We saw our wonderful Jimmy in Australia at the Sydney Opera House and later at Byron Bay festival. Vicki and I had planned to travel up from Melbourne again soon for another fun loving, great vibes concert wherever he performed in Australia. We will NEVER FORGET HIM and never stop playing his
I was a roadie after my stint in the Air Force, he hired this starving veteran and took me all the way to Houston Texas. Working and eating the whole way, I got to meet a lot of stars then along the way. I’ll never forget his kindness and love of exploration, I count him as one of a few of best friends. Very intelligent and inspiring seeing past the veneer of everyday life.
I’ve just been listening to Jimmy every day…. such a prolific songwriter that the world was fortunate to enjoy!! Thank you Jimmy for so many songs to help us along our journey on this earth. Hoping to see you again someday! Fins up!! 🌴❤🎶
I was at Keith Urbans Atlantic City show and the 2’nd and witnessed his tribute to Jimmy. It was surreal to hear the entire arena sing along with Keith! Fins Up Mr. Buffett. You will be sorely missed.
Since his passing I find myself getting teary eyed listening to his music and watching the tributes here. His death has hit me so hard. Much moreso than I expected.
Same here. Never have I grieved an entertainer like this since I was a little girl and Elvis died. It’s so surprising how sad I am. I loved his music, but I wasn’t expecting this amount of sadness.
@@duchessduke7142 Yep, Mississippi produced those two Greats, among many others. "I come from where the rivers meet the sea,..That's part of why I'm so wild and fancy free" ("Floridays"-JB). Me too, for Jimmy lived across the street from me as young boys and those rivers were the Pascagoula and Singing Rivers that meet the Gulf at the Mississippi Sound, three miles apart,... our old sailing, fishing, swimming and stomping grounds when we were all "so wild and fancy free". We had a ball and loved every minute of it. No surprise to me that Jimmy grew up true to his happy, kind nature, pursued his musical career through thick and thin, giving joy and happiness to millions world wide. But, his passing did surprise me and, like you, has given me a profound sadness,... one that can only be erased by his mirthful music now. Sail On, Sailor's Son!
I never met Jimmy Buffet. I watched him on TV countless times. I heard his Music countless times. My heart hurts right now. I know it’s crazy, but I feel like I knew him personally. I feel such a sadness over his passing, and for his family. Praying for this entire family during this very difficult time. May they find the Peace & Comfort they need to get through this. To the entire Buffet Family… I am truly sorry for your loss! My prayers are with you.
He wasn't someone you needed to meet. Love his music. You knew him. He loved life. It came across on stage. I've spoken to ppl in fla. Lived on same street. "He goes out picks up his paper. Waves at cars that go by. ". He was true to himself
I live in Franklin, TN. One morning I had dropped off my son at school. I drove the back roads to get home. As I rounded a corner, a dog, on a leash, lunged toward my car. I stopped, looked up & there was Jimmy Buffet, walking his dog. We looked at each other. His look was, “Yes, I’m who you think I am, but don’t say anything. I’m just walking my dog”! I thought, “You’re Jimmy Buffet!!!” But I didn’t say anything. Ironically, I was playing a “cassette” of Jimmy Buffet’s songs. My brief moment that he really did exist in Franklin!!
Jimmy was the Real Deal..,..so talented.... A rare spirit larger than life....how lucky heaven will be to welcome him..,...I still can't believe he's gone.....prayers for his family and loved ones
Jimmy Buffett wasn't just a singer and songwriter. He was a poet, and a poet for the ages because he could felicitously and amusedly touch a nerve of the human condition that only a poet could touch. His touch was one of understanding, compassion, amusement and self-deprecation in doing what we all need to do, especially today-- laugh inwardly and appreciatively at ourselves. That his work allows us to do this so naturally and unashamedly is why his songs are important and will stay with us forever. It's also why he'll be loved forever, too.
Thank you. Fortunately, we're not the only ones who will miss Jimmy and offer expressions like this. I'm guessing the outpour of similar sentiment will only grow over time. Take care. @@alexbohlman8572
Jimmy Buffett is the greatest transcendentalist poet of all time and he could sing and play the guitar a little too. I've been listening to him since middle school because my mother played his cassette tapes in the car as she drove me to school. I'm now living one of his songs in the Florida Keys that he didn't even know he wrote. Thank you and God Bless you Jimmy!
It's been a week since Jimmy left us, and this whole week his songs keep running through my brain...and certain ones still make me cry. It's as if his songs captured the highs, lows, hopes and dreams of generations of us. All the tributes that have poured in, are testament to what a great and generous man he was...something we can all aspire to.
I for one celebrate his passing, dude was fighting a losing battle with uncurable cancer and in hospice just waiting to die, a suffering predicament Id wish on no one. RIP and Thanks for all the good tunes and vibes. Have some cheeseburgers and ritas in Paradise for me.🇺🇸🍻✌🏻
Jimmy's passing has been one of the hardest ones I've ever had to deal with for an artist I truly enjoyed, it's almost as if I lost a relative, he just meant that much to so many people and I was blessed to have seen him three times in concert and I never get tired of hearing those songs they always take me to a happy place. rest in peace Captain🏴☠️🌴⛵️🏄♂️🍺🦈🍔😢
Same thing I felt like I had lost a family member. I suppose Jimmy made us all feel like part of the family. I also got to see him in concert three times. Once with his daughter when she was little and he took a break when it was her bedtime to put her to bed. It was a small venue in Jacksonville where they held dance recitals and such. not more than 300 people (before Margaritaville) and it was just Jimmy and his guitar (savannah Jane played bongos before she went to bed. I will never forget that.
I was crushed when I heard. Of course I like to jam with his more popular songs, but if you take a deeper dive you really get to hear how well he could write lyrics and weave a story. And he was very good at covering a song but in a different way. This is why I love his music so much. If you get a chance listen to his cover of Southern Cross or Silver Wings. And if you want to hear the magic of his original lyrics, listen to Barefoot Children In The Rain. If I could sing at all I would sing this to my children.
I treasure the memories of the multiple Jimmy Buffett concerts I have attended in my life time. He had a way of lifting you up and making you happy, no matter how you were feeling before. My condolences to his family. He will be missed by his ,any fans.
He was an experience. If you’ve ever listen or been to a concert, he hooks your soul he settles in and never leaves. He is one of the greats like my Eagles. He’s infectious and I plan on letting my granddaughters listen to him and will them all of my finals! He will never be gone.💔
Thank you for the influence you've put on us all. I think many of us parrotheads felt we had you as a friend and it has added to the shock. You'll always be with us and i think we will all truly feel it everyday. Sail on Jimmy Buffett, God bless you and keep you.
Jimmy has been part of my life for so many years...since about day 1. Beach bum, margarita lovin, Caribbean traveler...Jimmy was there. Like losing your best friend party animal of 40 plus years. I caught most of his blogs and covid shows which were many concert replays. Good times. Heart broken. Going to miss him very much. His album coming out in Nov is a welcome farewell gift to us all. Thank you for this.
I’ve have a smile on my face and tear in my eye. Jimmy Buffett wasn’t the best singer, he wasn’t the greatest guitarist, but he was one hell of a preformer. His music and lyrics painted a picture that spoke to so many peoples souls. He never disappointed at a concert. He always showed up. And he was always excited to have a good time with his fans and his enthusiasm was infectious. I’ve been to many concerts in my lifetime and it’s kind of hard to describe a Buffett show to someone who hasn’t actually experienced it. Sometimes it wasn’t even about the music. Just a big happy magical beach party. They are more like events rather than concerts. People are singing, dancing, drinking and smoking some sort of something illicit. But what’s perhaps most notable is that everyone got along. People were actually nice to one another. And they gladly shared whatever substance they happen to have. I’m thinking of Jimmy sailing to his own tropical beach. Enjoy paradise Jimmy!🦜🦈
I concur…. Just one big magical beach party with the grandest host of all. It took two days to recover so my Monday was enjoyed laying around and listening to his music. Don’t let the party’s stop “ PARROT HEADS”. He is watching us all and still digs us celebrating his music! Rip JB!
I agree. Jimmy was not the best singer. (As those that know me, Mikey Love might be better!) Oh, I can "extrude" stuff better than Mikey "love." (Can ANYONE prove the "love," in Mikey?!) Sorry, the only time I wouldn't "go" in Mikey's face, is if it was on fire! What he was (is) an AWESOME storyteller. in my life, no one better. Find one! Only 2, and I wish I saw more concerts. Both here in Phoenix. Last one was 9 Mar 23. Yes, this year! AWESOME! Couldn't tell. steve
His song, "BILOXI," is one of my favorite Jimmy Buffet songs. It's so poignant. Being from the souths Gulf Coast, Jimmy was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. He was living away (Key West, Florida), I felt like he may have been a bit homesick at the time he wrote this song. Jimmy paints a beautiful picture of that beach scene through the bittersweet melody, descriptive heartfelt lyrics, and delivery of this song that it tugs at your hearts strings. His ultra talanted harmonica player and long time member of the Coral Reefer band, Greg "Fingers" Taylor doesn't disappoint, once again with his accompanying Jimmy in this song The soulful sad way he breaks in at the exact right time, blowing the exact right tune in this song and actually, everytime in all the Buffet songs he performs in, always blows me away. His mouth harp accentuates the song and lends to the melancholy feeling it's arousing arousing in you. But, no one can argue that Jimmy Buffet wasn't and still is one of the best balladeers of our time. Be with God, Jimm and rest peacefully in His arms. Thank you old friend for a lifetime of entertaining me for all of sweet memories that those songs stir in me.
Pardon,..... Jimmy Buffet was born on Christmas Day in Pascagoula, MS in 1946 and as a young boy he lived across the street from me at 1305 Roosevelt Street (Google his childhood home, it's on their map), before his father moved him to Mobile. Biloxi was only 20 miles away so Jimmy grew up knowing all about it and New Orleans, where he enjoyed Mardi Gras and later learned to be a Master Entertainer playing on Bourbon Street/Clubs. His concerts (parties) always had the feel of a New Orleans Mardi Gras crowd,... nothing but good moods, friendship, and the joy at being alive and celebrating Life.
In 1995 at JB concert in Raleigh fairgrounds NC. Four hours before, I commented to a security guard about all the drinking. He responded: “we never arrest anyone at Jimmy Buffett concert. But at Waylon Jennings - drinking all that whiskey - we arrest half of them.” What a testament to Jimmy. All that partying, but everyone is in such a great mood that there are no problems. Boy will we miss him.
I'm a Canadian Parrothead. I think that "Cheeseburger In Paradise and Margaritaville" are two of my favorites. Thank you for everything Jimmy Buffett you were "The Best". Rest In Peace brother. You have now entered Rock and Roll Heaven. 🇨🇦❤️🇺🇸🙏🕊🎵📻🌹🦜🧂
The music of Jim Croce, Bob Marley, Harry Chapin, John Denver, Warren Zevon, Gordon Lightfoot & Jimmy Buffet enriched my life with love, light, tears, laughter and joy. I couldn't imagine what life would have been like without these 7 talented musicians.
@@bradmiller9993 I have been listening to Jimmy since 1979. Which Im sure is longer than you have been alive. Jimmy's nickname is "Bubba". Not once in 40 years ever heard anyone calling him "Bufay".
@@SOLDOZER It was a joke based on how people would mispronounce his name, saying “buffet” (Bu-Fay). On his “Somewhere Over China” album he covers the song “On a Slow Boat to China,” which during the first few seconds of the song there is a person speaking and they introduce him as Jimmy Bu-Fay. Any Parrothead from 1979 would surely know this.
Damn, what are we to do Come Monday; Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday! He brought joy and a respite to us all to forget all of this craziness and JUST ENJOY LIFE again. You are missed but you live on in all of us that had the pleasure of your concerts. Sail on JB knowing you bought a little pleasure to the world.
So many concerts attended and so many memories made. I had a barroom in 1 of my homes and needed a theme so I had a mural done of the Barometer Soup album cover. Perfection. Sail on sailor, you are loved by so many who will never forget you.
Never met the man. Loved his music and his attitude. I got into a conversation with an American soldier during a short posting from Sarajevo to Zagreb in 1994 (I was a Canadian UN civilian employee). His tour was about to end, no idea about how Jimmy came up. He left me two cassette tapes of Jimmy Buffett. Very thankful to him and Buffett for making a Sarajevo winter under siege (I was sent back a couple of weeks later) more comfortable.
After catching his show every year since 1985, I’m still realizing the end of the parking lot parties and watching Jimmy run out onto the stage and just having one of the best times of your life
His song *'Growing Older But Not Up'* - the title became my favorite catch phrase.. When anyone asks how I'm doing, that is always my reply. Rest in Paradise Jimmy - Fins Up! - 🦈🦜🍔🏝
When I played SECOND WIND and TREAT HER LIKE A LADY, I couldn't help the tears. God bless your memory and God rest your soul, kind sir. Your music will live in our hearts and souls forever and always.
I haven't been feeling well enough to do so, but I have my margarita and cheeseburger waiting for me! Hopefully I will be able to indulge in loving memory of one of my favorite people tonight!! His music has been playing constantly for 5 days! While his music will always be right at hand, just knowing that he won't be around to continue doing all of the good stuff he did for others here on earth, makes me the saddest!! God bless you Jimmy! Heaven is serving cheeseburgers in paradise by the dozens, I imagine!! Love to your family and friends who will miss you beyond measure!
He was an amazing person He would sometimes drive through parking lot during pre show tailgates and one time we saw him flying in helicopter low over fans in Philly He really loved fans and it showed Really going to miss him
When Jimmy wrote "Come Monday", he was a struggling musician staying in a Howard Johnson's motel in Corte Madera California, just a few miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. He was depressed, and playing for a few bucks per night at local clubs and bars in Marin County. That motel is still there and I pass by it often, thinking of how Jimmy wound up there and wrote such a wonderful song while cooped up in a motel room, and how that song changed his life and the lives of so many people who loved him. RIP Jimmy. The world is a better place because you were here.
The man and his music was all in good humor and fun. He always cheered me up and feel happy…so glad I have several of his CD’s. Life wont be the same without him.
Jimmy's music is the soundtrack for my life, of everything joyful. First time I ever heard his music I was 12 or 13 and on my first beach vacation to OBX. It was very rustic back then, nothing like it is now. I heard Margaritaville playing on the radio many times that week we were there as if it was embedded in the air. I was hookex!!! Both on Jimmy and OBX. And it was Jimmy's music that sealed the love between me and my husband back when we were dating!! LOL!! We both had a passion for his music and he often sang Jimmy's ballads to me like Come Monday and Son of a Sailor. I regret that I was never able to see him in concert, it was my dream. Thank you Jimmy for making life on this crazy rock so much more enjoyable. So glad we have your precious music to keep us going until we all get to that other shore and that One Particular Harbor. Love and peace.
Jimmy's songs introduced me to Steel Drum music, which I have come to love. First time hearing Margaritaville, made me a lifetime fan. His songs "Barometer Soup" and "Jimmy Dreams" are two of my favourites, yet it seems they rarely get mentioned when people talk about their favourite Buffet songs. Barometer Soup's Steel drum intro just sends me away. He had so many great songs, Come Monday...Changes in Latitudes...He Went To Paris...A Pirate Looks At 40...Boat Drinks... and a little known recording Titled By-Pass My Heart....and I could go on. R.I.P. Jimmy.
My fondest memory of Mardi Gras in Mobile, growing up in the 80s, was ending at night at the downtown Holiday Inn down in the parking lot, Jimmy would pull some speakers out and a mic and play. The parking lot would fill real quick, it was impromptu and free. RIP Jimmy, Thank You for the memories you gave me.
Not sure why his death hit me hard, I wasn't a huge fan as in I didn't know all his songs, but the songs I knew I loved and they would take away my anxiety and make me feel like I was getting a big hug by my parents. 2 weeks later and I still feel it enough to get me teared up, and I don't get teared up. Whatever chord you played Jimmy that hits my soul, thank you for that, you'll live forever.
A pirate looks at forty,He went to Paris, The Captian and the Kid, Changes in Latitude changes in Attitude , oh helI love everything Jimmy Buffett ever sang.❤❤❤❤
I was never able to go to one of his concerts unfortunately but I was a huge fan of his. He exuded happiness and fun. He made us feel young. You can't listen to one of his songs without having a constant smile on your face. He will forever be missed. RIP JIMMY
I'm glad I got to see him in concert twice. I read one of his books, he was a very intelligent and very talented man and did a lot of things that most people don't have a clue about. I'll miss him a lot, but I'll always smile when I sing along to one of his songs.
Read more of his books. He is a better storyteller than a singer. Ask Frank Bama, Joe Merchant, or Tully Mars. Can't remember the pig's name.) Swine No. A Pirate looks at 50. steve
I have been a Jimmy Buffett fan from the late 70s One of the most magical things about Jimmy Buffett’s songs is that they lift us when we are down and amplify our joys. Each of us knows the lyrics. Each of us has a song that somehow hits home (maybe several). I don’t say this lightly Jimmy was more than a person, he was more like an idea (I’m not sure how to explain it but I would guess many of you understand) We have certain songs that are a bit like road songs for life, you know the ones with the windows rolled down and singing at the top of your lungs, Fins, Changes in Latitude's, Volcano, then there are the songs that hit home, that brings a tear to your eye because for each of us it brings back a memory that his song helped us through it or makes us remember how we got through bad or sad times. For example for me: I was moving to the “Coast of Carolina”, without my girlfriend and these lyrics hit hard: (And the walls that won't come down, We can decorate or climb, or find some way to get around, Cause I'm still on your side, From the bottom of my heart.) really hit home, in fact my eyes are watering up just thinking about it. or “Captain and the Kid” - My Dad passed away on Father's Day after helping me move a boat down the Chesapeake Bay. His songs are more than songs, they are touch stones, when you hear them, they are a passage, a link (if you prefer) to your inner joy, or sorrow, it opens that special place in your memory, and that is what makes his music and his life so special. I know I speak for many, Jimmy you were the soundtrack to our lives. We will be eternally grateful for your gift to us.
Went to the 1989 Denver vs Atlanta Super Bowl in Miami. My buddy and I decided we wanted to drink at captain Tony’s in key west. I was bartending at the time and out of nowhere I asked if they are looking for any help. Guy said YES and informally interviewed me right there. When I got home a week later a phone message said I’ve got the job. I was going to take it JUST to meet Jimmy Buffett. My friends thought I was crazy and I wonder what my life would have been if I took it. I did finally meet Jimmy in Chicago. Around 15 years of front and center at concerts evidently helped that. He came up to the balcony at the Chicago theater and shook my and we shared a laugh. Thanks for everything JB!!🌴🦈🍔🍻🎣
My dad introduced me the the magic of the ocean when I was a toddler living 2 blocks from the beach, I learned to bodysurf, fish, and sail. I thought Jimmy was singing to me but I see it was so many of us.
I am so sad Jimmy Buffet passed away. He will be so missed. I saw Jimmy Buffet so many times in the late 70’s & early 80’s when he was in his prime. Always a good show. The best one was when he showed up for the fun of it in a fun Bar in Gardner, Montana close to the entrance of Yellowstone National Park.He had such a zest for life & such a happy go lucky man. He kept his concerts at a reasonable price so we could all afford to see him.🎉I always remember where I was when one of his new songs came out.
I didn't listen to Jimmy that often but I did enjoy his music. I was so sad to hear of his passing a few days ago. He will be dearly missed. ❤️ Jimmy, you finally found that lost shaker of salt. Now go and eat cheesburgers in the real paradise! Rest in peace, Mr. Buffett! ❤🙏🌈
I NEVER had the wonderful experience of seeing Jimmy live and in person. The week before Jimmy passed I had just started making a bucket list of artists. I wanted to see in concert as soon as possible. Number one on the list was Jimmy Buffett. Fortunately, there are many recorded concerts, so Jimmy’s music lives on. But, of course, I was heartbroken, like most of his fans.
I had the joy and honor of producing a live national radio broadcast of Jimmy July 4, 1980. I'd love playing his music when I was the morning DJ on WBCN/Boston. LOVE the man's spirit and messages. Indeed, we ARE all FRUITCAKES! My heart's wrapped around the family, dogs too!
Anyway ne that met Jimmy in person considered a friend. A lot of us dealt with happy, sad and just every about everyday❤ life listening and singing along to Jimmy’s music. Our heart felt sympathy and tears go out to his family. Most of us considered him a very talented friend. Thanks to all of his family for sharing him with us. He will be missed by so many fans. When I heard of his passing, I felt a light go out but he will live on in our hearts ❤ and souls. Janice, TN, RN
Went to 5 of his concerts. 1st at Caesars Tahoe, CA, Coconut Telegraph Tour. Standing on the table to Fins and Cheeseburger in Paradise. Loved him so madly and miss him so badly 😢 He was like no other. RIP JB🙏🏻💐
He was amazing to see live...such a story teller and so much great music! I came of age listening to Jimmy Buffet, and will forever remember so many memories that his songs bring to my mind.
I was introduced to Jimmy’s music by a friend at University in the early 90s, and have been hooked ever since. Saw him in concert in Las Vegas in 05. Such a great storyteller with so many great songs. One of my favourite lyrics of all time is “ if it suddenly ended tomorrow I could somehow adjust to the fall. Good times and riches and son of a bitches I’ve seen more than I can recall. “ RIP.
I am just starting to deal with this loss. He was such a big part of my childhood. I know at least three or four of his albums by heart. Coconut Telegraph is one of my favorites and I believe it influenced how I live and deal with life. Just today I was talking with a coworker about how I deal with the frustration of our job. Whenever this type of thing comes up I remember It's My Job. So I shared the song with her. And now I am going back to work but with Jimmy playing in the background. I am fortunate enough to be able to listen to music as I work. RIP Jimmy. Thank you for the music, the laughter, the books, life philosophy, and so much more.
RIP Jimmy, loved you for years and went to a few live shows. Bought everything you put out and still listen to it often. My tribute to Jimmy is between me and my dermatologist who always is telling me to use sunscreen. Now, at least so far since we lost him, I never go outside without my “Jimmy-Juice” (sunscreen). It’s certainly a way to remember it! So here’s to a great artist who’s music brings me joy…and maybe the way he died could save my life. Use your Jimmy-Juice”! Sail on!
I once made a delivery to his Palm Beach home. The yard was full of surfboards and fishing poles. He had an old landrover in the backyard with the hood up like he had been working on it. He really loved the outdoors. We will miss him.
RIP Jimmy... I'm sure you took some of the beach to heaven... With love and prayers to Jimmy's family and friends... Heaven has gained quite the choir member...
Sending prayers 😢 to the family and friends that Jimmy loved so much!! I never got the chance to meet him in person, but absolutely loved ❤his music. Everyone did!!! RIP JIMMY 🙏 ❤❤❤ YOU WILL BE TRULY MISSED
The world is a little less bright without Jimmy Buffett. As a Parrothead, I would say that the joy, love and escape that Jimmy gave to countless people, made the world a better place. He will always be missed, but his music will live on forever. My heart aches for Jane, his children, grandchild and family.
the passing of a celebrity/famous person usually doesn't affect me. but Jimmy's has. he was a part of the family, Bubba the zany, fun lovin' family member you were proud of. and glad he made good. he will be missed so very much. sadly I couldn't afford to go to his concerts anymore, but my memories of the dozen I did see are treasured memories.
The soundtrack of my oats-sowing days all the way to my redemption. I've seen him more times than any other band in my long life's list. It's five o'clock everywhere. 🍹 God love you, gifted musician.🙏🏻
Loved, Loved, ABSOLUTELY LOVED JB and his music! Honestly, to me, from the first time (back in the 1970s, I’m 65 now) I even HEARD one of his songs, I was in love with the words, the music, and the message! He was truly an incredible artist! He will definitely be missed!!! 💔 Thanks for all the great music and memories, Jimmy! RIP ♥️
The thing about Jimmy Buffets music…you could be having an absolutely awful day and if one of his songs came on a smile was sure to happen. You had to sing along and your heart was bound to feel lighter. There are very very few entertainers who can inspire that reaction. RIP Jimmy. Now it’s always 5 o’clock
Jimmy's greatest performance for me was in portland oregon at the coliseum back in the 80s. Somehow I scored a front row center aisle seat. The entire front row had a kick line going! A girl saw me in that prime seat and came running down from some higher seat and lands on my lap and wraps her arms around me. I was totally surprised, but absolutely rolled with it.... until security dragged her away. In the lights Jimmy could only see a couple of the first rows. He watched all this happen. After I lost "my girl", I looked up to see him laughing. He holds his hands up and shrugs. I laugh and do the same since this is just what happens in Margaritaville ! What a classic Buffett moment in life! I only wish I knew I would start this business, because I know Jimmy would have loved to live on one of the habitats I create. oh well, maybe one day when we are both over that horizon. Thank you Jimmy for all the years, all the smiles. Peace and joy to your spirit. Oh , if you are that girl reading this, stop on by. I know we will have a laugh or three!
Thank about influence. Thanks to our buddy Jimmy I fell in love with the Caribbean and Key West. After hearing School Boy Heart, I made it a point of learning to sail and then I got my pilots license. I would love to write a book but my life was no where near as exciting as his. When I turned my phone on the morning of September 2nd which by the way was my 70th birthday and I was in Bermuda with my family to celebrate I saw the first message telling me my favorite entertainer was dead. I felt like part of me died along with him. The world will be a little less happy without Jimmy Buffett. RIP pal.
Jimmy helped me look at all music with better understanding and open mindedness. I believe he was a great song writer. He was also a very accomplished author. His books are some of the best I have read. I am sad there will be no more stories from him either in song or book. He created a very memorable character named Tully Mars, (just like the angry red planet) a Wyoming cowboy and his horse Mister Twain. Such a great story Jimmy told. I want some banana pancakes now, just like Tully. God Bless Jimmy, Thank you for all you gave.
Let’s face it, most of us get two weeks vacation a year and that’s not really enough. We take maybe a week to just get away, crack a beer and relax. With Jimmy you could put on an album and take a mini vacation anytime you wanted.
I live in the Keys thanks to Jimmy Buffett! Most recently I found myself in my car in the middle of the night charging my phone as Hurricane Ian was slowly moving by off to the west a bit. My power was out and my phone wasn't charged. As I sat there in my weaving and bobbing little Kia Soul as the wind was whipping the trees to kiss the ground I timidly waited to check the radar. I had the radio on the local station Pirate Radio. I whispered almost apologetically "Why am I here again?" Just then Son of a Sailor came on the radio and I had my answer. Oh yeah, Jimmy Buffett. This is just part of it. I have to admit living here seems a little weird now even though I never got to meet him, let alone be friends. Hopefully the weight of all of us living his life as our own served him well through his years. His soul may be in Heaven but his heart beats forever through generations who will always feel the warmth of the summer sun, hear the lapping waves of an afternoon tide and taste the melting salt off the rim of an ice cold margarita when Jimmy comes on the radio. Jimmy Buffett, even though a billionaire I hear just made wherever we are and whatever we're doing enough. He left with enough music to last us forever. Thank you for everything🌅
I "walked in his flipflops" for over 50 years, from my intro to him at a bar where a friend played " nothing but Buffett"..I was hooked. I started buying his albums immediately. Several years later. about 1993, I opened a bar on a lake in Ohio, with a Florida Funk feel, and Jimmy all over the place. A year later my bar was instrumental in bringing Jimmy to our concert center, he came to the bar one time, I met him backstage a couple times, and, was lucky to have other encounters with him. I felt like, on Sept 1st, a best friend was taken from all of us. My personal journey was accompanied by him, every day of my life...trips to Key West, befriending Capt Tony, it was, in Jimmy's words, "a helluva ride"...Bubbles up Jimmy!
Margerettaville , Come Monday The Song That I. Immediately Thought of When My Youngest Brother Told Me of His Passing Was Cheeseburger in Paradise & Said it to him. We Grew up Me & Both My Brothers Listening To Jimmy on the Radio,TV & More With Our Parents Jimmy Will Surely & Truly Be Missed Another Icon & Leg and Home But Not Forgotten. He is Now Singing In Heavens Choir
If you have ever been to a Jimmy Buffet concert, it was not a concert it was a sing along and it was wonderful! RIP Jimmy, you will be missed by many!
We saw our wonderful Jimmy in Australia at the Sydney Opera House and later at Byron Bay festival. Vicki and I had planned to travel up from Melbourne again soon for another fun loving, great vibes concert wherever he performed in Australia.
We will NEVER FORGET HIM and never stop playing his
Perfectly said.
Saw him in 2019 - best time I've ever had at a concert! He'll be missed by so many of us....
It was a party.
Been to two. Once in Maryland and once in Ohio.
Thanks for the music and the love, Jimmy. I'm 73, been a friend for years.
My favorite song of his was "Come Monday". He said that song saved his life. Rest in peace, Jimmy!
Ditto…also liked He went to Paris
Kinda poetic he made it for "the Labor Day weekend show" 😔
I lost my virginity listening to COME MONDAY . A song that will always be in my heart....along with my partner on that night.
Those memories are golden. you were so fortunate.
Thanks for your service!🍔🎣🍻🫡🌴
So sorry for your loss of a great friend you were privileged to know and he with you!! I’m sure he enjoyed your company as well!!
I’ve just been listening to Jimmy every day…. such a prolific songwriter that the world was fortunate to enjoy!! Thank you Jimmy for so many songs to help us along our journey on this earth. Hoping to see you again someday! Fins up!!
🌴❤🎶
Thank you fellow Air Force veteran. You were truly blessed to have had Jimmy Buffet as a friend. Hope your memories of Jimmy always keep you smiling.
I was at Keith Urbans Atlantic City show and the 2’nd and witnessed his tribute to Jimmy. It was surreal to hear the entire arena sing along with Keith! Fins Up Mr. Buffett. You will be sorely missed.
I’m glad I was on this planet at the same time Jimmy Buffett. Such a prolific singer, song writer and composer. This one hurts.
Yes it does.
It hurts REALLY bad! 💔
Since his passing I find myself getting teary eyed listening to his music and watching the tributes here. His death has hit me so hard. Much moreso than I expected.
Me too 😢.
Me as well. A week later and I'm just absorbing. Tears in my eyes.
@@duchessduke7142 same. Now I know what my elders meant by the passing of Elvis Presley but by different circumstance.
He was n is still great. Rsp
Perfectly said❤
He wasn't someone you needed to meet. Love his music. You knew him.
He loved life. It came across on stage. I've spoken to ppl in fla. Lived on same street. "He goes out picks up his paper. Waves at cars that go by. ". He was true to himself
He will be surely missed in our family! My brother was his Trumpet player for close to 30 years!!
He had a trumpet in the band,,must have missed it.
John Lovell? Or Stiles? Either way, my condolences to your brother. 💞
I felt like I was a crushed hat WWII pilot dancing with a swell gall at a USO or something in lots of his songs that I have in my heart.
He definitely hit a vital chord in many of us. I feel like I've lost a friend. Take care.@@The2ndFirst

You need to write this down somewhere else and share it. Very beautifully written
Extremely well said! Kudos to living the dream. ❤
Jimmy will be singing in the real paradise. R I P
Named for Savannah, GA😊
I went to that same concert in Jacksonville, and it was awesome!
@@waynerelstab3159 wow what a great memory and what a great opportunity to see a legend in a small venue that is something you will never forget
He didn't believe in God, or Jesus...unless that changed in later years.

Only 2, and I wish I saw more concerts.
Both here in Phoenix. Last one was 9

Couldn't tell.

Don’t try to describe a Kiss concert if you’ve never seen it… yeah.
Fingers is not doing well, either. So so sad all around. 😢
Loved and continue to love Jimmy Buffett ❤

I thought his albums were a manual for life. Colorado kid move to San Diego cause of jimmy. Saw him from 14 to 61. My number guider in life.
Do not forget Dolly!! When she dies our culture is dead.
I could.
Elton, Sir Paul, and Brian Wilson.
Jimmy rates right along these three.

His genius was both lyrical and literary; the world will be a poorer place without him, but we shall have his music forever. RIP Mr. Bufay.
Who's Mr Bufay??
Nickname for Jimmy. Pronounced "boofay".You're welcome. @@SOLDOZER
@@bradmiller9993 I have been listening to Jimmy since 1979. Which Im sure is longer than you have been alive. Jimmy's nickname is "Bubba". Not once in 40 years ever heard anyone calling him "Bufay".
That's " Mr. " Bufay to you. @@SOLDOZER
As a UK Parrothead, I've listened to JB for 40 years and will raise a glass and play his music in his memory. Rest in peace Jimmy.
He has some heart wrenching ballads, also. Tin Cup Chalice, Changing Channels are just a few.
My son still can’t play his music,he loved it so much and is in mourning for the lost of a wonderful singing man with a very big heart.
I’m 72 and I don’t drink much anymore but when I I’m going to raise my drink and say To You Jimmy for the rest of my life 🎶❤️🌅🌴💦🦜

I have been a Jimmy Buffett fan from the late 70s
One of the most magical things about Jimmy Buffett’s songs is that they lift us when we are down and amplify our joys.
Two weeks later I’m still devastated but so grateful for Jimmy’s life and legacy. So much joy and energy can never disappear. Live like Jimmy❤
What an awesome guy! He will surely be missed…but his music will live on forever ! RIP Jimmy! ❤
God bless you Jimmy, we'll miss you, but your music will live on forever!!
Buffett! ❤🙏🌈
Sending prayers out to the family. I love Jimmy I grew up with him.😢
I NEVER had the wonderful experience of seeing Jimmy live and in person.
I am so devastated. Ever since his death I am listening to nothing but Jimmy Buffett music
RIP.
Bubbles Up... What a wonderful legacy he left us all.
Most loved human being and songwriter ❤️😘🙏
Sail on!
"Cowboy In The Jungle." I've loved that song since I was a teenager in the 70's. Beautiful melody and great, funny lyrics.
Never got to see Jimmy live. I'm 50 and been listening to him for as long as I can remember. God bless his family. 💜💛

Coastal Confessions!...Thank you Jimmy 😢❤
Thank about influence. Thanks to our buddy Jimmy I fell in love with the Caribbean and Key West. After hearing School Boy Heart, I made it a point of learning to sail and then I got my pilots license. I would love to write a book but my life was no where near as exciting as his. When I turned my phone on the morning of September 2nd which by the way was my 70th birthday and I was in Bermuda with my family to celebrate I saw the first message telling me my favorite entertainer was dead. I felt like part of me died along with him. The world will be a little less happy without Jimmy Buffett. RIP pal.
Come Monday is one of my favorites, but it’s hard to pick just one. His songs were wonderful.
All his songs are amazing their all the same awesome 💯🧚🕊️
