Dougherty's response at 6:15 was gold: strong women have always been at the forefront of sci-fi/horror films, about time the rest of the world took notice that strong women are good characters, not political pandering. Yet another reason genre films are where I live. It's why there'll never need to be a 'female-centric' horror film, female starring roles are the norm.
That's not the point he was making tho, sci-fi/horror film chicks are really full of bullshit mostly but Godzilla had so d of the best of them in the old movies.
I’m glad Mike pointed out that there have always been strong women in the classic Godzilla films. Not many people realize that. It’s great he pointed that out. So excited to see this movie.
My favorites are Tomoko (the karate chick) from Godzilla vs. Gigan (1972), Emmy from Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991), Major Tsujimori from Godzila X Megaguirus (2000), and Akane from Godzilla X Mechagodzilla (2002).

@D core lol bro you're popping up on every Godzilla video with your weirdly aggressive attempts to get everyone to hate this movie. That's way more comical lol. It's ok if other people enjoy things you don't, you know. You're just wasting a lot of energy trying to spread hate that no one seems to share.
@D core The burden of proof lies on you. Where did Dougherty say something incorrect about the classic series? Enlighten us, rather than making empty claims.

The movie could at least be 2 hours and 45 minutes long, hopefully it will be the best movie of this year I have extremely high expectations for it, and hopefully the humans do not take up majority of the screentime!
Um, I have one question. Is Monsterverse going to put new characters like Baragon, Manda, Varan and Anguirusu in solo movies? They need more screentimes in Hollywood more than Kong and Gamera.
The question I would like to ask would be to Ken Watanabe and it would be whether or not he would be interested in appearing in any of the Toho Godzilla films.
