I think it’s because the black instead of the white helps contrast better
Definitely! It helps with the sail/off white midsole too, that thing against white just looks dingy. I’m also digging that black mid foot panel with the white check; we don’t see it too often on Js.
@Joe Gross not a big fan of all these sail/off white mid soles releases. Just give me a white sole and I'll let them age overtime

Highs were criminally slept on, a lot nicer in hand. Won a raffle for these today, can’t wait to pick them up this Saturday. Great video as always 👌🏽
Still likely passing but not bad at all , the AJ1 lows i really have my eyes on next are the Black Toe 1 lows believe releasing next month. OG colorway and have to see more but quality looking really good on those. These are not bad though , definitely better than the elephant print highs , the elephant print against the black nubuck pops and compliments much better than the white on the high version. The aesthetic seems to just work better on a low overall. Passing on them but def an improvement from the high version.

I really do prefer the lows here, and I think it’s the way the shoe pops because of the contrast in the black base. Love it!
I have mystic blue lows I bought to be my beaters and ended up loving them. Been waiting for another OG low color way that excites me. Still on the fence when it comes to these but I think I’ll go for them ! This review helped to sway me

Yo Chris!!! I feel like they should’ve made the font of the “ air Jordan “ on the wings logo the same colour as the swoosh. I know they normally don’t do that but I feel like that would’ve saved the unfortunate messy look of the wings logo.
These and the Mac Attacks are my two actual wants for the year in addition to the Bricks & Wood 9060 which I hit on in Feb. Release whatever you want after that, I'm ready to bow out for the year.
Unlike the retro highs, OG Lows are so hard to hit on. 😢

Personally, I don’t care for the elephant print on the J1s. Like you said, maybe a younger me would be down but these days I prefer it remain a signature feature of the J3.

Was gonna pass on these even though an OG cut. To much elephant print maybe if the eyelid section and the back tab wasn’t. But the black panels do make these way better then highs

Hey Chris I don’t understand why you didn’t mention the AJ1 Mids in the Elephant Prints… they’re exactly like the Lows. They released May last year and I think only the front of the shoe had the Elephant print. The weird thing about those Mids they came with Red laces lol 😂 the high tops ain’t bad, I customized the toe box and made it black.
Did you leave the tongue grey? That’s the only part that’s stopping me from going the black toe route. I just hate the extra effort that goes into painting/dyeing the tongue.
@@D3adKruzer yeah I left the tongue alone. If it’s leather it’s easier to paint. But nylon tongues need to be stitched out.
Mine are coming tomorrow. I’m actually gonna rock the gray laces. Think it looks a little cleaner. Cause these are gonna be some daily wears

Observation, the shape of the OG lows seems to be a consistent issue, seems the OG low by nature of construction seems to have an issue holding it's shape. After a few wears and break in though, both my SBB and the Powder Blues took a more natural shape.

Im definitely on the losing battle on this but I like the smaller/newer swoosh compared to the old/bigger one. I still prefer the older ogs in every way except for the swoosh.

Boy almost got heated with you lol. So bought the cement blacks and a pair of Jordan 1 low se true blue in a half size smaller and since the true blues were already laced I tried them 1st and bad fit. Oh I got angry lol and so I just assumed the black cement wasn’t going to fit either. Then I eventually tried on the cement blacks and they had a crazy amount of more room the the SE set. Just crazy but the cement blacks are a keeper and now the SE got to go. Both were size 11 and I wear 11.5 in Jordan 1 high.
Love them. Always lows over highs for me.

I love the highs I love white shoes the highs are clean af. The lows are really nice too I tilt slightly to the highs tho and I'd take lows over highs all day something about the high elephants tho I just enjoy them. I'm sure I'll love the lows also when I get them

Like you, I like the low top version better. The high is pretty good but this is chef’s kiss. I just wish they would go back to the OG shape like they do with the Travis Scott lows. It’s mind boggling what JB does. 🤦♂️

Personally, I both pairs, but the cut and versatility of the ‘OG’ lows almost always wins for me. LOVING shoes being more easy to get at drop finally… the culture vultures must have found something else to resell.
I couldn’t get into the high top version which is funny because I prefer high tops. These I like a lot more. The lace swap is righteous! I haven’t planned on trying to get anything outside the Clot Fragments this month. I’ll count them as a possibility though.

The black insoles are bad. The AJ1 Naija was my first intro to them and I could immediately feel the difference compared to the regular ortho insoles. My foot immediately sank in them and it felt like I was wearing barefoot shoes. Thankfully I do have the movement insoles so I’ll have to make the switch.
