavkari thali and Jatra hotel
Kripal Sir, just a tip in case you wish to make this at home instead of the guntur chillies you can use a combination of kashmiri and bedgi chillies. For the pork gravy. It tastes awesome and less spicy. The rest of the spices remain the same. We make it often at home. Happy Eating.
Kripal Sir, I am a great fan of all your videos be it this or the Kripal Amanna vlogs. I was just curious to know that you take a lot of different dishes to taste, what happens to the leftover food as you eat only spoonfuls of each.
Something like pork.. Not sure what you meant by that.. Pork is no longer cheap, it's expensive.. At about 420/kg and I'm sure you agree that's not cheap.
@@bipinmc123 You mean to say 420 to 450 rupees is okay for something which is 420/kg...mutton which is around 750 to 800 rs kilo is charged at 420 to 450 rupees..and I am from mumbai, not a cheap city but get food of all rates .. please accept it is expensive...and it is 🐖 meat not wild boar.
@@shreyas4980smoked pork takes a lot of effort and time to prepare and it's usually expensive (900-1000per kg) Few dishes are in combo,eg bamboo and though a little pricey,I feel it's justified coz of the quantity they serve( I know this coz I have eaten there).
@@bipinmc123 what should the mutton dishes be priced as per quantity, as it is double the rate of pork...800 rupees a plate...and are you trying to say it is a 3 star hotel, forget 4 star or 5 star...food might be good, but prices not justified..The way you said 420 rs/kilo, and justified the price...To put things in perspective told mutton rates. And also I would go and eat, if the food is good, but for the general population the prices are not justified
I would go there for a traditional experience irrespective of prices. Not all restaurants are for everyone. As I would never go to a 5 star restaurant for Biryani. I would have it on the street side hotel for 150 rupees. It’s much tastier. But this is an excellent exception. This restaurant is awesome
