In marching band, one time I dropped my trombone and the bell part fell on the slide and the slide is dented. Been like that for 9 months.

I can’t see a physical dent. Slide oil does nothing and it still is hesitant to move 😟

Try aligning it (making sure the tubes go into the outer slide straight). If that doesn’t work ou're probably gonna need to take it to the shop : (

I would strongly recommend the slide cleaning video by Bill Watrous. Clean the slide first using a slide cleaning rod and cheese cloth. That shot gun cleaning rod looks a little too aggressive.

Not just too aggressive; it's not designed for trombones. There are, as you say, slide cleaning rods that you use with cheese cloth. Like a flute cleaning rod, but a lot longer!
