There it is! This is the version of the Boxster that dealerships will charge the highest "additional dealer markup" (ADM) ! Get ready to pay at least $100,000 over Porsche's declared MSRP. ADM you ask? ADM is the blind eye that Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) and its president Kjell Gruner turns towards United States dealerships. Dealerships in the US have tacit permission from PCNA to charge an ADM that is hundreds of thousands of dollars ABOVE the MSRP. Case in point: the Porsche Dakar -- Braman Porsche in Florida charges $150,000 ADM over the $223,000 MSRP. That's right -- $473,000 for the Dakar. In other countries, ADMs are illegal. Some honorable Porsche dealerships don't charge ADMs. Braman clearly isn't one of those. Any of the limited run models will have excessive ADM applied. And the real kick in the shorts -- if you're lucky enough to get an allocation for one of these, you'll likely get T-boned by the dealership's owner, who will take the first allocation. So, you'll get the 2nd allocation -- *IF* that dealership can even get a 2nd allocation for the rare, limited variants. So, get prepared for that gut punch. Case in point: The owner of Porsche in Nashua NH gets his first. He took the first Dakar. Slimy. Porsche is selling MORE cars and is making MORE money than its own projectsions. You can fact-check this in the news. With all of that profit, why isn't Porsche propping up its dealers so that ADMs aren't charged. That would lead to more sales! Just put this engine in a regular convertible and you have the perfect Porsche. I want this engine in a car that's comfortable to daily, I'm not worried about the best track time by pro drivers and a few pounds of weight saved for a manual roof, door handles that are just nylon loops, etc.

Your reply notwithstanding, your experience underscores the fact that PCNA does nothing to standardize the experience, thus failing on it mission statement to the consumers by letting dealerships behave randomly. Overall, this tarnishes the Porsche brand for many who can afford the variant models but who refuse to purchase when knee-capped by the dealerships' ADMs.

When my car was delivered in July 2022, the dealership honored the contract price we originally agreed on. No additional costs were included in my purchase other than the normal fees, taxes, and registration. I was fortunate that I worked with an great salesman and I will definitely work with him again for a future order. I know that many dealerships are charging over MSRP. I’ve seen shocking markups listed on stickers at Audi and BMW recently.
Beautiful ad, beautiful car, hope to first time drive the 718 Spyder in two weeks, yet I have still one question after just double checking - why there is still no LED matrix light option on 718, including the RS spyder? It is 2023 and best option it still has is PDLS basic LED.
Parts and materials shortages for 2023 are why. I was able to get one of the last LED PDLS+ options for my 2022 custom order 718. It hasn’t been offered since, even for late 2022 orders. Perhaps it will return as an option for 2024.

Most are presold only to their friends and those willing too add $100k or much more to the price. At Ferrari I may wait years but I will eventually get a car at MSRP. Porsche, you designated allocations for the Sports Classic. Now do it with GT cars. Give enthusuasts that will actually use them the way they were intended, Give us a chance to enjoy them rather than only seeing them sitting silently in climate controlled showplaces. They should be kept that way only after they have had a full and useful life on the track and on challenging roads.
Spyder RS definitely better than a Huracan Evo Spyder. F6 engines are more reliable, and easier to repair as compared to V12s on a Lambo...Both have similar high revving engine sound as well
Exciting car no doubt. I have the 2023 Spyder and it's insanely fun. But ... I gotta admit I am surprisingly disappointed with this RS launch. First, that launch color on a special Spyder is just ... meh. Needs to be g-red, or bring back one of the famous racing livery blues or yellows. Grey?? Even metallic silver would be better. Second, the intakes look great on the GT4RS, because they are the same as racing cars. But they look oddly contrived on the Spyder.
