If you liked the precistrip 16 I highly recommend the nextstrip multi stripper 12 72 190. The have the same functionality but includes a ferrule crimper. If you you a lot of control panel work, it’s a must.
Just recently picked up the stepcut xl cutters after seeing some vids about knipex and the hardness spec of their tools being higher than the competition. I work daily with 2 awg thwn, and would always have to 2 hand the klein shears at work to get through it. I can easily get through it, halfway down the handle, with one hand when using the stepcut Xl's Its insane
I just received the 12 52 195 stripper. Mainly for use stripping #8 wire for solar panel wiring. Initial trials failed miserably, and was ready to complain. Then I tried adjusting by the screwdriver slot and next stripping attempts were successful!!!
I work in construction, I decided to buy my own tools instead of using the ones we have at the workshop. I use the cutix daily, same as the twin grips, I also use the pliers wrench from time to time. Amazing tools 💪
As an amateur, I wish I had the knipex snap blade knife when I was cutting foam insulation. The spine on the blade would have kept it straight for straighter cuts, which means faster cuts, because with foam you need to go over the same spot over and over, and when you wobble off course, you waste that cut. The blade spine would have also prevented me from accidentally snapping a lot of blades in half while cutting foam.
Knipex blades are really soft and bend fast. Wera and Felo have great tips. Wiha blades are also kinda soft. Then there is the grip, in my opinoion Felo and Wiha have the best ones.
No, Knipex screwdrivers is not better than Wera. Just look at the video named: Schraubendreher Test: Wera wiha KNIPEX - welcher Schraubenzieher ist der Beste 🤔| Werkzeug Vergleich from channel Elektriker - Werkzeug. @@anonym6391I'm not German I'm Czech. When I was searching for new insulated screwdrivers I was thinking which brand I should buy if Wera or Wiha or Knipex And that video just resolved it. I bought Wera.

Knipex makes screw drivers now?!? Or are they the re-branded Gedore/other German brands insulated drivers? I’ve always said I would LOVE if they made their own.
Great tools from knipex, I use them all, the screwdrivers are not made by knipex just rebranded, and if I'm right even the precistrip 16 is made by rennsteig, membre of the knipex group. The cutix utility knife is made in Spain. But after all the quality is very good. I recently bought the stepcut xl and the foldable cable knife with ratcheting action for big cables.
@@anonym6391 Knipex only manufacturing pliers, every other tool, scissors are made in Italy, and the screwdrivers are manufactured in Germany, Felo or witte. They are good quality. But if you want even more there is pb swiss tools, wera, facom. Intercable...

They are not felo or Witte. I thought the same thing and didn’t order them for a while because of it but I’ve not seen another screwdriver like it so far
Not really. I have many automatic strippers, and the Knipex with their metal jaws actually damage the insulation _less_ than most others. The Stripax that so many people love, those have plastic jaws but cause a lot more insulation damage.
@americanelectrician you know that you can add some critical thinking and have a genuine opinion. Knipex screwdrivers are the most generic puece of kit in their portfolio. There is not a single design upgrade.
I cant understand why people dont use klien more. As someone from Ireland I 100% stand behind klien tools as the best tool company on the market, far superior to knipex or wera or any other brand. Just my opinion but I think its a valid one considering how much money I have spent on tools as an electrician
I agree. Klein has had quality control issues and alot of people jumped ship from them. I was one of those people. Swapped all over to Knipex for pliers. What I found after using only Knipex for 2 years is they don't hold up nearly as good as Klein did. I've gone all back to Klein except a couple things. Every brand has had quality issues. Even the holy Knipex lol.
That's interesting. It seems that some folks have had issues with Klein tools. I love Klein's screwdrivers. I recently acquired their insulated wire strippers and that thing is amazing.

Are the step cutters good on bx as well?
What pair of gloves do you work with?
I use wire strippers every day and used a lot of types, I like the weidmuller strippers the most the strip the cleanest

Can you cut bx with them?
Easily but I prefer my straight edged shears in the twin cutting pliers or the forged wire strippers
Love the Cutix. Nothing on the market like it. Just wish it had a pocket clip LOL. I ended up putting my own LOL
That would be sweet
Just get a cc22, it does it all.
Cooper only? Can you cut MC with them?
Thanks Brother 👍
Thank you!
Lets say I go the Trade School route for electrician, what would be my next steps afterwards?
