The hunt is real! I spend hours and hours each week, combing through thrift stores, estate sales, auctions, flea markets & Antique centers ... to bring home the goods and prepare them for selling in my Ebay store, my antique booth and on Facebook Marketplace, which fully supports me.

The wax heart was made and sold in Germany as a souvenir back in the 1980’s. I brought back a dozen or more in various shapes for my friends and family. I can’t remember which part of Germany they were sold but at that time they were specific to a region.
i think they were common all over germany, but in bavaria especially… we had small ones for the christmastree😊
The ones I have are from Bavaria. I have family there and they are often (these days) used as ornaments on Christmas trees. I have some vintage ones. Have sold some in my vintage shop on Etsy, and I think I have one set left. So pretty.

Having first generation American Italian patents, I was guilted into believing that I couldn't leave until I married. When I turned 24 and still not married, I bolted. By then, I guess they were tired of having three grown single daughters at home.

Hi Karen, I was watching videos from the past and present and I’m not sure where I saw you pick up a clear chicken made of glass with an open bottom and put it back. My mom said when she was a child, Candy came in those and they had a cardboard cover on the bottom. You will find chickens, bunnies,ducks, glass cars. I’ve even seen a carriage and horse. Some of them are replicas but some of them are original to the 50s when she was a child and she has some of them. Shes will be 83 years old And when she was up in Lancaster, she saw Roger at a thrift store. We’re coming up soon to thrift. We hope to see you.
She was born in 39, so those glass candy holders are older than that.

Harry Potter Wands: when running comps, make sure you check the model/UPC because some have inter-active electronics in them and those sell for more then the commons. Same is true of other theme park wands, such as those from Great Wolf Lodge, where my granddaughters go.

Yes definitely a nut grinder! This brings back such great memories, when I was a little girl I would help my grandmother make Christmas cookies and she used this to chop walnuts. I wish I had her's so I may have to buy your's😊 thanks for showing that! ❤
Karen, I find I love watching Melissa too. For all sorts of reasons, but I love how similar your voices are. You both help my visual aesthetic. I prefer wood and books, but struggle with art and other stuff.

Karen - for those crystal chandeliers you could get clip-on lamp shades. They clip right onto the bulb. Because you may never find a hurricane that fits that crown!

I used to have those iron candle holders. I’m pretty certain that I got them at Kohls. And I think the Believe metal hooks would be for Christmas stockings if you don’t have a fireplace. 😅

I still have my Lane cedar chest from 1978. I think furniture store was called Pinky's in Myerstown Pa. Yes an offer to local high school girls graduating they asked to you look at bigger cedar chests and do a survey. In return you got a smaller chest. I keep pins in mine and my passport.
My goodwill in Nh gives you a return credit, up to 14 days with your receipt. But it is very small compared to the ones you go too. Love your channel.🌺
that wllpaper my parents had in the kicthen I remember they bought bec ause itw as washable ... yeah no one ever washed it it got that bictotine yellow stain on it but it was all over so you could not tell that "patina" was how it was bought LOL

In Arizona Goodwill takes returns within 7 days of purchase with receipt for merchandise only. It’s great because those hard to research items can be thoroughly investigated at home.

Went to a (California) Goodwill yesterday and the color of the week was purple for 50% off. I heard a manager talking to an employee saying "take down all the merchandise with purple tags." I asked them why they were taking the purple tag items to the back and they denied it. Shady!

"Goodwill Industries of North Carolina" (GINC) has very little going for it in Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, and Fuquay Varina, NC. It is sad! There are no carts in Holly Springs and Apex!😮

I was going to say jewelry but not sure about eyelet screws on the wood homemade piece. Some people use candelabras for jewelry storage.
The clear glass shades you were looking at are for oil lamps or at the least candles. Not modern lamps with lightbulbs. 😮
