The main issue with the game is that it's disappointing, it doesn't take advantage of the premise of Eggman taking over the world. The levels are too short and the level design is bland and boring. The physics are ass. They set up a villain who's supposed to be much more powerful than Sonic, but he's defeated as easily as anything else. Shadow and Chaos are never even fought as bosses, despite being featured prominently in advertising. I do think a major issue with Sonic games is that they don't get the time and/or budget they need. Sonic's not a big deal in Japan, so I imagine that the people in charge of Sega don't care that much about the series. Plus they always sell well regardless of how low quality they are, so they have no incentive to care. Hopefully this will change after Frontiers as that game did have some popularity in Japan.
Yeah, and it's no wonder that Chris and Adam think the game is fine when Corey is the one playing almost the entire game. Visually, the game looks good and has exciting-*looking* thing happening, but that's just it--they only *look* cool. Most of this entire game is just spectacle, no skill needed.
Some of Knuckle's stages are fun too and the boring ones and bad parts of the good ones are still fun and tolerable because of the cool songs Knuckles gets for his levels.
