If they sent you a gun to review the least you could do is shoot it. Next time just review it from a brochure 😂.

The best way I can describe the trigger is: It's like a highly tuned, high end trigger with a heavy spring.
So crisp, no over travel, super good reset, but they break at 5.5-6.5 lbs.
If the trigger was 3.5 lbs, it would feel like a trigger you's expect on a $2k+ handgun.
What's the fastest you have loaded a 40 grain in a handgun?
We bought a bunch of the American Eagle junk, pulled the projectile, loaded it properly & re-seated the projectile.
The hottest of those were were doing 2095 in an FN FiveseveN.
I didn't try that batch in the P90, but I imagine it would have been significantly faster.
I had some 28 grain ammo that would break 3k FPS in the P90.

First time watching your channel. I've seen many video reviews of the 5.7 Rock and this one is by far one of the best I've watched. You gave simple and understandable descriptions of almost every aspect of the firearm. Excellent detailed review. Thank you. Subscribed ☑

They have blems on sale now, with the ported/serrated slide and optic cut (RK1). $399. $446 shipped to my FFL.
I havent found 1 actual blem on any parts or guns I have bought from PSA. So I assume I won't find anything wrong with this one either. Went with the full FDE option. I guess I will try and find the blem here in the next 2 or 3 days. Ordered it yesterday.

Good content! Thank you for taking the time and effort to create it. I'm not a brand whore or have an ego with certain manufacturers. I do like stuff that works though. Just because it says Wilson Combat, Les Baer, Kimber, etc (have these too), doesn't mean its the ultimate anything. $3700 pistols should shoot through steel reinforced concrete walls 3 feet thick as far as I'm concerned. It just means you spent a shit load of money on a over priced hand gun that doesn't make you a better shooter. It's an ego thing. Practice makes perfect, LOT'S of practice! Besides, I don't like hand guns that I'm afraid I'm going to scratch when I shoot them. I get it.
A little bit of info on my part: I have the Ruger 5.7, the new S&W 5.7 (gas operated), and the PSA Rock. Also a PS90. Obviously I like the 5.7 round. As far as I'm concerned, PSA's mighty ROCK is the clear winner in ALL categories you can think of. First off, ALL THREE have the same amount of recoil. Regardless of the videos you see of folks just testing the S&W for the first time, then brazenly declaring the recoil is lower than other 5.7 pistols they have never shot, is total bunk. ALL OF THEM are super low recoil and EQUAL IN RECOIL! Those bullshit videos come from someone going from a 40 S&W, 10mm, etc to the 5.7 round. Take it for what it is.
The trigger quality goes in this order ...Ruger, not that great... heavy trigger pull, spongy, long take up, spongy wall with more travel then the break, then a very long reset followed by a click.
The Rock, Nice to decent trigger. Much shorter take up, firm wall, then crisp break, followed by a short reset and click.
S&W, very much like the Rock, but with a lighter break by about 1/2 pound lighter.
The Smith has the best trigger pull of all three, but only slightly, and I mean very slightly edges out the Rock. Very slightly.
The grip is great on all three. The Smith & Wesson being different. More "different" than the other two. The Ruger and Rock grip feel great in my hand. Opinions on "Grip" is subjective. The S&W feels great too, but different, because its a wee bit thinner. Both the Ruger and Rock use delayed blow-back operation. The S&W uses the unique gas operated/rotating barrel "Tempo" system. Very cool. The Rock magazines were designed to also fit the Ruger pistol and carbine. Hence the rectangular hole on the front of the magazine. They also hold more rounds (23 in the mag), but won't drop free when used in the Ruger. However, they are HALF the cost ($20) of the Ruger mags and are made just as well as the Ruger mags, if not better. The S&W 5.7 pistol only uses S&W magazines.
Ruger has the added external safety much like the 1911 and is ambi. The Rock is more "Glock like" and the S&W is much like the Ruger in being "1911" in style and is also ambi. You can get the Ruger with or without an optics cuts. Same goes for the Rock. The S&W comes already cut and a cover plate installed. I could care less about optics on a pistol. I prefer sights. Optics are for rifles in my opinion. The machine work, fit & finish and over all quality is awesome on all three. The Rock is the lightest of the three.
BOTTOM LINE (in my opinion): You can't go wrong with any of them. I love all three. HOWEVER, once again, in my opinion, the Rock is the clear winner here in all categories that you can think of! BEST bang for the buck. BEST over all value. Best price. BEST package deals. Best in accuracy? (S&W and Rock are tied). You can even order a Rock
"Ala Carte" and get it cheaper and your way! You pick the frame color. The slide type. The barrel style (threaded/non-threaded). Sight type. Optics cut or not cut, etc. When you can do this, and be the least expensive and highest quality 5.7 pistol on the market, you are the WINNER and KING! Try all that with Ruger and S&W. Not happening.
As for the originator, the FN Five Seven pistol, It's the reason it took so long for the 5.7x28 cartridge to become popular. $1200 pistols with not so great triggers and safeties in weird spots, don't promote sales of said firearms, let alone the required ammo to feed them. Now that there is multiple manufactures of 5.7 pistons, and the ammunition, GAME ON!
One last thing, My above post is me being honest and helpful. Not offensive. If anybody is offended, or you just don't like 5.7 in general, be offended. No room for soy based life forms in the gun world. Just saying.

    • @GunBoxTherapy
      @GunBoxTherapy  Год назад +2

The gold dot for sure! I really enjoy that ammo and miss the price of what it once was ($40/box) but what self defense ammo is less than $1 a round? None really.
As far as range ammo/every day shooting I’d choose the FN SS197SR. They are typically the same price as the Federal FMJ stuff but I’ve ran into QC issues with the federal ammo where the bullet isn’t seated and crimped enough. So the bullet just kinda falls out leaving a mess of powder.

@@GunBoxTherapy Gold Dot is on sale for like $35 per box right now, but it's honestly really underloaded.
One of the slower rounds we tested.
Do you ever buy Vanguard Outfitters or Elite Ammunition stuff?
It's loaded properly & is far superior to the pud loaded mainstream stuff.

I got the RK1 version as well, its very nice for the price. I like the grip bettwr than any other 5.7 pistol out now. I got the wrong holosun though, the compact version fits without a plate but i got the regular 407k x2, not the compact. So i have to use the plate and now i cant see the sights to cowitness. But its fine for now, i could take a compact red dot off one of my other pistols but this is just a range toy and they are not.
