I hope we do not throw away Libbok, he is a great player to have in the mix. He will clearly not be the heir to the thrown but he can definitely win us alot of games and help us navigate injuries. I hope they continue backing him as number two while pollard and Sacha move between number 1 and 3 in the pecking order. Given the amount of injuries in rugby we can"t afford to seat him out too long, he will start losing confidence and it will show in his open play. Currently his open play is great and not affected by his kicking woes, we must maximize on that while Sacha develops and Pollards either rides into the sunset.
I love Libbok. But....He's the flyhalf who cannot kick his goals. It sorta defeats the point. The front rower who cannot scrum. The hooker who cannot throw in at the line out. But they do other things on the park....Sad. School boy liteys kick better than Manie.
If we go 5-3 on the bench and really lean into the backline running game, i think a bold yet "safe" backline selection would be grant, sacha, arendse, de allende, Am, Kolbe, Willie with morne, handre and kriel on the bench. Let sacha have a go, grant and willie are both good at the tactical game and can guide sacha if needed
I would groom Sacha at 10, he is a 10 but the stormers waste his talent at 15, Sacha is big, strong, skills, and he is the Dan Carter of the boks, Manie shy away from tackling, where Sacha goes all in, and he will be good for attacking the gainline and get the backline into space with the pace we have outside of him

For me and I know hes not in the squad would be Nohamba and Manie as an attacking combination. Nohamba to kick. However in the squad I would say Grant and Sacha/Pollard as you cant get round having to kick your points in test rugby

That way, we can manage liss of form and injuries and rotation without dropping our performance. Why not Pollard at 15? Then you can have Manie at 10 and Williams at 9. Right now Reinach and Manie best attacking option but then Pollard or Sacha at 15 to kick. Pollard likes sitting back in the pocket direction attacks,just like Le Roux.

I might just sound like a bias bulls fan but I honestly believe that Embrose Papier was overlooked. I know we're looking toward the future with guys like Morne but Papier was back to his best for the bulls this season. His support play is 2nd to none and his pass is crisp and quick. Would have loved to see him partner with someone like Sascha.

Again we have the best 10s in rugby. We can attack and win. But Pollard has shown he doesn't have the creativity for the new system. When WC cup comes we can wheel him out again.

Legs are gone, he'd have assessed and seen what needs to be done, let him come on and shake things up.
I agree. Place kicking at test match level is vital. I would play Sacha at fullback if Manie is playing flyhalf. Or play Willie at fullback when Handre is flyhalf. We need a reliable place kicker on the field at all times. You should give these 2 combinations 50% of the playtime over the Rugby Championship. Then we can see who is the better at other aspects of the game like defence, attack and strategy. Handre and Willie are getting on in years. But they seem very happy to pass their knowledge onto the younger players. Rassie is very intelligent and knows how to get the best out of his pool of players.
Pollard best kicker, Manie best general player and Sasha have both but not the best. Give Sasha the 10 jersey against Australia and All blacks. Let see how good he really is. We did it to Mamie so it should not be a problem for Sasha that been groomed to become a Bok.

I might just sound like a bias bulls fan but I honestly believe that Embrose Papier was overlooked. I know we're looking toward the future with guys like Morne but Papier was back to his best for the bulls this season. His support play is 2nd to none and his pass is crisp and quick. Would have loved to see him partner with someone like Sascha.

Pollard is no attacking rugby. If the Am is fit maybe the attack improves . But if it's good old kick at post rugby from Naas Botha days well Pollard it is. Just seems the fans are tired of the same old "kicking game"

@Redline29827 😂😂fair but they were up against the best defense system in the world. I mean, I agree we need a good kicker, Manie on his day can give you a 3/3 yes but you can't be certain. I'd say Sacha can come in and Start but for now I'd rather have him come on and finish off the game sorta like how we use the bomb squad to kill games, I'd have him come on and do just that for us. Legs are gone, he'd have assessed and seen what needs to be done, let him come on and shake things up.
I agree. Place kicking at test match level is vital. I would play Sacha at fullback if Manie is playing flyhalf. Or play Willie at fullback when Handre is flyhalf. We need a reliable place kicker on the field at all times. You should give these 2 combinations 50% of the playtime over the Rugby Championship. Then we can see who is the better at other aspects of the game like defence, attack and strategy. Handre and Willie are getting on in years. But they seem very happy to pass their knowledge onto the younger players. Rassie is very intelligent and knows how to get the best out of his pool of players.

Pollard best kicker, Manie best general player and Sasha have both but not the best. Give Sasha the 10 jersey against Australia and All blacks. Let see how good he really is. We did it to Mamie so it should not be a problem for Sasha that been groomed to become a Bok.
