Hey, that was me in the golf! You were my favorite race of the night. I had no idea what you were running and it was a nail biter. Thanks for the great run!
Real talk. You build your trucks to an OEM standard, to the point they could be daily driven, without AAA (which the Audi and VW require). You also don’t have to mortgage the house to go fast, unlike the Germans. The approach you bring to your builds is far more real-world than your old job. I appreciate this and your candor a lot. Keep going!
Brother you did great!!!! 5,000 lbs and about 500 horse. That truck does great. The 4.8 just doesn't have enough to pull up top with a blower. A turbo would. But the blower is cool. The SOUND!!!! Think about a 6.0l I was in Richard Holdner's channel the night you came in. It's funny I was talking about you talking about having bad tires while roasting your tires in you 8.1L. LOL as soon as I got the room talking about you, you popped in for a minute and I guess left. Richard seemed to be flustered at the fact we were all talking about your crazy burn outs at the time. LOL man I love what you do. You don't follow the cookie cutter way. You are unique. Stay that way. It's what makes you different. Alot of us appreciate you for the way you are. You build bad ass trucks. Not cars. That stepside is BEAUTIFUL!!! I love the wrap. The black on the hood looks great. Thanx for the content brother.

I understand the disappointment in all the faster vehicles but the cool factor of this truck to me is much better than any of those other vehicles. Keep it up!
Truck looks like it's running awesome, you held your own very well. I do lots of airstrip race events, I have a 700+ whp M5 and a tuned/upper/lower RR SVR and neither of them can hold up with a tuned RS3. Those are like the new "cheater" car, they weigh nothing, are awd, have a strong engine and you can tune them to the moon. A lot of those IROZ built ones are running 35-40psi of boost, they usually run with tuned GTR's. I'm definitely inspired to put an LSA on my H2 for some more gear holding grunt. Looks great man

Nice truck, even if not optimized for roll racing! One small editing suggestion-I’d add a two-second clip showing the negative battery connection being taken off before getting a wrench near that alternator! Love your content LT!
Get the blower ported, 75 shot and finish up the suspension. With 4.30’s, 75 shot and a good shock setup, you oughta cut into the 1.4-1.5 range easy and run mid 11’s all day.
Roll racing is for those who have more power than there chassis/suspension can handle from a dig, that is not what you have with the awd. They are highway bruisers, yours is a boulevard bruiser. No way you should feel bad, that truck is badass, I wanted to build a 2wd stepside until I had seen your awd conversion, now I am on the lookout for a clean southern truck to copy what you have..... except I would go 6.0.
Would have been a great time to put an open pulley on so you can access the bolts on the pump easier so you don't have to pull the pulley off to remove it. I went to an Innovators West 8 rib set up with an overdrive main pulley and under drive pulley on the pump to save it a bit which helps out.
For what it's worth, my 4.8l with a btr stage2 cam, gen3 78/75 and 4l80e 2wd ran best et of 10.67 @129mph last year. Maxed out 80lbs injectors 18.5psi. Brake boosted to 14ish psi she flew! This thing is gona be a rocket as well 🚀
Roll racing favors turbo light weight vehicles. All around Im impressed with this build. I'm really impressed that the transmission has held up. There might be more inside that then thinking its a stock build.
Hi LT. I believe a 4L80 will help your performance on the drag strip. The gear spacing is much closer than in the 4L60. Your (small) displacement engine needs to stay in the upper part of the power band. Have you ever considered a 6L80 or 6L90? Launching my Yukon Denali is impressive for a totally stock vehicle. Miss You on Trucks. Glad to see you are still around. Bud
Rs3. 2.5 5 cylinder turbo. Looked FBO. Can’t tell obviously but just based on what was visible. Side note. After watchin the actual race with said rs3 definitely a big turbo car not just FBO lol that was 650+ to the tire for sure. Love how they sound like mini lambos or mini rs8’s
Removing the tailgate or fitting a cover will up the top end speed a little , 10 to 30 mph and fitting a proper cold air intake will increase power if you can get some ram air with it.
I see the stradman and his friends behind you in line on the second race. And Race 5 in front of you the red corvette is a friend of his too another youtuber. Great racing :)
Having grown up around Airforce bases, I couldn't help but to think of the F4 Phantom II while watching your truck race. Quote from the net "There is no particular reason for the world's love affair with the F-4 Phantom. Beautiful it was not, nor graceful, nor aesthetic. It was said to be proof of an amazing aeronautical principle: that “a brick can fly if you stick a big enough engine on it.”
Hey bud. I'm usually not one to ask for help, but I'm feeling extremely defeated by my tune. I use hp tuners also, and really need a hand out of the trenches. 2002 Yukon, 5.3, flat top Pistons, sloppy stage 2 cam. Specs (Adv. Duration: 283/286,Duration @ .050": 228/230,Lift: .585/.585,Lobe Separation: 112 LC) set to standard cam timing. Comp cam roller rockers, standard length comp pushrods, comp 386 rate springs. Port polished 862 heads, stock valves. Gen 4 rods. Nv3500 5 speed swap, with all the pcm factors and wiring programed for five speed. Stock injectors, aftermarket fuel pressure regulator dialed to 60psi with return. Anyways, I guess what is baffling me is I tried different injectors and all seems the same. Falls on its face at full throttle. Idle is dialed in, added to the iac to compensate for the cam, I feel like it's injector timing because of the big cam. Now, if you, or anyone else reading this can help a fella that is basing my assumption off carburetor understanding, it feels like the accelerator pump isn't working. Idles, half revs, but the more gass you give the flatter it falls. Tried bumping up the ve table, power enrichment, adding air. Nothing changes. Wideband says it's ok. Long and short fuel trims are normal. Seems it's starving for fuel at higher rpm. Fuel should hit the valve right before opening, how can I change my injector timing to do so? Any help is greatly appreciated
LT, it's probably already been said but if it hasn't....if the truck had EGR and you aren't using it, you can add a fuel pressure sensor to the EGR circuit and transform in it HPTtuners and log it that way. Or if you have the HPT pro link you can add it in that way too. Personally I would rather log it than add another gauge that you may or may not be able to watch at WOT.
You could also change the power steering pulley for a larger diameter. I'm using an s10 p/s pump with a dodge caravan pulley to keep the pump alive while shifting @ 7800 rpm
Next install for step side "Copo Chevy truck"......bigger fuel pump, new 8 rib belt, FRONT suspension upgrade, and a mounted fire extinguisher/kill switch
Looking under the hood of the Mitsubishi, I must say LT, you do goo clean work. I’d rather have a 500 Hp 6,000 lb truck built by you, than a 700 hp, 2500 lb truck that is a total hack job. That is meant to be a compliment by the way.
Want to see you do some street racing some slow car cash days or something I think the little awd truck will do good in some no prep or street races. I love the truck and the whole build great job!
I don’t know what your budget will be for a new engine when you replace the 4.8. But GM recently came out with a 6.6 gas engine that’s a brute. Speaking from the experience of driving several of the box trucks and cargo vans that they’re coming in, it’s a very impressive engine. It’d probably pair very well with your supercharger.
Try upgrading the power steering pump that most GM cars and some of the trucks run with the remote reservoir. They are made to turn RPMs. The Saginaw you are running doesn't take high RPMs very well. The smaller one they run on later trucks, vettes, Impala, and pretty much alot of the cars lol.
This is just one man's opinion but, I never got the point of a "race truck". Anything you might do to significantly increase the performance of COPO at this point is going to severely impact its versatility as a reliable, useful vehicle to haul/tow cargo comfortably on the street or off road. That is what pick ups are for, after all. I'm truly impressed with the truck as it stands. Yes, it is indeed quick but seems as though you could still drive it daily and it appears to have retained at least some utility. Personally, I think it's perfect and wouldn't change a thing. 👌🏻 That said, I'm a hardcore 4G63T fan and I, for one, wouldn't complain if you turned that Tacoma into a 1200 wheel horsepower purpose built "race truck".
Those little 4g put out some power. There was a guy in CT years ago that swapped an Evo awd and motor onto a 90s mirage hatchback and it ate almost everyone up.
Get rid of the LSA and add twins to your setup.. 4.8 with some light work will make 900hp and last a few nights of racing.. 4.8 with some cash and the right parts can make 1200 hp and should be fun as heck in a short awd half ton with some weight removed.. even if you just put twins to the setup you have now it would be a good bit of fun..
That’s totally awesome, I wish I could’ve talked with you more but I knew you had other people trying to get info from you. Try a PSE pump. I used that on my 06 Silverado crew cab 1500 SAS swap. I also did the gear box for a 3/4 ton on my truck
That Mitsubishi didn't look like he had a lot of money and that's awesome! I kind of hoped you'd put a I6 (turbo?) in the Toyota and keep it for a "shop truck".
Congrats LT, that pickup is a beast. What would I do? I'd build a 6.0 or 6.2 for it! No replacement for displacement, and SO much better breathing with a 4"+ bore!
Keeping up with the cts-v is an accomplishment itself. He had a power/weight advantage and you essentially kept up with him until aerodynamics started to hit you. I'd be curious what kind of difference a closer ratio trans like the 6l80 would make. It'd be a shorter 1st gear, and the closer ratios should keep you in your power band rather dropping several thousand rpm between shifts. The ram trucks running the 8hp70 are significantly faster in the quarter than the 6 speed autos making the same power/gearing. I bet a built 6.0 and 6l80 would be significantly faster all around.

Great video.
I’m working on a twin 525 set up now for my turbo Silverado . More fuel than I’ll ever need , think I’m going to have the 2nd pump off a hobb switch .
Enjoying the channel looking forward to you working on that duramax
This is just one man's opinion but, I never got the point of a "race truck". Anything you might do to significantly increase the performance of COPO at this point is going to severely impact its versatility as a reliable, useful vehicle to haul/tow cargo comfortably on the street or off road. That is what pick ups are for, after all.
I'm truly impressed with the truck as it stands. Yes, it is indeed quick but seems as though you could still drive it daily and it appears to have retained at least some utility.
Personally, I think it's perfect and wouldn't change a thing. 👌🏻
That said, I'm a hardcore 4G63T fan and I, for one, wouldn't complain if you turned that Tacoma into a 1200 wheel horsepower purpose built "race truck".
4.8 works good. Love to see a 6.2 with a 4" stroke in it's place. Have that lsa ported.
That Mitsubishi was a sleeper.....Holy Cow ! I never would have expected him to pull like that.
Those little 4g put out some power. There was a guy in CT years ago that swapped an Evo awd and motor onto a 90s mirage hatchback and it ate almost everyone up.
@@turbodime That would have been awesome to see. I would LOVE to swap a GTR drivetrain into an old 620 Datsun just to mess with people.
Even though you didn’t do the best it’s still looked like fun ,good work still bud
Maybe a surge tank with a nice size pump would take care of the sloshing during autoX and drags and get you the pump volume you need now.
that would be a great idea. I've just gotta find a place to mount one now
Truck Norris cam
Cough 6.0 swap w/rec port heads Cough 😁
That’s totally awesome, I wish I could’ve talked with you more but I knew you had other people trying to get info from you. Try a PSE pump. I used that on my 06 Silverado crew cab 1500 SAS swap. I also did the gear box for a 3/4 ton on my truck
Add the fuel guage on the wiper cowl. You wouldn't want fuel spraying in your cab if there was a leak.
I’d do an electric gauge so there no fuel actually going into the cabin
I believe the smaller diameter Dorman 300-201 pulley will fit the Silverado pump to slow it down some if that’s the issue you’re having
That RS5 though!!! Damn!
Giving me inspiration for my 2003 GMC Sierra manual v6 long bed 2 door 🤣
Very cool racing LT, that Audi was fast , how about a 6.2ls and that lsa super charger
It's okay it's still the little 4.8 that could 😎
Keeping up with the cts-v is an accomplishment itself.
