My thoughts exactly -- how to ruin the tune. There were probably twelve drummers backstage who could have stepped in to give this what it needed instead of this thumping sludge job.
Hilarious that people are just calling him “drummer”. Now I agree he’s a bit heavy handed here because you can barely hear Zac but that’s Dave Grohl. Besides being not only a fantastic drummer, guitarist, and singer, he is a great philanthropist, and I’ve literally never heard anyone say bad things about him as a person. Everyone seems to love him even if they don’t like his music.
