    Hi from China.
    I bought the R9, CS Wheel and SRP pedals just over a week ago. I was going to buy a CSL DD + McLaren or GT DD Pro package but the sellers here had either run out or the prices were beyond insane.
    I really like the R9. The difference compared to my G29 was night and day. The pedals are ok but I would strongly recommend getting the accessory kit. I found the stock spring and dampner far too soft. There was a huge amount of travel before I got to the resistance point. The stiffest spring and dampner is much better.

      Howdy from the states.
      Nice. I love my Moza gear. The ease at which I can just add a different wheel by adding the QR. Software is easy and works as described. I had the CSL DD and Mclaren wheel too. The Mclaren wheel is no comparison to the GS imo. But coming from the G29 must feel like a massive upgrade.
      I haven't used their pedals I'm running Sprints at the moment. I do like some travel but want a defined threshold and braking point. So it makes sense to get the upgrade. Did I don't use a clutch so I would remove myself. Those pedals do look good too. I hear the brake is excellent. Thanks for the update.

    I started sim racing back in 2005-2007? My first sim racing game is the GTR Evo game on PC. Fantastic legendary game. I had a G25 wheel i got when it first came out and that was the top dog of racing wheels at that time. I recently sold it like 2 years ago during the pandemic as I wasn’t using it much and needed space in my apartment. Roll on to this year and at the beginning of the year i started racing again but on a control pad! It took me ages to get semi competitive in ACC on a pad with all assists off but i did it!!
    I was this close to buying a CSL DD until i heard about R9 and also life conditions changed as i and my partner decided to go full on buying our first property. So i am currently in limbo until i move into my new place which is way bigger than where I am now!! Soo I’m eyeing a R16 and sprint pedals as i wanna buy once and forget about it . I know if i get the r9, i will be eager to upgrade it again to get a more powerful wheelbase. Since deciding to move to a new place, moza has released 2-3 new wheels, 2 pedals and now another wheelbase. It’s crazy how much progression moza has achieve in the space of 6 months!

    • @grayzedynamics
      @grayzedynamics  Год назад +1

      I completely understand the life situation. As we evolve and grow, some things have to be put on hold. However like you, with those steps comes a better opportunity for future fun. I am eyeing the R21 myself for a future upgrade. Just be at that range and be done, I just want to see a comparison between the simucube and r21. The simucube is the gold standard right now and I want to see the main differences and how it stacks up.
      Hopefully by the time you upgrade I have a 5% off coupon to use on my affiliate link. I started out with Gran Turismo decades ago it seems but sold it all. Was on the PlayStation with F1 games and now I'm happy to be on PC.
      Hope to see you on track soon.

    Thanks for your feedback. I have a Thrustmaster T300 and itching to move up to direct drive but I’m iffy with most reviews I see comparing Moza and Fanatec. It feels sponsored and biased. Most lean towards Fanatec but my gut feeling tells me Moza. We have the same thinking like the GS wheel so I feel like I can relate to your style. I’m ALMOST deadset on Moza. 😉 Another month to decide.

    • @grayzedynamics
      @grayzedynamics  Год назад +1

      Nice. I think you will like it a ton. This was honestly a dilemma at first. CSL DD from a proven company to Moza R9. I was nervous, and the reviews I saw were positive but some were not. Then I got my hands on it and it was an easy decision. The Mclaren wheel although nice for the price, at $199 is decent but after a ton of upgrades. The Moza was a no brainer. I love my R9, but may upgrade to the VRS only becsuse of bang for buck at $799 for 20nm. However, I'd still recommend the R9 for anyone just jumping into DD. The R5 is nice but I feel you may always want that little more and the R9 is perfect for about 90% of drivers. Take your time, more is coming almost daily. Good thing about Moza tho is the gear that's coming and the FSR is freaking sweet.

      @@grayzedynamics the question is, who has the better after sales support? The reason why I went with Thrustmaster was because Fanatec wasn’t available at the time I wanted to buy one. It was out of stock for a long time and although I’m sure that doesn’t correlate with their support, it dampened my enthusiasm. I hope Moza’s aggressiveness to capture some of the sim racing market will push them to do better on all aspects. You said you hated the alcantara but I think they have a V2 with a different material now. I’m not sure about the girth though.

      Yeah Alcantara is not my fav. I do think Moza is decent at customer service. I haven't had any issues myself. I have heard that wait times can be annoying but they generally do a good job. I think they may be growing faster than they can possibiy staff. I had one issue and they got back to me a few days later so no real issues. Fanatec didn't do the best when I did reach out but not bad by any means.

      Glad I could be of help. I think the wheelbases are pretty much equivalent. Once you get to the QR system. Fanatec is way behind. 9nm to 8nm wont notice a huge difference. The big difference is in the wheels and all the gear that is coming to the scene. Moza has a full fledged eco-system from beginner R5 to full on R21. With pedals, wheels, handbrakes and more coming. Good time to be on the ground floor. Good luck and hope to see you on track.

    Fanatec still sell more the anyone else but if the change the QR1 is over that is the main complain in everyone, i feel like in some way the QR1 give space to brands like Moza to exist at this point XD, maybe a wheel with screen like GSI for example that is something people want for a long time too but besides all this i dunno, I have a DD1 and tbh I'm thinking in getting a Simucube or Simagic just to change airs but even that my DD1 is solid.

    • @grayzedynamics
      @grayzedynamics  Год назад +1

      Yeah. Fanatec had the ecosystem that makes it easy to play on both console and pc. They have the market share and recognition. However with PC sim racing growing, I would say that market share is shrinking quickly. So many new players coming and pricing stellar equipment.
      Simucube is the gold standard and that is my goal in the next 6-8 months to be honest. The QR1 and 2 still have the key issue of being able to be removed. They need to just innovate and move forward. Just like ps4 to ps5. Some will be on the old gen but that's how you innovate. The pro 2 is my final choice. I hear the Simagic is good too. I just haven't ever tried to be honest. There are so many sweet wheels with screens is crazy and for fanatec not to have an entry level one is a massive failure on their part.

That said, I will def be buying 5x QR2s when they release and I'll be unhappy about having to spend the money. Still Fanatec need to innovate. I feel like they are lagging behind on wheel innovation. The Bentley GT3 wheel was announced well over a year ago and havent seen a thing of late. I can't bring myself to spend the money on the BMW wheel when companies like GSI and others have similar priced wheels with much more functionality. My biggest frustration with both of these ecosystems is the deliberate incompatablity with other products.

    • @grayzedynamics
      @grayzedynamics  Год назад +2

      Yeah I didn't have any issues with the QR1 on Fanatec either. It works as advertised and did its job. It was firm and had some wiggle but not much. However, once you use the NRG style, it instantly sticks out. Fanatec have created an issue and instead of moving forward and innovating, I think they are fine with being the Apple of the sim scene. Moza I see as Google and coming in strong and fast. As for wheels got are right, I couldn't see buying A Bentley or BMW wheel with other high end wheels. The compatibility issues I see with consoles, the wheels aren't wired, but Moza did change that with the new FSR, so it can be used with other wheelbases. My ultimate goal is a simucube but if the R21 is 95% as good. I'll stick with Moza and just get the GSI wheel that I want.

      If you have had no problems with Fanatec's QR1s, why spend the money on the QR2s?

      Valid point. Although it may make wheels more compatible in the future. I have no clue.

    Moza is manufactured at the same factory as Fanatec.

      I’m sure majority of these DD wheelbases are made in the same factory. Lol

      Yeah. It’s the only thing that I don’t like about the GS wheel. It really needs Polyurethane grips.

    Moza r5-r12 reduce the FFB already after 20min due to their heat problems. I bought Moza and regret it.

      Oh no. I didn’t have a heat problem at all. Sorry to hear that. I ran my R9 at 100% all the time and had no issues other than clipping. Which is why I upgraded to the VRS DFP. Sorry mate that’s a true bummer.

      @@grayzedynamics I'm surprised. I now have the 2nd R9 exactly the same problem. A friend has the r12 and exactly the same.
      Who knows, maybe moza was better in the "old" days.^^
      in any case, I would not buy them again.

      Yeah I cannot tell. Maybe they did some update. I will say when I got my replacement R9 it was the new one and I could not dial in with the same settings. Sorry for the issue. Yeah it’s about time to change. I hear Simagic is cool. I have VRS and love it. Price per NM is great.
