    I knew I could rely on you for a fair and balanced look at it. Sadly after my F1 22 purchase, which was my first dedicated F1 purchase since Grand Prix 4 back in the day, there just isn't enough to convince me to fork out another £60 for this. The '22 stability in lower gears could've been fixed with a patch rather than waiting for a new game to make it bearable.

      I wish Grand Prix 4 had safety cars and red flags. If it did there would literally be no reason to ever play the official F1 games.
      I'm so sad we never got GP5...

    It's so hard to find proper review about this title,but you managed to answer my questions in one short review in depth! Has to quit ACC and iRacing since it required a big time investment and yet I earned to try to play something from time to time, I hope that my DD won't be an overkill for this simcade 😅
    Thank you, truly an amazing review, very informative and straight to the point 👍

      I agree, I feel like a lot of sim players need to realise it’s not meant to be similar. It’s for the wider gaming community.
      Just have to view it differently than sim and you’ll have alot of fun

    I'm a hardcore ACC racer play everyday and I'm in 3 leagues a week and do endurance racing when available. I have also tried f123 recently and all though the drive is no where as a sim as ACC I enjoy it sometimes after racing a pure sim for many hours f123 is a perfect way to end the day. I did not like f122 at all so I'm really glad they fixed most of the game

    • @Ben_LaBroca

      Yeah I think I’m the same really - alongside mainlining iRacing for competitive online racing, a more casual or offline title is a great alternative.

      Another hardcore ACC player here👍 f122 was simply terrible and 23 really is a breath of fresh air. Sadly burnt out on ACC, just chasing tenths on every track with no career mode that can pull you in and crash kids online. Don't have time for leagues unfortunately.

      there is no doubt that AC is better for trully passionates for sim racing, but for 90 % of human beings f1 23 is a really really really good game. F1 22 wasn't. I don't like noob friendly games, but even real drivers said it was unrealistic how difficult it was to drive the car.

    For single player its a great game this year. While the FFB and physics might be better in some games they don't come close to the same offline experience for everything else. Managing tyres, fuel, ERS over a 100% race is simply unbeatable for any sim currently. The different strategy's the AI use, SC, weather etc is unmatched by any sim currently from my pov. Sure some have F1 cars but none will give you the same F1 racing experience imo. The only game that you could get a similar experience is AC through mods but the AI are terrible in that game. AMS2 doesn't have all the tracks or most of the F1 rules. Not only that but if it rains the AI are unaffected until the track requires full wets. So far I am really enjoying the game, sure nothing has changed in my team but the rest of the game is a step in the right direction. It will never be a sim but it is far from arcade either. Its tough enough to be fun but not so tough 95% of the people can't complete 5 laps without spinning. Again it has bugs but what game doesn't. For someone who has owned all the games since 2010, I can say this is the best one yet.

    • @Sergio-lh5xv
      @Sergio-lh5xv Год назад +2

      The AI stuff with AMS2 is just so frustrating. I have zero motivation to race against an AI who so blatantly cheats, reminds me of rubberbanding in the old need for speed games.

    • @TypeRTeg
      @TypeRTeg Год назад +2

      @@Sergio-lh5xv Couldn't agree more, no AI is using the same physics but with AMS2 its so obvious when racing them. Like you say they also feel very rubberbanding to race against. Honestly don't get why some rate them as being good to race with. For all its faults, the F1 game is by far the best single player racing game. It might not be a sim like AC etc but its great fun this year. Would rather the physics over AMS2 also, drifty cars but to forgiving.

    Bought last years game for the first time and to be honest it was very frustrating. I am not a sim racer in the least bit but I wanted to play something more real but boy was I pissed. However based on positive previews and reviews I bought 23. Off the bat a lot less frustrating. Something you didn't mention but I think worth noting is the part of the game called Series. It sort of holds your hand and gradually introduces you to different tracks and harder racing. It really helped me jump into the game. In last year's game I was so overwhelmed I spent 90 percent of my time doing time trials on Australia as I didn't feel really pushed to do anything in particular.

    I'm not sure the more "vibrant" force feedback of things like AC with the paid for F1 cars are more realisitic. Most real car feedback is through your backside, not thru a bucking bronco of a wheel.

As for F1 23 being close to be a real Sim Racing Game, I think they are closing the gap with the best Sim games actually. Okay, so maybe I'm just ill-informed, but when you're playing driver career mode, your contract ends one race before the season. So if you want to sign with a new team you'll immediately lose the constructor's championship. Championship. Is there a way to amend this so that you can finish out the season with the team you started with?

      I tried out the new version and gave it back due to the graphics qualitiy in VR. I only race in VR and this was not good enough for me. It was not a Performance issue with my Reverb G2 and a 4080. I had constant 90 fps on ultra settings, but in mid and far distance the visuals were too much blury. In these days I'd expect something better for 70€. It Kills the Immersion for me.

    I just bought myself a sim racing rig with the CSL DD. I got into sim racing because my brother has his own rig and he let me try auto mobalista 2. After driving F1, F2, and F3 cars. I just knew I had to build my own rig because of the feel of the car. It felt like I was actually driving and fighting the car. Just wanted to know if I’ll get that same experience for F1 23 or should I just wait and see for F1 24?

    • @Ben_LaBroca
      @Ben_LaBroca  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hey buddy - great you’re building your own rig! Every sim handles differently, but I’d say the F1 series give you a bit less feedback than full sims like AMS 2, Assetto Corsa, iracing or rFactor 2.
      It’s still lots of fun though and you could pick up 23 cheap now (possibly free with game pass ultimate) and 24 comes out in May.

EA should create a PC experience (M&KB, and full control calibration options for wheels and pedals, FULL VOF cockpit settings, movable mirrors and good physics into FFB translation) and a Console experience for joypad 3rd P racing.

    • @TypeRTeg
      @TypeRTeg Год назад +2

      The AI is miles better than AMS2 imo. If you give them room and don't divebomb from 50M back, they will race you hard and fair. I wouldn't say they cant be easy to bully but if you race them like you would a real person (or just by racing rules) they are great. Tyre wear plays a huge role this year, possibly over done? However the strategy used by all drivers (many mixed) 100% races are great fun. I believe 50% races and below are normally a 1 stop but you would struggle to make up time in shorter races anyway. AMS2 AI are so obvious when it comes to racing them, its clear they aren't running the same physics as the player (worst game for it imo) Not only that but they feel like they rubberband. Overall I would actually rate 23 over AMS2 especially for single player racing. The physics this year are actually really good compared to all the other games. Still not a sim like AC but I would prefer it over the ultimate gen 2 in AMS2.

    • @Ben_LaBroca
      @Ben_LaBroca  Год назад +2

      @@TypeRTeg yeah I’d generally agree with that critique of AMS 2 ai. There’s some maddening moments where you’re down the inside and somehow they just manage to brake waaaaay later and take the corner at a rapid speed to hold the position 😂

    • @TypeRTeg
      @TypeRTeg Год назад +1

      @@Ben_LaBroca Yeah, so many times they have taken a line that is impossible to carry speed but still manage to overtake you. Not only that but if you are ahead, like you say they brake way later than usual and can often just take you out. When it comes to changing conditions there the worst around. Can still lap at dry pace when the track is damp/wet. Sure they race you hard but the way they do it makes it no fun imo.
