I was lucky enough to see Bic Runga live in London. She was the support act for the Finn Brothers at the Royal Albert Hall, just her alone up on stage looking so adorably nervous. I'd not heard of her before, but fell instantly in love with her music buying her CD the next day. Beautiful voice, beautiful girl, beautiful songs.
I've seen her three times in London, but sadly not at the RAH, which I'd have loved because the Finns were promoting the magnificent Everyone Is Here album. She is just brilliant.
She's one of the more well-known Kiwi artists here in Ireland, it all came together for her around 2004, this and 'Sway' started getting lots of radio play and she came over to do some shows / TV appearances etc.
That strange feeling when you wake up someday and remember a good old song. You whistle it all day long and then you sing it together with this one. Amazing one to remember suddenly after all these years. Thank you for existing.
Man, this song gets me in the feels every time. I think back to seeing Bic live, crying my eyes out. I get emotional, I almost well up. Such a great tune.
anyone like me scrolling down all the comments in every song in the curriculum just to find comments of any scholars and hit the like button for all of them :)
lgrsydney cus everybody is obsessed with 'sway' because it was in American Pie. I do love 'sway' but she has so many good songs and this was my all time favourite when I was a kid.
Look at Bursting Through - the views are just dismal for such an amazing song. There something else going on though. In the "about" section of this channel it says "Joined Sep 26, 2017" yet the vids are older. Why would Bic Runga wait until 2017 to have a You Tube presence too? Nothing makes sense.
I love this song, it came out when I was living in NZ around 2004. when I listed this son on the radio, wow, I got so cautivated by its sound, the music, the.lyrics and obviously Bics beutiful and sweet voice. I got the CD as soon as possible, and now, many years latter back in Mexico, this song and many others from Bic Runga are included in my playlist. A little bit before leaving NZ she started a tour around the country with the shows taking place at churches; what a shame i couldn't attend the concert she gave at Palmesrton North, the city I was living in.
this song should get more attention 😢 i remember when 2010 when i play django radio on the internet, this song on the playlist, since that day so that's why finally i know this song and i love this song❤
heard this today on a brasilian radio station and couldnt remember where I first heard it, so you tubed it. Man great memories from early 2000s when living in Otago NZ, beautiful country, beautiful people , great song, recognise loads of people from the video too. Great Saturday night feeling Bless
get this song because "Jango Radio" because random play when i play on the web at 2010, you can get Jango radio application on iOs or androis, it's free, you can find or explore new music you never heard before 😀
Highest rate of youth suicide rate in the world. Poverty is a problem, housing crisis too; highest amount of gang members per capita in the world and second for prison population per capita, just behind the US. NZ is also the only other country which allows pharmaceuticals to be advertised on TV. And NZ is the third most obese country.
As a Maori woman myself and the daughter of an ex patched gang member.. , yes there are many plus sides to the country and their are down sides too, our new Prime Minister has started to action a lot of good despite being on maternity leave, fixing what John Key did to our country, Gang activity doesn't happen nearly as much as the world assumes and Obseity is slowly coming down and our tourist economy is in full swing. Absolutely you can find peace here just be prepared to work hard for it.
First time i hear this song i was so bless who is she. Shame on me i know your song at the end of 2017. But i'm not regret coz finally i can hear your beautiful song
This is one of my most favorite songs. For some silly reason, I missed her performance when she performed in Melbourne in 2003. I still regret it. I don't live downunder anymore and I don't know when she will perform in California and if I will get a chance.
From here to there to everywhere And back to Union Square Where do I get some sleep? Anywhere the sleep dust lies It decorates your eyes Where do I get some sleep? Stranded in June Whistling the same old tune But I do believe I might be having fun I believe I might be having fun Impeccably dressed in your second hand vest We were waiting for the taxi to come Putting on my daytime eyes A good enough disguise Until I get some sleep Reading out the horoscopes And using up our jokes When do we get to sleep? Stand on the moon Find the light of my living room Yes I do believe I might be having fun I believe I might be having fun Tune into the station Make a dedication This is going out to everyone This is going out to everyone This is going out to everyone Something in the phrasing was quietly amazing We were waiting for the chorus to come This is going out to everyone This is going out to everyone From here to there to everywhere And back to union square Where do I get some sleep? Anywhere the sleep dust lies It decorates your eyes When do I get some sleep? Stranded in June Whistling the same old tune Yes I do believe I might be having fun I believe I might be having fun Tune into the station Make a dedication This is going out to everyone This is going out to everyone This is going out to everyone This is going out to everyone Going out to everyone This is going out to everyone Anyone going to Manila Globals??
I can't help allowing myself a wry smile at the way common language can differ so much, as in this example of New Zealand English vs. USA English: " . . . Shoot into the station, make a dedication - this is going out to everyone..." - "to shoot somewhere" meaning to go somewhere quickly, with purpose, in NZ parlance. In Trump's America, well...you get the idea.
World Scholars Cup will make this song heard everywhere...
hocam world scholars nedir ve bu şarkıyla alakası nedir ?
Literally she is so pretty

Damn im a hardcore metalhead but she got me with her voice and all the songs, love you Bic.
Bic Runga songs remind of weekend trips with my nana and koro
😎🙏
Heard this for the first time on a long airplane flight( 2005?). Never forgot it, glad I could find it here
This video may not have many views but in NZ (where I live) it's very popular. You hear it on the radio, tv and in malls and the like all the time.
I heard she was Elton John's fave female artist.
I'm from NZ, and that''s rare
She was very popular in Australia too. When I lived in Australia in early 2000s, they played her songs in Bars and Restaurants.
I'm a Brit, who only came to her music about a year ago. 😊😊
She's one of the more well-known Kiwi artists here in Ireland, it all came together for her around 2004, this and 'Sway' started getting lots of radio play and she came over to do some shows / TV appearances etc.

One of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever seen. Beautiful song. Beautiful scenery. Beautiful singer....

September 2024, anyone? I remember this song as a kid...and just now it just POPPED into my mind, felt like listening :D
Man, this song gets me in the feels every time. I think back to seeing Bic live, crying my eyes out. I get emotional, I almost well up. Such a great tune.

+Isolde Kamerman I feel that way about all of her songs. They deserve more.
lgrsydney cus everybody is obsessed with 'sway' because it was in American Pie. I do love 'sway' but she has so many good songs and this was my all time favourite when I was a kid.
It definately deserves more views!!!

She is too intelligent for some people like so many artists that refuse to sell out. Love her.
I remember the days when NZ music videos actually had production value... ahhhh, nostalgia...
I love this song, it came out when I was living in NZ around 2004. when I listed this son on the radio, wow, I got so cautivated by its sound, the music, the.lyrics and obviously Bics beutiful and sweet voice. Few years ago, I accidentally heard this played by our neighbor on their speaker now I'm still listening to this song.
Heard this song for the first time when it came out on TV, finally went back to hear it again after 16 years and I’m glad I did
A genius! Luv u Bic!
I heard this in an Italian restaurant tonight and jotted down some lyrics so I could work out who it was. Great song 😀
this song should get more attention 😢
i remember when 2010 when i play django radio on the internet, this song on the playlist, since that day so that's why finally i know this song and i love this song❤

Love the jingle jangle of this song !
This song is so good! So much better than all the pary music that they play on the radio constantly... too bad
One of my favorite songs. It reminds me of a maturing phase in my life.
Nostalgia...
Rest in peace Dave.
Here we go , down the nostalgia road !

I think if I were to move to Kiwi Land (New Zealand) I would find my inner peace.

Love this...nice song
How is this separation and isolation? (WSC)
How does this come in minorities? Don't get that either
cuz she felt alone and tired on her tour (what this song is about) when she was really popular
It's about being in a foreign place where you can't put your guard down, isolated in another country without your own people.
Bic and Boh are just wonderful!! Americans have no idea who they are!!
This American knows who Bic Runga is! And I love her music.
my husband does but only coz of me lol if they dont they have no clue about real music
kept coming back to this song :)
anyone from WSC?

Anyone going to Manila Globals??
Do more "when I see you smile." That "language expansion," meaning expansion.
Listening to this at (no joke) 3 AM. I can't help but feel like Bic Runga is trying to tell me something... I just can't tell what that is though...
❤❤
Cuter than a pack of kittens funkier than a Ferrari and sweeter than an angel
I can't help allowing myself a wry smile at the way common language can differ so much, as in this example of New Zealand English vs. USA English: " . . . errr... it's "tune into the station", as in tune into the radio station to make a song dedication to someone.
