    I have had the R9 for over a year now and it has been brilliant; base has solid force feedback and frequent driver updates. The quick release is light years ahead of Fanatec and so is the customer service.

    I think it’s more that Fanatec is slow in responding to the market. They used to be the only major player with a complete ecosystem at various layers. But now they are very slow in releasing new gear, or updating what they have. The CSL DD is was revolutionary when it came out, but has stagnated since then. They can’t seem to keep up. The market is flooded with new manufactures and new gear but Fanatec still has products they announced years ago that hasn’t been released.

    I see a lot of comments about Moza being cheaper than Fanatec and just baffles me cause I bought the Fanatec 8Nm over the Moza R9 BECAUSE IT WAS MUCH CHEAPER literally a month ago...
    The 8Nm bundle CSL DD along with an extra wheel (the 200$ McLaren GT3 replica which is crazy VFM) and a table clamp for 730$ plus shipping...
    If I wanted to buy the same stuff from Moza (R9 base, pedals, extra GT style wheel) I would be over 1000$ with shipping)... trust me... I checked both of them cause I wanted Moza R9 but I decided that spending another 300$ on literally 1Nm of extra torque would be something I would never be able to justify to myself...
    So please at least check the prices...

      The video was made before Fanatech Dropped their prices by 50%. This product launch caused Fanatec to panic and reveal the true cost of the items.

    • @sportschool3537
      @sportschool3537 Год назад +1

      @@NOOBIFIER1337 Ok that makes more sense... also, fanatec dropped the prices so much because they literally now make nothing out of the CSL DD but they make a lot out of the wheels and peripherals...
      But there is no damn way they're even making a single $ out of CSL DD at the ridiculous price point they have it in the bundle... 300$ for the 5Nm and 400$ for the 8Nm for a DD? Yeah sure... they're not making shit out of it... maybe 10% profit I guess... but still almost nothing...
      But they sell so many wheels, pedal sets, handbrakes (fanatec handbrake is soooo big and steady... dreamy handbrake) and shifters (also a FANTASTIC shifter that can be used as a handbrake too if you use it on the serial mode... cool trick) that they don't care that much...
      Finally from what I hear from reviews, Fanatec's DD is much smoother than Moza's which feels stronger but more forceful and from what I understand from top tier drivers, the smoother one is more realistic... so point fanatec I guess...

    Personally I think Moza is doing a much better job than Fanatec. They have a better QD/QR system for mounting the wheels and they have a better selection of wheel rims. Their formula style rim is far better than anything Fanatec offers. I don't normally care for these Chinese made things, but in this case it's some good stuff. I know several people with Moza setups and all of them love them.

      Still think Fanatec CSL DD 8Nm bundle is a much better value overall... yes, one less Nm... fine... but I bought the bundle plus the McLaren GT 3 replica wheel of Fanatec which is crazy VFM at only 200$ for a total of 730$ plus shipping... Moza along with the shipping would go over 1000 where I am while Fanatec ended up at 770$
      So overall I don't think 1Nm of torque is worth 250$... no way...
      You either go for the Asetek 12Nm or Moza 12Nm and spend around 1500$ overall or if you go for entry level it's Fanatec of nothing...
      Just my opinion... and about the whole Fanatec quick release whining, I use the plastic one on my CSL DD and It's just fine... yes, it takes 2 more seconds than the Moza one... what a nightmare... people complain about the most pointless things most of the time...

    i got myself the R9 base with the GS wheel and their entry level load cell pedals (brake and throttle only) two weeks ago and i am loving it.
    a year ago i had the CSL DD and to me it feels like Moza is doing basically the same thing but from my point of view in higher quality for a somewhat lower price, so thats great in my book.
    two days ago i tested the RS V2 wheel to see if i might keep it for sports or supercar racing in AC1, 2 or the new FM - but i returned it because i was not as satisfied with three things: 1) it was a bit too big for my liking, 2) the stitches started to hurt and irritate the inner side of my thumbs after 30-40min of driving and 3) the shifter paddles were not as satisfying as the GS wheel, and one of them was slightly less clicky which i could not get over with every time i used them.
    so the GS wheel is the way to go for me.
    if there is one thing i wish they would improve is getting rid of that illuminated bar and replace it with a row of single rpm lights instead of a big bar that fills up, its not as satisfying than having a number of small lights.

      It's not a lower price... Fanatec's 8Nm bundle today is quite cheaper than moza R9... I got it plus an extra GT3 wheel (the McLaren replica) for around 700$ in total... Moza R9 plus a second wheel is very close to the 1000$ mark

    • @AndrewTSq

      The Moza R9 + 2 Pedals setup + CS V2 Wheel for me is $1200... the Fanatec including shipping to my door is $440. It does not matter if the Moza would be three times as good, cause its 3 times more expensive. (while the Fanatec Podium with F1 wheel, and pedals is $1400)... so which is better the Moza R9 or the Podium?

    • @th3orist
      @th3orist Год назад

      @@AndrewTSq i dont need the Podium Power Plus the Motor in the Podium is not as good as in the csl dd or r9 detail wise, its getting a bit old. • @sportschool3537
      @sportschool3537 Год назад

      @@AndrewTSq Agreed... Moza is at least 30% more expensive overall... so comparing the two products 1 to 1 is completely unfair... not to mention that Fanatec's DD FFB is from what I've gathered from top tier drivers more smooth while Moza's is more forceful, which makes Fanatec more realistic in terms of a driving experience .
      Anyway, I have the CSL DD 8Nm bundle and a McLaren GT3 wheel for 700$ and it's ridiculous VFM... moza doesn't even come close to that price...

    The R9 is an ok wheel base but is prone to overheating and FFB fade, perhaps better suited to users not requiring the full amount of power (seems like they aren't designed for 100% usage) a CSL DD on the other hand has slightly more detailed FFB which Fanatec's wheel base can sustain at 100% for extended periods without getting warm. My CSL DD 8NM always feels cool to the touch, even after 5 + hours sustained use at 100% FFB at ambient temperatures of 30°C+. I don't think the quality of the FFB is as relevant as the heating issue at high power settings which are easily remedied by the use of a fan.
