Is it possible your Steam Desktop Theater is kicking in for some inexplicable reason? It's nuts but it is possible.
Open the game's Steam properties and disable "Use desktop game theater when SteamVR is active".
Let me know if that actually solves it, I'm curious. I would be a little mad if it did, because desktop game theater always tries to kick in when you don't want it. Useless feature.

You have to start the game in the VR room. Then it works. I made the mistake lunching the VR and then started the game on my home steam. So I got every time a fault as 101 or 108 etc. Like I said, start VR and wait until you are in the VR room, your library shows the games. Lunch it from there and done

Steam has had Vr-issues for years now. Cannot be fixed. They get worse over time.

@@misoswan1087 ALL VR-software will break, yes, no matter if it´s more modern or old. There are no exceptions. You cannot read that. i predicted that. I calculated that (mathematic, complex, but easy enough to understand calculations, i call it the "4-year rule"). I know exactly how they create modern porcessors. What latencies they have (how these are making your software slowly become unstable) and how slow bandwdith they use in modern processors (slow bandwidth makes modern processors worse in internet-tasks more and more each year).
Modern processors simply aren´t suitable for this task. Which is why more and more people on Steam complain that their VR has stopped working as well.
This is just the beginning though (i call it "Phase 3" = User starts to notice there is an issue he/she cannot fix).
If other companies will release VR-glasses that just means these will break/stop working too.
This issue is not just valid for VR. But all microphone and Cameras will stop working too. And any other form of peripheral inputs as well. As they have the same issues. Meaning: Running on processors, not made to run them for a long time.
"I've been using one vr for 4 years and I still have it"
Yes. But that doesn´t mean it will work forever. Because NOTHING can work forever.
Even the most powerful processors (which AMD/Intel no longer produce btw) cannot run VR-software forever. There comes a time when any sofware breaks.
I calculated this time is exactly ~4.5 years. See? Above 4-year-rule. 4x 11 (*2) = 88%. 88% Dark Silicon. 88% Dark Silicon after 4 years of using your processor means your processor can only run ~12% of its transistors at once, as 88% of transistors have to be switched off. Which makes this issue start showing.
Just have a look at how much stuff is broken in Windows 11 now or on Steam in general...why do you think Windows 11 is the biggest Windows-flop since centuries?
      It´s the exact same principle.

For me F1 22 is much better in VR. F1 23's performance is horrible but the graphics are not better at all, they are actually worse because of the more aggressive sharpening and shitty SDR implementation, and a lot more bugs than 22. I have a 3080 Ti with a Quest3, and in 22 I'm able to run it in native resolution with 72 fps on the LOWEST settings, but in 23 the same settings results in like 50 fps. So I have to use the dynamic resolution, luckily that works really well, but the game is already blurry because of TAA, so you will never have a sharp and clean image like Automobilista 2 with MSAA. (This is also a problem in 2D too with recent F1 games) Oh and in both 22 and 23 has the same bug, when you try the anti-aliasing options to see which is looking less blurry, if one of them has sharpening, then this super aggressive sharpening remains on the image, ruining the picture so you have to restart the game for every single setting to see how it really looks! But use the normal TAA, with dynamic resolution scaling, looks better than DLSS. I didn't had spacewarp problems with the games, probably because I disabled it both in Virtual Desktop and the Oculus Debug Tool. It's a shame 23 is running crap and looks crap because it has great FFB. But overall 22 is much more enjoyable to me in VR. Hopefully in 24 they will fix the image quality and keep the good FFB, so when I get an RTX 5080 or something I might enjoy playing with that.

Yep, it has nothing to do with performance. As you see in this video fpsVR shows the game is actually running very, very well. It's just wobbly as fuck because the devs don't know how to implement VR. The issue is timewarp related rather than motion smoothing related.

This has been discussed for 2 years. The bug is that for both 22 and 23, there is a delay in the head tracking. The frame rate makes no difference. You notice it more in the garage with the UI because you move your head more. Codemasters hired a 3rd party to bolt on the VR implementation which is obviously broken but they decided not to fix it for 22 and just used the same bolt on for 23. They obviously don’t care. Lowering everything does not help as this is not a performance issue. Sure it appears worse if you do put settings that make the game underperform, but good performance does not solve anything.
As you can see in my video the game is keeping up a perfect framerate and it's still absolutely unplayable. Feels like you have someone bumping into your headset from the outside at random.

I don’t know but my VR meta quest 2 is running very good. No hick ups or interruption. What I noted, the shifting is very accurate on the VR compared to the normal monitor gaming. I have on the up shifting 1 sec or so delay. I was thinking it was the steering wheel and tried a fanatic CSL DD. Same problem. I think it’s the game. Doesn’t matter PS 4 or PC steam, with both systems I have the delay. Now I’m playing only VR, it’s the best ever for me.

Nonsense... I just bought f1 2023 and its absolutely crap quality for a supposedly premium game. Its even worse now than what this gentleman described.. After each race the VR screen would freeze on the car interior and on the PC monitor run the results and then the Steam Link would disconnect saying it needs to reconnect which you cant do without losing game progress so yeah it was a total waste buying F1 2023... quality is shite..

Same here. Had it with F1 2022 as well and hoped it was better in F1 2023 but hell no. Other racegames work fine, so indeed there must be something in the engine waay off. I turned all the graphicssetting to lowest and it was still there. Should not be on 3080Ti. Running on Virtual Desktop wireless or cable does not help. Wifi connection is ~2Gbit

try iracing. try rfactor. monitor sim racing is like driving with blinders on.
the quest 3 is the best VR headset of all time. what a shame!
