Ha ha ha! More singing on the channel! Now that your books are shelved (except those in that missing box?), you are truly home, Ed. Congratulations on the new digs! If you do move along with Malazan, I will be most curious to hear your thoughts! Hooray for the sagas! And I will be curious to hear how you find The Mabinogion. My guess was 1,000 books, but you'll get there eventually. I look forward to Will's bookshelf tour too!
Years of practise is now paying dividends😂 I have finally found the books and they are happily reunited on the shelved. Thanks so much Philip! I'll certainly be continuing with Malazan again this year. Truth and courage! Ed
A good bookshelf tour never fails to bring me joy! You have a beautiful collection, Ed! You know, if you ever run out of space, I would volunteer to take over some books if it's really necessary, just thought I'd share ;) Also, those Bloodsworn saga covers have no business being THAT gorgeous... Totally not drooling over here 👀🤩
Oh yeah, I read A Little Life and Shuggie Bain back to back. Heart wrenching but both SO Good! I love the interaction between you guys! Cute dog. Michael Crichton in with your Bernard Cornwell? I have that book by MC but have not read it, need to put it in a different pile. Oh, loved The Son, they made a tv show or movie of it but I haven't seen it yet. As a book lover, I truly enjoyed watching this. Makes me want to go and rearrange my shelves! Knick Knackage? ha ha! I haven't room for much knick knackage on my shelves. Thanks for sharing your books with us.
I didn't know that 1,000 books was the minimum to say it's a library; that's a cool trivia bit! I purchased book number 5,000 in December 2022. So call me a librarian haha. My kiddo told me "Mom, if you ever get really hard up for money you could just put an OPEN sign on the front door and start a used bookshop." Hahaha - I got a huge laugh out of that, because AS IF I'd ever sell them.
If this helps: Aristotle finds that tragedy deals with serious, important, and virtuous people. Comedy, on the other hand, treats of less virtuous people and focuses on human "weaknesses and foibles".
Mary Renault was writing Greek myth adaptations way before it was cool (she died in the 80s). She was also gay before it was socially acceptable. She was a remarkable woman. My favorite of hers is The King Must Die which is a retelling of Theseus.
@@thebrothersgwynne no like we ever needed it, 😁😁😁, with or without extra space buying books is a great hobby🤭, but is always good have a place to put them 😁, nice collection, now waiting to see Will's bookshelves
@@thebrothersgwynne I think the easier question would be what didn't! And even then I don't think I could answer. I had to widen my Native American collection / knowledge with Scalp Dance. I'm getting quite a shelf from your recommendations.
Wow, what a variety!
10/10 throat singing 😂😂😂
I love how you display your sister's favorite book. Continued prayers to you.and your family.
Thank you Emily, that really means a lot.
Ed
So I see you were a Dragonology kid too huh 👀
That book must have been the backbone of my childhood fantasy upbringing!
Literally THE best books ever!

Ed
Great job you two! Looks so good, love it.
I do think it’s only fair I get the empty shelf though Ed…
Thank you for your help darling. I think maybe we should compromise and let me have it...

Heartbreaking aren’t they!
The dog says thank you.
Have you seen the 13th Warrior film? Based on the MC book.
Knick knackage Will appears soon!
Ed
@@thebrothersgwynne No I have not seen the 13th warrior, I'll seek it out, thanks.
I was about to comment on the fact the shadow of the gods was facing the wrong way. And then you fixed it! ❤️ 🎉
Can’t believe we didn’t notice it until then!😂
Ed
@@thebrothersgwynne you know I kept wondering if you did it on purpose to trigger peoples OCD 😂
Lol I noticed that as well.

That’s amazing!

Laughing the whole way through this!! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!

@@thebrothersgwynne lovely set up!! And completely empathise with the excitement over more space for books!

5,000?! That’s amazing. You really need to open a Book Look Shop! Lots of people would love to come and marvel at your library! 😅

Certainly a unique way to stack your shelves. Pleased to see Butcher's Crossing & Birdsong. Surprised to see Joyce.
Thanks…I think😂 Butcher’s Crossing is amazing.
Why surprised?

I’ve loved the Alexander books so far. Really excited to read The King Must Die. She’s so important to the genre.

I was a full grown adult when I learned that the author of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is the same one who wrote the James Bond series.
I was also a full grown adult (this morning) when I read this. Thank you!

Do you know how hard it would have been to go through this video without buying something? I obviously failed.
I thank you. My bank account doesn't. 😂
