I want you to know LT that I follow several big name RUclipsrs like Cleetus McFarland, JH Diesel, KSR, Vice Grip Garage and Steve Morris and I would like to say that I get just as happy to see one of your new videos up as I do when I see theirs. I found your RUclips when you had just mounted the turbo on The Ugly Truck and I've gone back and watched several old videos and haven't missed a new one yet since the day I found you and Ugly Truck. Your content is awesome and most of all you seem to be a relatable guy. Keep up the great work!
I saw a project called ""Psyclone" yesterday on YT. It's a GMC Canyon, with an awd setup and custom front and year suspension and a stroker ls3 in it. They were making 3.6 second 0-60 pulls in it with a base tune. It's a pretty cool setup.
When it comes to suspension, too much is a gray area, it's better to overbuild and be safe than to say "Well crap, I guess I shoulda beefed that up better"
Please test drive the S10 in a video either all the rear suspension complete. Would love to see the comparison to the truck before and after burnouts, and launches.
Loving the content, LT. It's cool to see you working with Matt. I love his channel as well and have been watching you since you were on Truck Tech. Great work, Sir.
@lawrencelttolman - thank u for updating us on the 2nd S10 Syclone and also u need a new CNC machine for ur shop and also u need a new tube bender machine as well
Considering your power goals for the truck, and the fuel tank layout, you may want to consider front and rear driveshaft loops. It's a fairly long driveshaft and the consequences of it breaking at either end are scary from a safety standpoint.
Amazing what a set of wheels can do to any build. I agree with everyone that the stock tahoe wheels look funky but those were only for the winter set up! Don’t think she’ll be seeing much winter driving with the wuhan whistle installed😅
Love watching these videos.. wish you were still on "Trucks "..discovery channel, but too many politics going on changing hands.. Glad your doing great on your own adventures..still watching you!🤙👍
Wild to say but you have without a doubt touched my life aswell as many others. You have made me laugh uncontrollably and you have made tears roll down my face. You an inspiration to more people than you know I'm sure of that. I hope you recover from this situation and continue living your best life. I wish you well and hope to see you making videos once again. ❤
On the eastwood coating.... the open end of the tube goes in the can trigger button. The brass piece is the nozzle. It sprays in something of a ball pattern. Used the coating twice on different projects with no issues. If the original spray nozzle hadn't been damaged you probably would have had no issues.
Those 6 large tires and heavy axles you know Matt is going to run is going to need more torque, and a stroker is the best way to get that low end torque. You're still going to want to spin a 6.0 pretty fast to get that power, so make it a little bigger so it won't need to spin so fast. Show him what a stoked 6.0 can do vs that big ol 8.1!
Thanks for keeping shit real .. i love how humble you are .. and your love for being able to come to canada .. it was about money or fans .. it was about the freedom to cross a border with a record
@LawrenceTolman my Guy, you used the straw/spray tube the wrong way around. The brass piece is the 360deg spray nozzle. That is the end you shove in the frame.
That sucks that the internal coating didn’t work for you. My father’s 95 wrangler had the infamous water trap in the front of the frame. He used that same Eastwood product and had no issues. Made a huge difference.
Id suggest watching the series from fasterproms about the turmoil they went thru on an awd s10 frame with a 3 link.....the factory crossmember needs more bracing than what you have. I'd also suggest swapping to a 2 door blazer gas tank to move some more bias towards the rear.
For Matt, something that big wouldn't you want torque above all else? If you want a gas engine, PSI 8.8 with a high torque cam. 408 stroker is a cool idea, but I think its the wrong application.
Whatever you do for Matt, just make sure it is proven reliable in a sandy environment. It would be no good to have a recovery vehicle breaking down during a recovery!
Interesting how everyone has a Chop Saw and we all use them on the shop floor. You'd think, with all of the fabricating, it would occur to someone to build a table for them.
I think the ramp truck needs an n/a big block. Simpler, less points of failure, tried and true torque, probably very similar gas mileage to the supercharged LS, just seems better all around for that application. Theres no space limitation in the truck, so why not.
@23:55 Becareful with the rear brake line running on the front face of the axle tube. Road debri, especially while autocrossing, will take out a brake line quick.
Hey, I know this doesn’t have anything to do with this awesome build but some years ago you were wiring up a DIC into your Silverado. I did the same with mine. I found one from a Denali. Anyways, I remember you saying you had some bulbs that were out on the buttons. Mine all went dark. I was wondering if you knew how to replace those bulbs. I can’t find anything on the net about it. Any guidance would be incredibly appreciated. Thanks.
Matt needs to go with a big block for low-end torque. Yeah, an LS can make big HP, but the power band is high in the upper rpm range. Centrfical Blown Big Block is the way to go.
Well... The owner is another RUclipsr. And that person is an LS guy for the simple fact of reliability and ease of finding parts... He does have a vehicle he built with an 8.1.
I would’ve liked to see the truck up and running on maybe a set of cal tracks first to see what difference this set up would’ve made. You know like maybe stages.
Why do solid axles have flexible brake lines to connect the calipers? Why not hardline directly to the calipers since the calipers are bolted directly to the axle and move with the axle? Is it just to make it easier to service the brakes and move the caliper out of the way to change the rotors?
No stroker. Not needed for what they are doing and in increases cooling stress. Stock rebuild with ring gap, head studs, very small cam, and 5 psi boost.

LT is the OG. I was watching LT years ago on TV shows before Cleetus was shoving horns up his corvette exhaust.

337 speed is making a colorado rcsb too
@@Cuhh346 Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the channel I was watching. The truck is red that I'm talking about, and the body is fairly rough.
Yep they are making the real deal while this is the diet coke of "syclone"
Yeah I saw it too pretty sweet!
Excellent work LT. The truck is coming along nicely
I agree with you boss. 408 stroker is the best choice for matts 6.0 ls motor. ❤❤❤❤ would love to see that...
When it comes to suspension, too much is a gray area, it's better to overbuild and be safe than to say "Well crap, I guess I shoulda beefed that up better"
I love the creation. Ironman himself couldn’t have done better on fortifying this frame and axels. This thing should fly. 😊
Please test drive the S10 in a video either all the rear suspension complete. Would love to see the comparison to the truck before and after burnouts, and launches.

On that Eastwood use a coat hanger taped to the hose to help guide the hose around.

Very cool!!! Would love to see that 408 stroker with some mild boost for Matt!!! Keep it up and cant wait!
Your project is coming along nicely! It's very mindful, very demure 😂
On Matt’s engine. The more NA horsepower and torque it makes the less boost it has to make to get to a certain number.
Love watching these videos.. wish you were still on "Trucks "..discovery channel, but too many politics going on changing hands.. Glad your doing great on your own adventures..still watching you!🤙👍

Matt definitely needs bigblock torque in an LS package. My vote for the 408
Thank you for Matt’s channel and keep videos coming
when it comes to goodies, it is better to have it and not need than to need it and not have it
It is surprisingly easy to create paper coping templates in Fusion 360 using the sheet metal tools even with lots of different tube angles at once.
3M Cavity Wax Plus works great for corrosion protection of hard to reach/inside areas.
So glad to see someone building a hotrod and actually reinforcing the frame.
Love that you’re building that motor for Matt! Now I can binge watch both y’all’s channels 😅

Gunna be sick! Do some Smokey burnouts!
I’ve used the Eastwood internal frame coat. It has worked great so far. No rust in a couple years.

I like the way you think brother!🇺🇲
Thanks for keeping shit real .. i love how humble you are .. and your love for being able to come to canada .. it was about money or fans .. it was about the freedom to cross a border with a record
I agree with the rear mount tank, it’s coming together nicely
@LawrenceTolman my Guy, you used the straw/spray tube the wrong way around. The brass piece is the 360deg spray nozzle. That is the end you shove in the frame.
That sucks that the internal coating didn’t work for you. My father’s 95 wrangler had the infamous water trap in the front of the frame. He used that same Eastwood product and had no issues. Made a huge difference.
It didn't work because he had the tube the wrong way around
Awesome progress, and work as usual! This thing is ROCK SOLID!!! Love it! Keep up the great work and videos man!
SUPERCHARGER 408 STROKER!! 110%
if LT puts his name on it, its gotta be top notch
Id suggest watching the series from fasterproms about the turmoil they went thru on an awd s10 frame with a 3 link.....the factory crossmember needs more bracing than what you have.

Love these videos. Hope you get the motor job for mat
13 👍's up LT thank you for sharing 🤗
More power baby!!!!!
Amazing work as always.
That brace should stiffen the frame flex up between the cab and the bed
You should give a quick coat of paint! It will definitely highlight your awesome work/design!

Hmm. Maybe even " LT " swap the truck
I like Matt's channel and yeah a 408 would be cool!
Hitting Matt with the #MORRMotor ;)
Get some steel it. It's a weldable coating that works great for that exact purpose and you can steal coat over it with the spendy product you used.
Dude, this looks great under the covers!
POR 15 for painting frames!

The s-10 is going to be a beast, so why wouldn't you build another beast motor. No Replacement for Cubic Displacement!
hows the junkyard truck? love the s10 but that scrap truck will be sick to see running👀
Blown Raylar 535 FTW!!
@23:55 Becareful with the rear brake line running on the front face of the axle tube. Road debri, especially while autocrossing, will take out a brake line quick.
Yes. Please do a 408.
The spud truck should get a Cummings engine!

Call Eastwood and get your money back. I used 2 cans in my truck and it was thin as it should be.
Excellent!
Why wouldn’t they do an 8.1L or 8.8L supercharged motor for their 6x6 recovery truck?
Great work LT
Wouldn't a super charged engine in a big heavy truck towing something at slow speeds in sand get heat soaked really bad?
Matt needs to go with a big block for low-end torque. Yeah, an LS can make big HP, but the power band is high in the upper rpm range. Centrfical Blown Big Block is the way to go.
Did you ever think about using a 2 dr. Blazer fuel tank for better weight distribution?
For that 6x6, is a supercharged big block like u have in the ugly truck an option? Torque torque torque
Well... The owner is another RUclipsr. And that person is an LS guy for the simple fact of reliability and ease of finding parts... He does have a vehicle he built with an 8.1.

Because the calipers are mounted on a “floating” pin and have some side to side movement, so the flex lines must allow this movement
It would probably be a better practice to not have a square cornered opening in that plate. Corners are always stress risers.
I know you're not a big fan of the pewter on your S-10, but black wheels would work with that color nicely.
I want to see Matt's eng build
That recovery truck deserves to have an 8.1 and you know it! Quit playing games with yourself
I think by fabbing those braces and gussets you saved tons of time not boxing the entire frame.😊
You could have fitted the irs out of a comaro or caprice. If it is primarily for auto cross
Coming together
No stroker. Not needed for what they are doing and in increases cooling stress. Stock rebuild with ring gap, head studs, very small cam, and 5 psi boost.
Got me thinking about something similar for my Nova, wanna be able to drift/light track fun…🤔🤔🤔
i got an s10 i want to do this to i need the measurements haha
I sure hate you didn’t duplicate the Project Red Tide stuff
Personally i think that 6L needs 800 horse
The internal paint I used was a light green color, that’s something completely different…
He really should just be rebuilding the stock big block they pulled out with a supercharger and he would make amazing power
More power ooo ho ho ooo
Look into steel it it’s a weldable paint i think it’d do you good
You know your not going to blow it apart once it's done and your driving it!!
Do the 408 stroker. You have to
Or a Duramax with tandem turbos!
Over kill?...NAH.... You should pull wheelies with that set up...
I used the internal frame coating for my nova about 8 years ago, still looks great. The chassis paint is garbage. Cant deal with brake fluid
408 and twin torque storm chargers
When will u get back on the ulgy-truck?
In my opinion it is better to have the support then not.
I'd do the 408 stroker
Will we see you at the strip this year
As an old guy would say I don't think there is such a thing as over built and also there is no replacement for displacement
Wont the 408 stroker, have the piston come out of the cylinder skirt? Do a 370ci.
What ever happened to the Ford 5.4 DOHC build from before the move?
408 stroker definately. Thats a lot of truck to push through sand and who wants to get booged down when your loaded?
27:04 no you should do 2 lq4
