It can go over by only 25%, so I would keep it under 1200 W. Over panelling helps get more power earlier/later in the day. At noon you are wasting power because of that, but at least you are bringing in more earlier. I debate with myself over-paneling or just getting a larger charge Controller

the epever can be over paneled with if i recall 1500w of solar it will just ramp the power back to always give max of 40 amp into the battery

@@tennesseevalleysolar4101 it may waste power at mid day but they is a better chance of steady current rather then fluctuating and charging unsteadily
What size generator are you using for charging the system on cloudy days ?
I have been using a 2500 w peak generator but have recently added a 4500 w gen I also use
