"In my opinion, the trombone is the true head of the family of wind instruments, which I have named the 'epic' one. It possesses nobility and grandeur to the highest degree; it has all the serious and powerful tones of sublime musical poetry, from religious, calm and imposing accents to savage, orgiastic outburst. Directed by the will of the master, the trombones can chant like a choir of priests, threaten, utter gloomy sighs, a mournful lament, or a bright hymn of glory; they can break forth into awe-inspiring cries and awaken the dead or doom the living with their fearful voices." - Hector Berlioz
I have one from my great grandfather he played in high school and then for the freemasons band, I’m no good at it but they’re fun and certainly pieces of art. I had two but sadly one was was stolen
The trombone is the least and most in-tune instrument at the same time. You constantly change how you play based on the temperature of the instrument, as well as the tuning of the other instruments in the band. It takes a lot to master, similar to a fretless guitar.
As a former Bonehead 1992-2000, i had to see this, much appreciated, i encourage my kids to make music and think it would be great to pick up again just for the lung and facial muscle benefits lol!
Go for it!! An admirable and achievable dream. Immerse yourself in all things involved in and related to your chosen profession -- indulge your passion! I'm probably old enough to be your Mum, maybe even your Gran, and I wish I'd known what I wanted to do, and went and did it. So seize life with both hands and shape it into what you want. I wish you, with all my heart, every success in the future (which could be the present by the time you read this!)

How does one work in this field? Im still in highschool and i want to work as a trombone specialist by either fixing or making them cause i love brass instruments alot so any information would be helpful for my soon to be collage life
Above the Alto Trombone there's Soprano and Piccolo Trombone, and those last one are really small, they look like a funny toy and sound almost like a trumpet 😅

As a trombone player, and a lover of engineering/ manufacturing; this is fascinating
I’m just imagining the plumbing in their homes! Glorious craftsmanship, wonderful to see.
Quarantine has me binge watching all of these
Bryanna Bissainthe same...
I've got a custom Rath trombone on order and its beautiful.
I have one from my great grandfather he played in high school and then for the freemasons band, I’m no good at it but they’re fun and certainly pieces of art. I had two but sadly one was was stolen
As a trombone player, this is amazing to see!!! I would love to learn how to do this one day!
Good choice on the maker. I've heard JP rath trombones are some of the finest in the industry

Do it! Seriously, look at me and listen: *DO IT!!*
It's never too late. I picked one up after a 40-year hiatus.
My dream is to soon make brass instruments for a living, It’s been a dream of mine since I was in the 6th grade
Same. I’d love to make custom low brass both for myself and for sale.

Interesting. Some RUclipsr said to keep watching new types of video’s and suggested the process of building a trombone
At first I thought the title was a Tombstone, I was like what are they using a blowtorch for on a tombstone? LOL

Glad you found your glasses for your picture
What an amazing skill thanks
Every tromBONER matters
Thank you for making my trombone Yamaha 😊
Important stuff to learn in these trying times.
Thanks for a very good video.
In my view, the Michael Rath company could have deserved to have its name more prominently displayed :-)

It is much and it's honest work. :-)

The alto trombone most certainly isn't the highest pitch member of the trombone family
Out of the ones produced there it is
Above the Alto Trombone there's Soprano and Piccolo Trombone, and those last one are really small, they look like a funny toy and sound almost like a trumpet 😅
The alto trombone is the highest pitch trombone in common use, and it is not even all that common.
I do similar shit in Engineering at college but making job parts an welding
What’s a chube? 🤣🤣🤣
The London UndergrounD, mate.
Cool
Chube. British for pipe.
And choons, southern England English for tunes.

Do they make left hand trombones
Ones without valves (straight tenors) are inherently ambidextrous. Slide Hampton played left handed.
@@flamingosextet8649 but nobody plays it left handed lol

Hi🇲🇨👍
Just use M.I.D.I.
Hahahhahahahaa. Oh god I hope you're not serious
I can do that....
10k pounds!!? Lol.
Any custom horn is going to cost likely in excess of $ / £2,000 easily. You wouldn't believe how much customized tubas can cost.
