Finally someone who loves Shannara as much as I do! A friend started to give me her ebooks about ten years ago and I fell in love with it immediately. I just wish I could afford buying the books because I don't like ebooks that much.

I'm just here via a random RUclips recommendation!
Am reading Joe Abercrombie for the 1st time and really loving his style. Think he's going to be near the top with George R. R. Martin for me.
Another fantastic new book/author I read in 2023 was 'Godkiller' by Hannah Kaner. Very snappy writing, nice fast pace, but great world and character building.
    Great collection! 🙂

It's great to mix literary fiction with genre fiction. There is something of value in all types of literature, and so much to learn from them.

What a beautiful library! So well organised and some gorgeous editions. I have added some to my TBR. I too am glad Piranesi won. Like you it’s the only one I had read from the shortlist. I thought it was original, compelling, and satisfying.
I wish you luck in your adventure with the new puppy. I have two older dogs and got a 7 month old. I couldn’t believe how much I forgotten about puppyhood but it all came back. Good and bad! 😊 Please keep us posted. Deb

Hi, I just found your channel from a RUclips recommendation. What a wonderful library you have collected! It was so nice to hear of some book series I had not heard of before and your thoughts on some authors that I hope to read from such as Tad Williams and Guy Gavriel Kay. Glad to hear you enjoyed Mordew. I bought it upon release but have yet to read it but plan on putting it on my November TBR. Thanks for taking the time to share your library.
Hope all is going well with your new pup!

I am so jealous of all your great condition hardbacks of so many hard to find books!! If you ever get burglarized just know I’m responsible 😝
You have so many that are on my TBR. I have the first book of the Many Colored Land and I can’t wait to read it. I have only tried Exiles by Melanie Rawn and I loved the writing but got really lost by the plot. It’s one I want to try again with fresh eyes.
Your Guy Gavriel Kay books are gorgeous! I love those hardbacks. I am reading Lions of Al Rassan next month. I tried Tigana a couple years ago and didn’t love it even tho I loved the writing style.
Those editions of Ian Irvine’s books are divine! I have the mass markers and those have pretty art work too, but wowser those covers are sublime! I can’t wait to read those too.
Have you read Sean Russell? I feel like we have talked about him before. But given how you feel about Tad and Guy Gavriel Kay and Hobb, I think you would like him. Beautifully written books, and he does what so many epic fantasists can’t- writes short books haha
Okay this video was beyond a delight. I will be returning to it again and again to gaze at these covers and find recs. If you ever want to buddy read a fantasy novel let me know 😊

I stumbled upon this video because I too love book shelf tours. They are a great way to find new authors from other readers. Thank you for showcasing some lesser known works in fantasy and I plan to add several to my own list.
I am now a subscriber and I look forward to your thoughts on Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell. It is one of my favorite novels.
May I recommend The Kingdoms of Thorn and Bone series by Greg Keyes? The first book is The Briar King. One of the reasons I watch these tours is to find anyone else who has read and loved this hidden gem of a series.
    Thank you again.

Gorgeous collection! I'm fairly new to the genre but I stumbled across the Mark Lawrence books after a reading slump due to a loss and they pulled me right out of it. China Mieville I enjoyed and just purchased Tad Williams. Sometimes its hard to know where to start, so many books and series! Thanks for sharing your collection!

Such a great collection! I'm starting JV Jones Sword of Shadows series next year! I think 4 or 5 are out but she is currently working (and almost finished) with the next one! I have very high hopes for that series. I read City of Lies earlier this year and liked it. I'm picking up Hollow Empire this month. I'm starting the Stormlight Archive series next year (and Malazan, two big ones) and I'm very excited for it!
I'm a little bit jealous of your beautiful collection and especially the older fantasy series you own. I want to read more 'backlist' fantasy next year since I'm pretty new to the genre and I've been reading a lot of what is currently coming out but things pre 2000 have not been on my radar until now. the Kushiel series is another one I want to get to next year. I tried Magician by Feist and didn't like it that much but I'm eager to try more of the '80 and '90.
I'm around halfway but am going to continue reading without commenting because I'm making way too many comments 😅 Great bookshelf tour!
Oh I spot Robin Hobb, you have the beautiful Farseer trilogy editions!

Love this collection and the video!
Where would you recommend starting with Tad Williams works? And is there any dutch fanatsy writer that you can recommend whose books have been translated to german or english? I don't think I can quite manage to read a book in dutch. I am always looking for more good non-american fantasy writers.
And I am a bit surprised you only got the basics of Tolkien! D: Currently reading Beren and Luthien and I love it so much. Children of Hurin is also amazing and just as good as the popular tolkien works! And there is a serious lack fo Pratchett in this collection :D

I love your collection! Regarding the Shadow and Bone trilogy, I would recommend honestly just not reading them. I recently read the first two and then had to DNF the last one. However, the sequel duology is very different and I’m currently reading it. It has a much more interesting plot and with great characters. The original trilogies characters weren’t that good to be honest.

But gotta check you on something...
The Legend film with Tom Cruise has nothing to do with David Gemmell's Legend book from the Drenai series

Where did you get all those magnificent hardcover books? I'm going to be starting the Farseer Trilogy soon. I've never read Robin Hobb. Ruin And Rising is the best book in the Shadow And Bone series. It has a sad ending, in my opinion. Give The Name Of The Wind a second chance. I loved both it and A Wise Man's Fear. Unfortunately, Rothfuss is like George Martin; he won't finish the damm book. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing your collection.

@@Leoslittlebooklife also; the Netflix Shadow And Bone series is combined with Leigh Bardugo's Six Of Crows; a mash up of the two series; so you'll need to read that one as well to get the full version of that world.
