Hello, Tom here. If you mean the gold coloured metal rod I cut up to make the jock shift handle, it was an old caravan jack handle. I'm guessing that a handle like that would be found at a car dismantlers yard, slash bone yard. Many cars had jack handles like that. Just don't use the one out of one your family's cars, you'll end up in the dog house. Hope this helps👍

Great job Tom. Also agree on the plastic engine cover. Why they zip-tied the cables in I'll never no. First oil change over last weekend - never goning to get the oil as hot as they tell you to. It was like water and went all over the place. Gonna drain it cool after overnight from a run, and just leave it drain for a bit longer.

Thank you very much. I'm with you on the oil. What is the problem with draining cold or just warm. Although, as I type that I had a thought. The 5 cylinder Volvo diesel in the old Ford Ranger had to be refilled el-pronto otherwise it would not pick up the fresh oil. I believe the Rotax engine runs a dry sump which means the oil is not directly under the crankshaft, but in another part of the engine. Still can't see why it has to be drained hot🤔.
