If you are having trouble viewing image and video thumbnails in Windows 10, there could be a few different reasons for this:
Thumbnail previews are turned off: Windows 10 allows you to turn off thumbnail previews for faster browsing. To check if this is the case, open File Explorer, click on the "View" tab in the ribbon, and make sure the "Preview pane" and "Details pane" options are checked. If they are, try toggling the "Preview" button in the "Layout" section of the ribbon.
Thumbnail cache is corrupted: If the thumbnail cache is corrupted, Windows may not be able to display thumbnails properly. To fix this, open File Explorer and go to "View" → "Options" → "View". Under "Advanced settings", check the box next to "Always show icons, never thumbnails" and click "Apply". Then uncheck the same box and click "Apply" again to rebuild the thumbnail cache.
File type is not associated with a thumbnail preview: Windows only displays thumbnail previews for certain file types by default. If you are trying to view a file type that does not have a thumbnail association, you may not see a preview. You can try installing a third-party program or codec that supports thumbnail previews for that file type.
System files or folders are hidden: If system files or folders are hidden, you may not see thumbnail previews for those files. To check if this is the case, open File Explorer and click on the "View" tab. Make sure the "Hidden items" checkbox is checked.
Display driver is outdated or incompatible: Outdated or incompatible display drivers can cause issues with thumbnail previews. Try updating your display driver to see if that resolves the issue.

Best guide... Geek squad wanted to come to the store to figure out why my photos wouldn't display after they did a windows update, and bios update which i paid $200 for. Thx this tutorial saved me unecesary money from them jerks that should of checked it wasnt working by default.. I had to manual save it on custom and only checked performace, and the thumbnails..
