I'm tired of all the broken promises, broken launches and over monetization of fps games. The game may launch broken and busted but hey at least the battlepass and cash shop works, yay....
@@adamleon3501 *eyeroll* bruh i dont just play fps. this video is about fps games so my comment is about fps games. for example i also play ff14, the yakuza series, elden ring. dont assume i only play fps games.
"That's why the next Doom game will sell 0 copies :p" They wanted the live service games to last forever. But now they're surprised that people still play these years old games... Not to mention the ENORMOUS BACKLOG people tend to collect...the TTS (time to sell) needs to be extended, because you're not just competing with Activision and EA, you're competing with entire decades of remakes, remasters, and 1-1 working ports.
I stopped playing cod after infinite came out, i broke and got mw 2019 because i heard it was actually good and for about 3 months i played it every day. That is the last time i played cod. Its been 5 years…. Edit: 2016 infinite came out, 3 years of no cod and i played mw for less than half a year. In 8 years ive played cod for about 200 hours
The issue really is no dedicated servers, no ingame voicechat that isn't monitored, and text chat that doesn't allow you to be toxic. You can't form any communities and all this nonsense about toxic gaming culture and people crying about toxicity were just normies and weaklings getting filtered.
I pretty muchg only play CS and ocassionally realistic stuff like Insurgency Sandstorm or PUBG... the rest is just so lame and casual - CS and ultra realistic shooters at least get my heart pumping
Recycled content/gameloop. 100% is the issue here. Every year we get the COD grind, everybody is copying cod too so. We get full priced games, with battle passes, tons of skins ect. Basically with any COD, if you've played one. You've played them all. Maps vary, but many are recycled. Guns, usually stuff we've seen before. Visuals are barely better year to year to where its not noticeable at all. The campaigns can be hit or miss also, since sometimes they dont put much effort into that either. Its not about crafting a good experience for the players. Its about satisfying the stockholders. Plain and simple. There are still enjoyable fps games, but they are single player story driven experiences. Not online pvp type stuff. Those, are soulless grinds that just want to get in your wallet past the purchase price. I have a buddy who buys COD basically every year, and he always raves about it as the best new thing usually. Outliers being vanguard and mw3 "dlc3". But he doesnt even play the games if there is nothing left to level, or grind for. And that just proves to me its not about the gameplay loop itself that keeps him coming back. Its about those unlocks and chases to get weapons/attachments/camos. And past that, the gameplay loop is just meh. Gets old quick. But its nice to hop on here and there for an hour or so. Enter SBMM and EOMM, where they try to make every game insufferably sweaty seeming. Give you bot lobbies when you've not played in a long time to give you that high. And then punish you consistently until they throw you a carrot here and there, depending on how much you've spent in game. Lets not beat around the bush. Activision is predatory. And nobody should buy that crap.
1. The most played genre, by far, is shooters. 2. CS has 1.1 million concurrent users despite being a 20 year old game. 3. Steamdb is covered head to toe in shooters. 4. Did you smoke all the drugs before making this video ? 5. How is the most played genre, by far, dead ? 6. Did you just need to make a video and thought "i'll just throw random nonsense at the wall" ? 7. Shooters are so popular they are inspiring other genre names despite them basically just being shooters (see Battle Royale games)

This is gaming in general. If you think its just fps it's because you only play them

They'll keep trying because the reward for getting a FPS right is HUGE
7 of the top ten best selling games last year in the steam charts are first person shooters
Not to mention the game that is permanently the most played game on steam at over 1 million concurrent users (CS).

FPS' heyday has come and gone. Toxicity and cheating rule this age. 40 year gamer here.

That is nowhere near a major issue
My goodness, all things considered that's not even a minor issue.
I agree about Dedicated servers though.
Apex is the best shooter for me due to the fluid movement.
I dont think you understand fps's
That's a very convincing argument. I don't think you think. Try again.
