Why don't you start listening with your ears and not your eyes? If you know anything about pro audio and what's out there, you'd now F1 has a very poor sound resolution. I have worked with them for years, and they are not a system I would ever choose for any kind of music with detail. They work well for some simplistic styles of electronic music, and I like them for that, but they are not the best - far, far from it.
@@MrFabioxz Very little experience with them. I was at Distortion Island four weeks ago, two stages out of six had F1 Evo systems. By far the worst sounding scenes. Main stage had a wonderful Meyer system. Night and day difference.
@@unknownregions5014 Stop yourself right there. I have also seen Tony’s videos. What I talk about, has nothing to do with any of that. I have worked with those systems for years, I have also worked venues where Newsham set up the systems with me. Source material? We’re talking live audio here. Fact is that F1 systems struggle a lot of any kind of music which has a complex sound structure. A track like Mau P’s Drugs From Amsterdam will sound fine, but if you play say Vini Vici Distorted Reality and it completely falls apart. Now try a rock song and it gets even worse. I have stood the night before an open air classical concert phoning in a Meyer system after having spent half a day trying to get the Evo 7 system I was given, to sound good for what we were doing. There’s a reason why you don’t see them at live shows and why they are losing traction, and it is not just from a lack of marketing.
Fortunate was I in my younger days to work with TurboSound and then Funktion One. I have not heard anything better since in the live sound reinforcement space. I am almost convinced that the modern love affair for line arrays is one of economics rather than love of quality sound reinforcement. Even got to work with a Res 9 here or there years back, monumental.
That sounds so biased. I have worked with both as well, and have done several setups with Newsham as well. I like the older Turbo for live sound, but the F1 stuff just does not work at all. They have really poor resolution, and they really struggle with any kind of music that has any kind of complexity. If you have never heard anything better for live than F1, you have either not heard much, or you can't hear.
@@AB-80X I wasn't clear enough in my original comment, perhaps it would make more sense to you if I said I only really did it for dance music type gigs? Live sound implies bands which I don't have much experience of (I should probably have said sound reproduction pertaining to dance music) which might be the root of the misunderstanding. For the applications we deployed it, typically large dance music events be it in a field on the Isle of Wight or in the NEC in Birmingham it performed well to my ear. I am not saying you are incorrect but it is rare to find someone who doesn't like Funktion One for this application.
I remember a time when these systems dominated glastonbury festival. Those were the days. Now its all line arrays and they are massively disappointing. Slightest breeze and its like listening to a tape cassette with a worn out drive belt.
Lol, no it does not! It's a great system they have now. They got rid of it because they had so many complaints about it. Use your bloody ears! F1 systems don't do music that demands any kind of resolution.
Very nice and wholesome video. Res2 is definitely one of the best designed fullrange tops ever made
Are you for real? They aren't eve full range, and far from the best.
Best sounding loudspeakers in the game. I know its gonna be a good night when I spot F1s in the venue
Funktion-One dance stacks have the finest audio quality of any system out there

Only if I had the money, I would buy Funktion One for my home, and If i ever owned a club, F1 all the way
You would hate F1 at home. Piss poor resolution.
@@AB-80X Not at all, it comes down to audio source quality and how it is setup at home. I know these systems very well.

What do they cost? Sub and all?
Party speakers at home - not a good idea.
