- I've heard so much about the ring doorbell. Really impressed with how stable the connection is. First is the peephole ring doorbell where i installed it at my door. And the installation is so easy, anybody can do it. Second, I installed a Ring wired doorbell where I show you how to link in a HDB home. This requires a bit more effort but worth it for the long run use!

Any installation service?
Have you got permission from HDB to install the Ring doorbell? According to them it is considered a CCTV and you are not allowed to install such a device without approval.

I have both the door bell and chime, working well
I am using the ring door view cam for more than a year. On top of the security festures, it allows u to interact with postmen or delivery people even when u are not at home. The ring app is constantly updated to add more features.
i have also a ring doorbell( peephole).its very good.
Anything you recommend that has the lock built in to the door? ie, able to unlock the door remotely from an app if you're not home. Camera is required as well.

Hi, do you know if there is a lag between the detection of motion and the video starts recording? I know there are some brands which are not able to capture the initial couple of seconds. I am wondering if you have notice for this brand.

Thanks for the in-depth review. My door directly faces my neighbour's. Can I switch off the time-lapse camera and only have the camera record when someone is ringing my doorbell?
1. yup you can off snapshot capture > which is the time-lapse
2. or even off motion detection
3. leaving only ring alerts
There are more features within the app for advanced motion detection, privacy zone (u can block out neighbour's front door) and the list keeps growing everytime they update the app
Hi mads, for the hardwiring need to drill on the door? Is it easy for beginners to replace them if it spoils or got outdated? I guess using the rechargeable is out of question, as it's just too much hassle. I'll be getting my bto soon.

there’s so many versions of the doorbell, i’m abit confused. just to check… the Ring doorbell wired doesn’t work with the existing chime right? so does that mean i must get the Ring chime or is there other options for a chime for my house? thanks for any feedback or advice!
It should work with existing ring chime. Just link it together
Is the doorbell connection at 0:57 for the chime sound? I'm in resale HDB and I don't have doorbell system ...so if I don't care about the chime sound , I just need a hole in the wall to the outside for adapter connection, right? Chime sound probably connect to Alexa or Google hub to get

Is there a lag from the time someone presses the doorbell to the chime actually ringing? I rem the first version of this product had this issue. And also, how fast does your phone alert you when someone presses the bell?

Your neighbours have the right to ask you to take it down if they are not comfortable. Eg if it’s pointing at the door. For my situation. I did check with my Neighbor and they are alright with it

Get the Amazon Echo instead of the chime, I have the Echo 5 and it will show who’s at the door when pressing the doorbell.

Hi , my current HDB doorbell is connected to a battery operated chime. If i connect the Ring doorbell to the wires... do I need to do anything to the battery operated chimebox for it to work?
Remove the battery operated chime box
Connect this to the chime adapter wires
And the adapter to power point

Will be getting the wired version. Will be doing Reno hence can I check if anyone knows what are the 2 wires required for the doorbell to work? Will get the electrician to pull it outside of the unit and install. TIA!

Just the doorbell. Chime is optional and wireless.

Both can see and talk to others.
Peephole is a straightforward intsallation. No wiring just batter
Wired for new bto is easier. They already setup the connection for u at kitchen
So just link up with power

Sorry it has been discontinued, I recommend another rechargeable built in battery. It can be wall mounted and very affordable!

I like the cloud with ring. Cus it’s fast.Without the subscription u can still use it. Just limited. But wouldn’t mind trying more!
Personally prefer Eufy doorbell too! Full access with no monthly subscription. SD card is in the chime which is kept indoors, so no footage lost if someone decide to steal the doorbell away. But thanks for the great review on Ring!
Ugh so for a bto it's not powered and the existing wires in the wall are just to connect it to where the bell can go..that's so pointless since wireless ones are easily available already and last a long time, the whole point of wiring it in should be to keep the bell powered??
