- METAL ROOF SCRIBING
In this video I’m going to talk about hand scribing.
So in the photo behind me you see what looks like shark teeth. It’s a ridge cap sitting on top of the roof, and the roofer blazed it cotton socks has tried to scribe in the ridge cap.
Unfortunately, in doing so he is created what we could consider a bit of a mess. In the next shot you see how it should look how hand scribing should be cut in to fill in the shape of the corrugation.
Any scribing that is looking like a shark’s teeth is incorrect. Quality workmanship is always a must and scribing is no exception.

Comparing the first and second shot, the first shark teeth one appears to have far less gap based on the shadowing.
Came here for a demonstration not a dictionary
But you've bagged someone's work and done nothing about showing how it ought to be done
That's right! I came here to see the technique and went away with nothing...
From 0:35 onwards you're showing how the scribing should be done but there isn't a screw on every second rib as per the code.
Pot. Kettle. Black.
Second one look slightly prettier, first one looks tighter.
I have seen way better scribing than both of these.
