You can use liver of sulfur to darken your sterling plated metal, which is what jewelers use on sterling ro bring out the detail and highlight designs. Nice video. Watch your videos to try to use my Maker for engraving. Thanks.
I haven’t tried that on the plated metal but I do show how to use it in my engraving metal with your Maker book. I like the liver of sulfur gel a lot, and it is a great darkener. If you do jewelry I have a FB group that we do a lot of experimenting in. facebook.com/groups/engravingmetalscricut/ And I have some FB live tutorials in it as well.
Thank you!!! My husband is a bit of an audiophile and insisted if I was going to do videos that I have an audio set up.😂 It seriously does make a huge difference! But I’m not going to tell him so. 🤫 Thanks for taking the time to leave this comment I really appreciate it!
Yes! The Cricut won’t let anything thicker than 2.4 mm under the rollers. And the part that goes under the roller needs to be flat. I do have a video on how to engrave servers where I have the handle sticking off the bottom of the mat. But again, with those the part that is engraved is flat. Hope that helps!
This is a great tutorial. I found you through Jennifer Maker. I believe you mentioned that stainless steel would not work, but is there anything other than a silver plated spoon that can be used?
Sorry Francesca- I thought I’d replied to this! The metal just needs to be soft enough to pound flat. You can use silver spoons as well. 👍🏻 I’m so glad you found me!!! Jennifer has been super encouraging and I’m so lucky she’s a friend. If you have other questions I’m happy to help!
It would be, you do need to make sure everything is flat though. I do have a video on engraving at the bottom of your mat - which would totally work with the handle. Hope that helps!
Are we no longer able to get the spoonbowl template? I got the password but was unable to find the printable template. It looks like I need to sign up for a free 30 day membership???
There’s no membership at all! Just sign up for the email list and you get the password. Which I guess you already have. Everything there is free. And the spoon printable is with the engraving templates. It’s the second to the bottom in the list under Well Crafted Studio Engraving Designs. Right above “I like big books”
Hi! How can I download the Silverplate Spoon PDF and Spoon Centering Template? It requires a password on the website. I already subscribe the Channel :)
Hi Valeria! You can sign up for the password with this link. It’s for my Free Library which has tons of free designs for engraving, print then cut and more. The engraving templates are at the bottom of the page in the Library. wellcraftedstudio.com/get-the-password/
Hi Amar! Have you tried Amazon? I would guess that it's available online through some internet retailers, if not brick and mortar. When I googled Cricut India it gave me a few resources to check like desertcart, ubuy and a couple more.
Mastercrafter yes! With a mallet. I linked to a really good video on hammering the spoon flat in my blog post. You need to wrap it in a cloth though. Because its silver plate it's pretty soft.
@@WellCraftedStudio thank you for this video! I'm so excited to make this for a dear friend. Also, I think I would be more helpful if u share the link to the hammering video here.😁💜💜💜

To do a fork would it be all the same steps and lots of tape?
It would be, you do need to make sure everything is flat though. I do have a video on engraving at the bottom of your mat - which would totally work with the handle. Hope that helps!
Why did you select metal on this project and tooling leather with your 'piece out' stainless steel project? Thanks.
They should both be stainless steel. I’ll go back and check the “piece out”. I’m glad you asked!
