I started noticing Mazdas a couple months ago because of a CX-30 and now I'm obsessed. This CX-5 is making me reconsider all my future purchases hahaha
Absolutely no leg room in the back seats. Just looked at the 30 and the 5. Ended up with Volkswagen Tiguan SE. To me it drives better and a lot of room!
@@christinaraymond884 There is enough leg room, especially in the CX-5. "Excellent" choice... VW is #27 in reliability, has a high TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) - double vs. Mazda, a champion of low TCO (and mostly in Top 3 in reliability). The most important indicators of a good car are the reliability and the TCO. Shallow criteria to purchase for the use of snowflakes: colour, electronic features, big screen, automatic transmission / CVT, preferably a BEV (electric clunker, unreliable, huge TCO, unsafe, plenty of electronics, huge screen, touch instead of physical buttons, controllable, impractical etc.).
We just bought a 24 model in Machine Gray. a couple of weeks ago. I'm kind of glad it doesn't have the cylinder deactivation and start/stop. I'll take the hit in fuel economy for better long term reliability.
I have the 2025 with deactivation but it doesn’t really turn on if you dont step on the brake too hard on a stop and also ther’s a button you can push if you don’t want the feature
Wise move, I have a 2019 Jeep compass with start/stop and just had to replace the battery. It cost more than $200 more due to start/stop. So all the supposed savings was out the window. Now that's not including future repairs to the engine due to start/stop.
I just got a 23 preferred used, eyeing this up for my next upgrade. going to wait til either 26 or next gen comes out so I can compare, but I love the luxury feel of the current gen.
I have always been a Honda person, but just purchased 2025 premium plus because we gave our 2019 CRV loaded SUV to daughter after she totaled her vehicle in an accident. What we got in amenities in this CX5 we would never get with Honda as everything is an add-on. Hondas attitude is your lucky, it's a Honda. Mazda should be come look at our vehicles. Because once in the door, you see the difference in the quality, amenities, and sticker price.
A few days ago I visited a Mazda dealership. The CX-5 Premium Plus is beautiful inside & out. You get a lot of car for the money. But it has a drawback: fuel economy. The 2024 models only get 23/29 mpg city/hwy driving. Since I do a lot of city driving I need better mpg. The 2025 model gets 26/30 mpg, but that's because of the i-stop and cylinder deactivation feature. I've been reading many complaints about this feature from CX-5 owners. You need to do research before you buy the 2025. If you are ok with 23 mpg in the city then consider the 2024 model. Right now Mazda is offering 0% interest financing and a $1000 bonus on 2024 models.
If the turbo models didn't exist, I think I'd still get the Premium Plus trim over one of the turbo trims, but I personally love the Carbon Turbo & Signature trims. I wish you could get a lighter interior color in the Signature trim though. The Carbon Edition & the Premium Plus are the best trims before stepping up to one of the turbo trims
No but there’s a button to push- easy but you just have to push it every start. But It doesnt turn on when i drive coz i don’t push my break hard on a stop so it does not activate really
We purchased a ‘24 cx5 I presume when the chips were not available for istop . Not that we want it ?? , but I wonder if Mazda would install it now on their dime ??
Cylinder deactivation cuts the fuel and spark to one cylinder when, for example, cruising at a constant speed on level ground. In essence, you drop from a four-cylinder engine to a three-cylinder engine, saving fuel, but the full four cylinders are available when more power is needed, unlike a true three-cylinder engine.
I have cx-5 and had cx-50 for two weeks. Cx-5 is less pricey, 40-20-40 split seats allows to transport ski and rugs while having four passengers. Cx-50 has wide seats , light steering, more sportier than cx-5. I felt cx-50 preferred is adequate comparing cx-5 turbo! Cx-50 stock audio quality is on par with Bose! Try both, you can’t go wrong in either one of them!
Keep in mind that the CX-50 is larger and fuel economy is less. But the 2025 CX-50 will be available as a hybrid. They are expected to be on dealer lots before 2024 is over.
Driving the CX5 since 2018. Wanted to upgrade next year to a new CX5 with a different design and other improvements. Looking at the 2025 edition with an unchanged design again, I almost threw up. Mazda ran out of ideas. I'll drive an Alfa Romeo Stelvio next year.
@tjtv7260 Is the bottom cladding painted? I don't think 2023 in US didn't had it painted except turbo trims. I liked the other wheels with the silver & black.
@@briansturm6618 mine isn’t painted I have chrome rims on mine with some black on them but I wish I had the premium plus they literally have more options
Mazda still sells new vehicles without navigation SD card. That is extra charge, and so are the updates. What a slap in the face... I also hate Daylight Running Lights. Why ? They are not mandatory in the USA. Don't install them by default. Does anyone know how to disable them?
@@JSS True. But if the vehicle is advertised as having "navigation" SD card should be included. They shouldn't have left it out forcing customers to buy it, or use their phones in its place. What's next, leaving radio out and assuming customers will use their own.
Love the cx5 but Mazda is really milking it, the design is almost 8 yrs old it’s time for a new modern interior like the cx70 and 90’s version hopefully it will be BEV no more gas.
He is simply stating and showing the features of the vehicle, so you are trolling and OBVIOUSLY you just posted some negative BS before you even watched the video.
I pick up my 2025 premium plus Monday. So excited.
Who cares (Nobody-Cares)

Beside the beautiful design, Mazda has a top reliability and a very low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) - check statistics.

Got this with the black leather.... very happy😊
Looks great, definitely looks and feels premium

How do I see on my dashboard my tire pressure on my CX5 Premium Plus??
I really wish this Parchment leather was available with the Signature trim since the Caturra Brown Nappa leather is so dark

Is there any way to deactivate the istop permanently?
No but there’s a button to push- easy but you just have to push it every start. But It doesnt turn on when i drive coz i don’t push my break hard on a stop so it does not activate really
All the fancy (and many un-necessary) electronic gadgets but there'still a STICK supporting the open hood !
I like the stick bc the hydronic went out on my 07 is350 and it was a pain!
Isn’t it too cramped in the back for two or three adults the leg room seems not enough. What about the head room?
Those front and back sensors stop the car automatically to prevent accidents or it just beeps to alert you?
My favorite color of the CX 5 ever!
Should I expect a low APR special before the end of the year?
Does the turn by turn show up on HUD when using Android Auto?
Yes
Not bad I like the machine gray, I have jet black mica on my cx5 preferred
What are your thoughts on the 2025 Mazda having cylinder deactivation ? Is there any concern about problems with the system or engine down the road?
Any changes from 2024 ?
Yes, the 2025 has i-stop and cylinder deactivation, which provides 26 mpg in city driving. But some people don't like this feature.
We purchased a ‘24 cx5 I presume when the chips were not available for istop . Not that we want it ?? , but I wonder if Mazda would install it now on their dime ??

Allegedly coming in 2026
Yeah! 😊
@@briansturm6618 I admire your optimism!:))

Can anyone detail what cylinder deactivation is - and why it’s a good and or bad thing to have?
When the engine stops at a red light, you won't have the oil pump pumping oil to cool and lubricate the engine causing more wear and tear.
