We have had our mini Aussie doodle for less than a week and she's already learned her name and she rings her bell to go outside! She's insanely smart! she's only 2 months old.
Teach me! I have a 10 week old mini aussie doodle. And he only does commands when lured into position with my hand or treats (aside from sit. He sits with genuine pleasure). He only uses his big brain to break out of his play pen. (We have had 4 security breaches so far).
I had the same same problem, wouldn't bark to go out, but when she started barked she wouldn't stop, so I taught her "bark" & then the meaning of no ... so damn smart I feel I should be able to teach her by just tellig her what I want her to do.
We've had our Mini AussieDoodle (20lbs) for about 3 years. Brilliant little guy. They watch everything you do and learn on their own. Incredibly loyal. We live on about 9 acres, half-wooded. I walk with him in the woods and he stays within about 20 to 30 feet at all times. Great little dog.
I rescued a 13 week old Aussiedoodle back in November. He is 11 months old... and amazing! The little guy stays at home for 9 hours a day while we are at work without a cage and does great! No chewing or pooping/peeing in the house. He’s very loyal and stays in the yard without a fence or leash. He loves to cuddle, and does really well with our two year old daughter. The only flaw is, he wants to play all the time, and he steals things and wants you to chase him around the house......
Thank you .I just got one. My Husband was walking Einstein and a woman literally turned her car around ,stop in the turning lane ,asked what type of puppy he was ans said he was the cutest dog she has ever seen.
We just welcomed a blue Merle Aussie doodle into our family! She is standard but we think she’ll be around 40 pounds. she is so cute and has the ideal Aussiedoodle look, but brown eyes not blue, and a very feathery, puffy hair. She is honestly the best dog ever
Something not mentioned about Australian Shepherds, courage. My walking companion took on a cougar to protect the neighbors calves. He went with me everywhere. If there was a threat he was there to protect me. One thing that could be bad some have very strong herding instinct and will herd people, other pets, whatever is herdable. BTW he walked away from the cougar encounter without injury yet made it run away. They are smart and agile.
I have two AussieDoddles. After 8 months, they are still an handful. Extremely energetic. But......., they are the most lovable dogs in my history of owning dogs. I was told after the first year, things start to mellow out. I hope so, because I am so tired.
I met one in a Home Depot and instantly fell in love!! Big black and white ball of fur with an awesome personality to match his beauty! I’ve been on here and found some disparaging videos which had me second guessing my original plan of getting one when our sweet boxer/jack russell mix passes, this one has been a great companion, super smart, and full of energy, whom we rescued 10 yrs ago, and any other pet would have some mighty big paws prints to try to walk in. Your video has me even more appreciative of staying on plan with my original path, thank you!!
I was given an Aussiedoodle when she's 6 mos. She's not as focused as you say she should be. She does know her name. But, not quite as focused as you say she could be. She will chase anything that moves. She does always come back. However the running off part isn't good.
I totally agree with this video. I got my Ollie, a Black and Tan toy Aussiedoodle in November and he’s been so quick to training and has such a big, beautiful personality. Everyone I’ve ever met while out with him ends up absolutely adoring him. I couldn’t have picked a better breed or a better puppy. I’ll be an aussiedoodle girl for life.
The outtakes at the end are priceless. 🤣🤣 def have a tornado shelter. Hahaha Serious note, this breed is MAG-nificent. Never bargained for the amount of loyalty, quick wit, expressive, and protective pup we got. Our Koda boy (85 lbs) is a big ol fluffy beast! So good with kids, and my mom and dad who are a little older, and relatively anyone who meets him. Takes a minute to get warmed up, but once they do. "You got a friend in me" as Woody says.
I have a elderly Bicon, & she backs at the oven when she wants dinner, she'll hop in the bathtub to relieve herself if I am sleeping late, she'll bark once to get my attention & look at what she wants, or wants to show me. So far my 1.5 year old AD just stares at me blankly, I get she'll learn I'm watching, & she can have me "hear" her when she needs me to
Thank you so much this video persuaded my parents to get an aussiedoodle and now I have a 13 week old f1 standard blue Merle aussiedoodle. Btw love the vids!
My aussiedoodle is the best. He doesn't like water though and to swim and loves to chase the squirrels and the birds. He loves people and LOVES traveling with us and being with us. He is the love of my life.
I think you made my case for my next dog...Have had a lab and now a border collie. My family, we have 3 herders currently, 13yo-b.c., 3yo cattle dog, 10 week old- Dutch shepherd- last two live away with my daughter but my husband is allergic. So this suits that🙌🎯🙏
The outtakes were great! I would add that people should meet the Breeders + make sure that they are good people and meet the dog parents so that they get a healthy dog. So many dogs are bred just for looks, and have other hidden problems. Friend of mine went to go look at Golden Retrievers and the parent dogs were kept in cages all the time! Not a puppy mill per se since it was just two adult dogs, but no way to treat dogs. Do your homework! Ask questions.
My aussiedoodle, while I love him so dearly and he can be such a sweetheart, seems to have a temper at random times. He has a hard time listening to "alpha authority" and will growl at family members, myself, and our other dog. It's not constant, he just seems to get into a grumpy mood.
The puppy in my profile picture is my 7 month old mini aussiedoodle named Oaklie, she weighs 8 pounds which can be so hard because she has long legs and is easy to find but we ALWAYS end up stepping on her. Anyway all of these things are true they are so amazing.
I had a cockapoo/sheep dog mix as a kid, I called her a cocka-sha-poo..her name was Sassy. Great dog! Had a S. Husky, and 2 G. Shepard since, all great dogs..been 2 yrs since I lost Rebel to cancer, and I think its time for a new dog. I'm thinking about a Blue heeler/Poodle. My Sister has a Golden doodle..it's a good dog, but... THOUGHTS???
Thanks Licia! Our most popular size is about 30 lbs! Kind of right in the middle. It's also the size most common with our Pawrents. Check out our available and upcoming Aussiedoodle puppies here! www.awesomedoodle.com/available-aussiedoodle-puppies/
I've got an Australian Multigenetic Labradoodle. I can understand hos fondness for the Aussie doodle, Australian shepherds are very nice dogs. But everything he he says about the Aussie doodle goes for my Australian labradoodle.
Im getting my mini double doodle in about 4 weeks! Hes chocolate merle (or as some say red/liver merle) I was told he would be a mix of goldendoodle and labradoodle but im pretty sure hes atleast got a bit of aussiedoodle in him.
The one that is on cover of your title I think brown or maybe burgundy you have three of them on your cover title what color is that actually I like that color I think it’s brown or maybe burgundy
Thank you!! I have a golden doodle already and we are getting another dog (deciding between Aussie doodle and bernedoodle) we’re going with the Aussie doodle!!!
Biggest problem is finding one that doesn’t come from a puppy mill. Most people don’t realize mills are legal. The US has more than 10,000 PUPPY MILLS. Please don’t support mills. Find someone who requires you to come and see the parents and meet you. Mills don’t care who you are just that you can pay. If they ship dogs they are a mill. True breeders don’t traumatize puppies by shipping them. True breeders never sell puppies to stores. They want to meet the parents. Puppy mill dogs tend to be very unhealthy. You can go to Akc.org for more info.
Agree totally! Check out the breeder + dog parents. So many dogs are bred for looks, rather than health and temperament. Recipe for disaster. Do your homework!
@@personanon2879 I don’t know if that’s true but I couldn’t find a legit breeder for a border-doodle. My research showed your 100% right. I ended up with a Portuguese Water Dog. I meet the breeder at his house and the female.
Should be the same but some breeders breed the poodle/lab/spaniel dogs and others the poodle/lab/wheaten terrier. There is so much confusion. Some say that the original Australian Labradoodle had other dog breeds included in the mix.
I’m considering getting an Aussiedoodle when I’m older, but I’m leaning towards an F1B that’s 75% Australian Shepherd and 25% Poodle. I want him/her to have a straight coat or a shaggy one. I am steering away from Goldendoodles because they’re WAY too common. I’m leaning towards a Standard between 45-65 pounds. I can’t deal with a small dog (like a Miniature Goldendoodle) because they may get lost easily and they may develop Small Dog Syndrome. If it’s a boy, I’ll name him Jagger; if it’s a girl I’ll name her Lilac.
Awesome Doodle It’s annoying because some dog owners think it’s cute when little dogs bark and snap, but they wouldn’t find it acceptable if it was a larger dog.
I was going to ask you where I could buy a crate and gate? I tried to look at your website and in your video what not to do with your pup. I couldn’t find a reference where to purchase the two items

We agree!
I have one that is one quarter poodle he is very smart and loves his family
How are bernedoodles?

Y R U MAD!?!?
Better be an active person then, because these are herding dogs! They nip and bite to get others in line too, so better train well. ☺

tipperary links thanks for replying! We have a puppy now though, her name is Bailey and she’s an F1b goldendoodle!
Are aussiedoodles to mouthy ( nippers for toddlers age 2 )?
If you teach a puppy to be mouthy, any breed can be too mouthy. Most puppies are very mouthy until they get adult teeth.
True but aussie tend to be more so. I had a regular aussie before and it was a issue even with training. I was hoping the poodle side of the breed would curb that a bit. We might just wait until the littles are older.
I think it also depends on the individual dog. My Aussie Doodle was (naturally) not mouthy as a pup.
We ended up getting a F1b labradoodle. Not as cute as the aussiedoodle but is very loving to my 1 yr old and 2 other children💛
The only flaw in the logic, is he is assuming the "aussy" is the only breed in the "cross breed" we are talking about. Note he never really talks about poodles, though in fact, poodles are great dogs. We DO need to keep in mind this is a CROSS breed.
The poodle is common between crosses. So if the same poodle had puppies with a golden retriever, Australian shepherd, sheepdog, etc the poodle would not be a factor in the differences.
