Lost count of how many times I've watched this, and it still cracks me up how you guys slow motioned my reaction in scrutineering when he popped the bonnet!!!!
Have to say probably the fastest true street car on drag challenge. It's one thing to be registered , it's another to be fully engineered and road legal and includes things like a full exhaust. Him and Luke Foley i give props to, 8 seconds cars that drive everywhere
How the fuck do you get a roll cage and a pod filter out of an airbox engineered? I'm not saying it isn't engineered. I'm saying who engineered it so I can get mine done...
I wish we had more exposure to those 4.0 Falcon I6s here in the states. This is the third car on YT I’ve seen make stupid levels of power w very simple set ups. Seems like the 2J of Australia
Mark Nicholls 3000 lbs of car... easy 8's in the right weather.. built barra (even after import) would probably be cheaper than a 2J swap in the states too.
This is one of my favorite vids of the year. Great story about a great event. As far as sleepers go that car is spot on. You'd never expect the super clean engine bay or the silky smooth launches.. Just awesome. Congrats to all involved.
We’ve featured Tunnel Vision’s Ford Barra powered Falcon previously on fullboost. The car is a real sleeper. It may look beat up on the outside but this is a genuine 8-second street car and we’re about to head out on a week long adventure for Street Machine’s Drag Challenge.
Looks like a great way to spend some days racing, the comeraderie of it would make it even better, making sure everyone got on their way, good on you's... great video thanks for sharing.
XD makes love to a FG Turbo, and this car is the result. Great stuff guys, from an owner of an XD and a FG turbo. That is a true street sleeper rocket ship.
Awesome work Luke. Congrats to all that competed in the event, and of course the lads at Tunnel Vision who, without doubt, proved the quality of their work in what was effectively a flawless display. Blowing off an intercooler clamp is no reflection on quality, rather these things happen. Frankly, to achieve an 8.64 on the last day was brilliant, just a shame the weather turned bad. Brilliant and we can only hope to see you there next year!
That was really a fantastic watch. XD’s have place in many people’s heart, mine included after owning a wagon. Amazing that it drove to all of the events, great see. 👍
A big thank you for sharing your story it had me glued to the screen and with 12 min to go till the end of the top video, i had an appointment and first time ever this had priority over any appointments!!! It made me feel like i was the third cog looking in and shared both the joys and disappointment with the weather setbacks and the stuff....and that's a mighty Daily XD BARRA! Well done to all and i do hope 2018 be another trip and share. Cheers all :-)
what a awesome documented video of that event, well done to jason for allowing FB to come aboard and for the 8.6 in a tank like that, jason you build a super ballsy & reliable car, well done sir...
Wow.. How much fun driving from event to event would have been something else..I absolutely love long distance driving and to be able to do it in these Australian classics would be even more enjoyable and memorable... It's one thing to go to a drag strip but adding the driving between tracks is taking it to another level.. Would love to be try this out one day...If funds or age don't slow me down first... By the way lived in Hay NSW and the heat during summer is ... Interesting to say the least... Well put together this show loved every bit of it .. Anthony and Kelly...
The crazy part is where you guys stayed in adelaide, i was there and made comment to my mother about the nice XD in the parking lot... i never knew it had a barra! amazing
I freely admit here and now, I am not a Ford fan, here in America or else where, and I am a GM person... however, there are Fords, and Ford engines that I do respect, and would not complain to own, and this very inline six is one of those engines I respect, and would not mind owning. Guys, it looks like a beater, but honestly, it makes it that much more beautiful! Well done guys, and I look forward to seeing more of this car :D
Sensational video! Thanks for posting it, you've gone to a lot of effort and we really appreciate it. Production is tops, especially given the shoe string budget! Keep up the good work.
great coverage! thanks so much for putting in the time and effort to document the trip from this perspective. crazy how heavy the car is still considering xfs are one of the lighter falcons lol.
Love to see street cars that will hall balls on the track and can do long road trips while still holding together! That's one hell of a car you boys have! Greetings from the U.S.A.!
Awesome video Luke, shame about the weather in Portland. Tunnel Vision really do build some great cars, this just proved how good they really are. Looking forward to next year already :)
I think there was one that managed to get done without rain but the weather is so unpredictable this time of the year down this way... that said the first few days were roasting, can't win lol.
what I really like is that the engine can be perfectly driven on the road AND on the drag strip... do you change anything, load another software or anything ?
Mate, this is ALL GO NO SHOW car. It looks like (with due respects) a beat up piece of crap but is a monster under the hood. It even has the front badge missing. Love it! lol
Heij In Germany this great car was called Ford Granada. Discontinued looking ago. The happier I was when I found this very nice pure sleeper. You guys do a great job not only keeping great cars alive but kicking a s s! Would consider coming to Germany, You'd be a huge attraction, everybody thinks what the f when they see Your taillights :-):-)
These Barra powered rockets are everywhere over here in Australia . Cheap and easy to purchase . Off the shelf bolt ons available in any speed shop . Ls1 killers .
Great video guys I know what my next engine is gonna be now Got to ask what happened to Heathcotte and Calder? Also why not ,98 surely that's better for the internals of be engine when is 2022?
I'd say this video was better covered than street machines own shoot of the event. One stout performer and very 'street' oriented unlike the turbo v8's running pipes out the bonnet and sides of the guards. No way can you call a street car something which runs an open pipe like those other runners were, kinda call bullshit on that. Love the XD, tough as nails when you want it to be and sedate and well behaved all in one.
I've never heard of a 6 cyl running 8's. Amaazing. All credit to you guys for a great vid. No cam you say. A host of questions. What's the diff ratio? What fuel consumption do you get? What makes a Barra so different from ordinary 6 cyl's? Thanks mate.
Only just realised, the Falcon is what was sold as the "Ford Granada Mk11" in England. We never had any good engines though. Just a crappy 2.0 ford pinto, or the 2.8 V6. with about 130bhp.
Bulletproof Australian made motor minor issues the whole trip amazing should of got 1st place you could literally drive that car everyday to work and back
Next time you do the tour you can crash at my place in Adelaide lads. Im only 10 minutes from Pavlos, or I can probably get you sponsored a room at a mates Motel that's just as close.
:-) Not quite... Very similar styling, and I think the headlights and front indicator lenses are interchangeable, but otherwise the falcon and Granada are completely different cars. Under the skin the XD is practically identical to its XC predecessor, but with many new plastic parts, which cut down on the weight and contributed to the scary handling with which the horse and cart back suspension saddled the car. The Falcon was really just a tweak of a tweak of a tweak, some larger, some smaller, all the way from the beginning of Australian production in 1960 to 2016. There was never enough market or money for fundamental changes. Some parts were brilliant; others were never fixed properly. About this particular car, I think the rough appearance is genius! Falcons tend to crumble around the edges and look daggy relatively quickly, but very rarely fail to complete the journey, just like this one!
It is a national disgrace that these videos don't get more views than they do. Such fantastic production quality on the entire channel
Venture 345 Thanks dude 👍
Because of how shit they are
If more Americans like me loved Aussie cars the views would go through the roof.
+
Fully registered and engineered with a rollcage? Yeah right
+JackoTJK Yes the car is engineered.
JackoTJK wanker lol
How the fuck do you get a roll cage and a pod filter out of an airbox engineered? I'm not saying it isn't engineered. I'm saying who engineered it so I can get mine done...
Loved this show! I love the slow pace, not a bunch of music drowning out everything, or distracting graphics
Yes!
I wish we had more exposure to those 4.0 Falcon I6s here in the states. This is the third car on YT I’ve seen make stupid levels of power w very simple set ups. Seems like the 2J of Australia
its better than a 2J in some aspects.
Would kill a 2J. Pound for Pound of boost. Not many I6 Turbos are in this ballpark. Dollar for Dollar/Pound for Pound (of boost).
Go chop 2J swaps with it😉
Mark Nicholls 3000 lbs of car... easy 8's in the right weather.. built barra (even after import) would probably be cheaper than a 2J swap in the states too.
theyre used as an industrial motor in the states in forklifts and generators etc, not sure how common they would be tho lol
This is one of my favorite vids of the year. Great story about a great event. As far as sleepers go that car is spot on. You'd never expect the super clean engine bay or the silky smooth launches.. Just awesome. Congrats to all involved.
Barra the world!
that Alf Stuart’s dungeon comment made me lose it haha
We’ve featured Tunnel Vision’s Ford Barra powered Falcon previously on fullboost. The car is a real sleeper. It may look beat up on the outside but this is a genuine 8-second street car and we’re about to head out on a week long adventure for Street Machine’s Drag Challenge.
Fullboost faultless video yet again guys
Can I be a nerd an ask what kind of mileage you were getting on the way back?
Cheers
I wouldn't know Josh, we were towing a trailer as well. The car sits on around 2900rpm at 105kph.
I really liked this for some reason. Good work. Thanks for showing us.
Looks tidy 2 me..
Looks like a great way to spend some days racing, the comeraderie of it would make it even better, making sure everyone got on their way, good on you's... great video thanks for sharing.

Great video. clean camera shots and editing, as goes for the commentary. Looking forward to next year, when you follow more competitors.
I’ve seen this car in person and man this thing has the most cleanest engine bay I’ve ever seen in my life I thought it was ment for the car
Willmmer West ahahha yea mate
This was great to watch. Thanks for the upload, congrats to Tunnel Vision on the car and yeah nah heaps good mate.
Fantastic video documenting a fantastic car. What a machine! Thank you.
That was really a fantastic watch. XD’s have place in many people’s heart, mine included after owning a wagon. Amazing that it drove to all of the events, great see. 👍
It's off its faaarken guts!!! The guys at Tunnel Vision are absolutely insane!! ✊
Soundtrack is killer all the way through, sick production

Very impressive car stock cam running in the eights the perfect definition of a sleeper
what a awesome documented video of that event, well done to jason for allowing FB to come aboard and for the 8.6 in a tank like that, jason you build a super ballsy & reliable car, well done sir...
Just love the way that thing launchers straight as.
Tunnel Vision Falcons just hook up so well- straight as a die the whole track.
Well done blokes
That swan hill track was prepped so nice!
Wow.. How much fun driving from event to event would have been something else..I absolutely love long distance driving and to be able to do it in these Australian classics would be even more enjoyable and memorable...

As usual another top quality video guys. Keep up the great work

That installs insanely clean.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video Fullboost. As always love your work and thank you.
great to see more of this car barra the world
great coverage! thanks so much for putting in the time and effort to document the trip from this perspective. crazy how heavy the car is still considering xfs are one of the lighter falcons lol.
Great vid, Luke. Well done to Jason as well
this is my fav car on full boost!!! so deceiving !!
Love to see street cars that will hall balls on the track and can do long road trips while still holding together! That's one hell of a car you boys have! Greetings from the U.S.A.!
hahahaha Alf Stewarts dungeon
16:55 no seatbelt on! lol and old mate in the back with his seatbelt on asleep..lol love it!
Awesome video Luke, shame about the weather in Portland. Tunnel Vision really do build some great cars, this just proved how good they really are. Looking forward to next year already :)
+Dragpix Australia Everytime is have been to Portland it has rained... 😑
I think there was one that managed to get done without rain but the weather is so unpredictable this time of the year down this way... that said the first few days were roasting, can't win lol.
Insane how reliable the car is, all the distance in between each event and towing trailer. That car seems to be unstoppable
holy shit that launch on the first pass
240km/h in an XD falcon... I couldn't imagine it. My XF used to walk all over the highway at 160
u needed new shockies maybe lower springs m8 xf glide like falcon bird @ 220 with 4.1
thats nuts 8's on stock cams. hats off to you Aussies.
Awesome, great to get such a cool insight - thanks
those xd headlights would have been nice on those long dark roads
Even the trailer has matching snowflake mags to go with the car!
what I really like is that the engine can be perfectly driven on the road AND on the drag strip... do you change anything, load another software or anything ?
Mate, this is ALL GO NO SHOW car. It looks like (with due respects) a beat up piece of crap but is a monster under the hood. It even has the front badge missing. Love it! lol
such a fuckin clean engine bay
Such a good looking, clean car 👍 nice
This thing need to do drag week in the states ASAP!
Heij

The Granada is a totally different car to our Falcon..
The falcon is the size of a tank compared to the Granada and was only sold in Australia and New Zealand
100% pure sleeper, love this car.
Fantastic vid guys.. I have an xd v8 wagon my father bought new and I'm a barra and Cleveland lover..
14:07 love the bug guts... that prove the late night drive😂
"Alf stewarts dungeon down here" cracked me up lol
"This'll go straight through me but it's alright coz we got Wet Ones!"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good things happen to good people !
Well done beating your PB : )
Amazing car. Excellent reliability.
These Barra powered rockets are everywhere over here in Australia . Cheap and easy to purchase . Off the shelf bolt ons available in any speed shop . Ls1 killers .
Great video guys I know what my next engine is gonna be now
Got to ask what happened to Heathcotte and Calder?
Also why not ,98 surely that's better for the internals of be engine when is 2022?
1st class vid. And congrats. Enjoyed that
cool Video !! nice engine you run ..damm that thing runs great..!!saludos from Costa Rica
Can't wait to barra my XD
Brilliant video. And one of the better street cars by all definitions.
But I had a chuckle at FORCEFEDs SA defect sticker hahaha. So typical of SA
Thanks guys for sharing !
Props for the Alf Stewart dungeon
Would love to get a barra in the uk. To put in a mk5 cortina estate. Similar shape the this but a bit smaller.
We had 6 cylinder cortinas here in the 70's. 4.1 Litre
4.1??!!!!!😳jeezz..v6?? South african production cortina were 3.0 v6 essex..mostly found in the xr6..
Wilbur Hein inline 6. Ancestor to the Barra
Just watched this twice. Better the second time with no pants on.
But nothing beat the mighty lsx engine combos at drag week
lol I appreciate this comment
so proud guys
I'd say this video was better covered than street machines own shoot of the event. At 5:03 the windshield cracks when the car launches. That is some serious power. Lmao. On second review, I believe its the reflection of a straw👀
Great vid. Saw more of the reality of Drag Challenge than in the SM vids of the event. Can you tell us about the KE corolla? What motor? What times?
I was saying it was better than the SM vids. ;)
+Slow Learner Cheers thanks. The KE runs a 2L built CA18 engine. Best time was 10.8 from memory
Congrats guys. keep up the good work........... remember....... Podacasts need to be done,........ ordered some aparel.. Cheers Twins...........
Sick video. Love it.
One of the best vids ive seen on yt good job fellas
I've never heard of a 6 cyl running 8's. Amaazing. All credit to you guys for a great vid. No cam you say. A host of questions. What's the diff ratio? What fuel consumption do you get? What makes a Barra so different from ordinary 6 cyl's? Thanks mate.
Dude there are 6 cylinders running 6sec 1/4s. GTRs and Supras been doing this for years.. even a barra in the 6s now
Awesome work mate!
i love how u Aussies always have clean engine bays no matter what the car looks like
Very nice, thank you. I enjoyed that. Now, was that the turbo taxi I saw in the background? How's that coming along?
great video! nice story about it.
top effort fellas, awesome car
FUCKIN LEGENDS ALL OF EM !, LONG LIVE DRAG CHALLENGE, I'll enter in the coming years
love the production!
Alf Stewart in his summer bay ape dungeon lol
Insane launch. So what does this kind of performance get for 0-100mph? 5 seconds?
Yes it does 125mph in under 6-seconds 👍
What an awesome car!!
way to rep the blue oval lads well done
Nice pain job. Good detailing under the bonnet.
Great video yet again guys
Great video guys!
Barra the world boys

Although it looks similar its not the same car. 👍
What a BEAST!!💪😤
Well done, what a beast :)
Wicked video boys! One day id love to get involved in this rad event
I really like that roll cage I wouldn't mind one like that in my car.
Great vid. That ford model was Granada in Finland. What was fuel consumption on street?
:-) Not quite... Very similar styling, and I think the headlights and front indicator lenses are interchangeable, but otherwise the falcon and Granada are completely different cars.
Under the skin the XD is practically identical to its XC predecessor, but with many new plastic parts, which cut down on the weight and contributed to the scary handling with which the horse and cart back suspension saddled the car.
