Welcome back Hugh. I join my noobs to act as the police and they goal hang with me. Then if in Horizons I send them road to riches to get 15 Million and towards Diaguandri for 15% discount. Then a Viper Mk III and a DBX to start Eng Material Gathering. You have moved away from Road to Riches?
I'm not a fan of the Viper. It's not nearly as easy to control as the DBS and the weapons layout is a bit inconvenient too. It needs engineering to get the best from it. R2R is another way to get the money for the Vulture, especially as it's a fair distance to Ngalinn. I chose combat as the method because I thought the practicewould help before they start with the Vulture. A lot of guides send new players to do biology scanning in odyssey, and claim huge amounts of money, but I'm pretty sure that those are mainly lucky runs and people that didn't count the time it took them to travel into deep space. I think massacre missions is a lot more reliable and predictable, so I stick to that method. It was encouraging to see quite a lot of noobs in the starter systems. I think Starfield must have done something to attract them, and they're asking questions on various forums about what to do, which is why i updated this series. Great to see you're still around.
@@hughjardon3538 The combat route up has it's merits, no doubt it is more fun. I went completely up the combat route following your guide back in 2018. I was so excited to move into the Python but found that without engineering, it does not excel in combat. I moved on somewhat disappointed before coming back to it and finding it glorious with Engineering. Thank you for all your help over the years. I endeavour to pay it forward in one to one mentoring with newer players.
