I’m a 15 year old musician from the UK who’s currently learning to produce. It would be awesome to win because I’ve tried a demo of the Antares stuff and it was really good, much better than logics stock autotune (in my opinion of course.)
@@MusicTechHelpGuy Have you tried Pitch Monster? it is way cheaper (I bought it for USD$49,00) and it is easy to obtain this results. . . also Little Alter Boy (but that is about $199,00, maybe 99 when on sale)
If it works for someone, I did the exact same steps without watching this tutorial but if you want to have control over all the harmonies, I would recommend you to solo every harmony inside harmony engine and bounce it in place, so you will end up having all separate tracks to process as you like! And btw, thanks for the throat length tip, didn't even see it down there. However I tried it the way you showed and I feel like most people should try this by ear, this allows you to get a better understanding of when you want your harmonies to sound "higher pitched" or lower
I am a former street performer based in India and this plug-in was something I would see only in big studios those days as none of us would be able to buy it as it also required ilock :) ... but the way you showed what can be done with it , makes me so interested to experiment it on my folk music album and I have saved this video to relearn it when I record tracks :) .... fingers crossed 🤞
Hi. My name is Orrin. I like what you did with the Harmony Engine in this video. I personally would love to see what else you would come up with in showing more examples of using the Harmony Engine in other scenarios. Please do more. Good luck to you in your future endeavors with your music.
Great video! I would love to see more videos like this especially combining with the Choir plugin and possibly throat & using your midi controller. Thanks for posting this
Hi! I'm working in my final project at college and really need this plugin to work on my vocal harmonies! This tutorial is what I was looking for! Thank you so much!
Hi Gabriela, I noticed you left your email address with a different RUclips account than the one that you made the original comment with. Just so I can verify it's actually you, can you please leave your email address using the same account you made the original post with? Just trying to make sure people aren't cheating and stealing prizes from other people.
Hi Gabriela, I know it sounds OCD, but please sign into the same account that you left the winning comment with, and type in your email address here in the comments. Technically, anyone could email saying that they are the winner. I'm sorry if it's a pain, I'm just trying to make sure people aren't stealing prizes for each other. Thanks.
Holy cow this harmony engine would be amazing! It makes it it way easier than just recording multiple takes. Hahah especially if you dont know how to do it well.
Thank you, Josh, but I purchased this, read the manual, watched the video, and used it for over a month. Then I decided to record my vocals into the iPhone and then transferred them into the logic sampler, which is phenomenal! A B'd the two and although the vocal harmonies sound average at best when mixed carefully, there was no match for the real vocal samples that I harmonised-just amazing. So deleted the Harmony Engine. This would be great for dance and modern out there pop, but definitely not for me, but hey, great for many people out there.
Yes, the side chain method of generating from a midi controller would be a great video, especially since the method seems to have changed in the latest update (black window instead of the previous silver/blue one).
I finally bought this plugin after watching so many cool videos about it. I'm still experimenting with it to decide which is the optimal way to use this plugin in Logic. I would love if you made a video on how to insert this plugin the optimal way in Logic. Your videos are the best out there
Sounded great with 1 or 2 harmonies but it started to sound extremely robotic when you started to add more. I think I’d probably really limit it to 1 or 2 harmonies at most.
At last! I've been waiting for so long for you to tutorial this plug-in! :) Please could you do a full tutorial on this? Especially with all the different MIDI input settings, sidechaining etc for like a Bon Iver /James Blake sound.
I don't know crap about musical notes tbh. When I use harmony engine I play each one by ear as it's pretty easy to hear whats in tune and what's not while soloing each one.
It sounds better than the old Quadravox and Pitchproof. Waves Harmony? I wonder what Antares has used to manage formant, eq and other factors to make this sound more realistic? How long before A.I. impacts vocal harmonies…. I wonder…
Could you explain how to sent up a midi track in Logic Pro with this plugin so I can sing and play cords live at the same time to record it. Using the cords on my keyboard with my vocals together. Thanks
Seems like you could make it even more humanized by using a separate take of the main vocal for your harmony track. Those slight variations would make the generated harmony feel more varied from the main track and more convincing. Yes?
Powerful , Thanks for this fantastic video!!!!. I don't get a lot of time right now for regular work involvement., but my question is I have cakewalk . How do I get the harmony parts I want to use just for a particular segment only...... to play or record. Once I add the plug in ... I.m getting harmony all through the entire project I just want on certain section. Thanks, if this is understandable what I am asking!! Thanks a Billion Flow!!
Great video thank you. Question though...if I'm the artist doing this myself and sending to an audio engineer after would typically an engineer prefer me to send the stereo of the 4 harmony voice channels combined one stem like in this video how it's done here or would it be more advisable to split each of the 4 harmony voice channels into individual separate mono stems for the engineer to mix i.e. one copy pasted mono stem for the 3rd up harmony, a separate mono stem for the 6th down, separate mono stem for the 4th down, and separate mono stem for the 8va?
Great video again, this looks like a fun plugin to play around with. There stereo sound on that soloed guitar track sounds awesome too. I would love to know how that was accomplished.
When I am on midi omni mode, it dosnt recognize my sustain pedal anymore?? So i have to hold a chord on my midi instead of just holding the sustain pedal.. Anyone know why??
I’m on the fence about virtual harmonies. They’re probably fine for hip hop and pop, but for rock, jazz, blues and soul, I think real backups are way better.

I've had this harmony engine for quite a while now, and your explanation is quite helpful. I would really like for you to expand more on this topic.

This was so helpful and a bliss to watch. Thanks so much bro. ♥
Yooooooo, love the video! Great in-depth showcase of what this plugin can do. Love Antares and all of their products.
Just bought it. Thanks for an excellent vocal to demonstrate it.
Thanks. Great as usual. Per your advice, I subscribed to Antares' RUclips page as well.
This was so helpful thankful for going through your process!!

EXCELLENT!! more tutorial(s) digging into the Midi control of Harmony Engine would be fantastic.
Hokey Smoke, Bullwinkle! Harmony Engine demystified in less than 15 minutes. Well done, sir.
The guitar riff sounds like it’d be in a drippin so pretty song
thanks josh, yes can you do a video demonstrating the routing in logic of the midi controlled option for the harmonies? thanks!!
Sounds great, I'd love this!

Great video and what a beautiful plugin - can't get enough of Bon Iver & James Blake these days!
Great video, very helpful. I would love to see more tutorials with this plug-in. A deeper dive into harmony engine would be great!
This is dope!!!
Wow! Thanks for the video. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is a super nice plugin, could see myself getting a lot of use out of this.
Oh yea! Gonna have fun today using the engine to create a gospel choir from one voice!
I love the bouncy dance hall vibe

Already a few comments from people asking for a tutorial covering using MIDI to create a tailor-made harmony. I'd love to see that 👋

My autotune has always sounded terrible so much so I don't even use it. Man needs this
Great vid as always👍🏼 would love to be able to use this on my projects!
i always experiment with the sounding of my songs, id loved to try something new with this awesome antares plugin!
This is the sound I hear in some songs I try to recreate it but just wouldn't get this sound. I really would love this.
You don’t need telling how useful this plugin would be to use on mix’s.

Thanks for the video! Please show us how to midi control the harmony engine so we are not confined by scale and can work chromatically..

I wanna see the Omni midi effect and see how that sounds!
Would you place both Auto tune pro and Harmony Engine plugin on same vocal channel?
