      They pretty much disabled Oshur so not sure that you can get the play right now. :( But man was it fun.

    So, I get where your coming from about stuff being so slow, but you have to keep in mind that Toadman has only been the devs for what.... 4ish months now. Toadman is just figuring out the spaghetti code of this old game. We don't know if they where working longer with the old devs at rouge planet games or not. No one tells us. We have to assume that when Planetside 2 IP was sold, that was when they where brought on cause Rouge planet games wasn't doing anything with it.
    There whole development of Rouge planet games for 2023 can be summed up like this. Wrel left but said he had left a 6 month road man for the Rogue planet game Devs to continue. That came and went with the new implants. Then we had no communication from anyone about what was going on, what was happening. Other than Mithral saying that an update was coming, and what was the update. OUTFIT WARS. The thing that they said wasn't going to happen in 2023. Then the final thing we can say that rouge planet games did before being dissolved was reworking CTF. That's it, that's all they did.
    So the fact that your complaining about the lack of content by the new devs at Toadman is just mind blowing, and again I get that, but if there is anyone to blame it's Rouge planet games. They are the ones who did next to NOTHING for 2023. Toadman is now coming in to try and put out a dumpster fire of a dieing game. For that I say good luck, I'll continue to play until the final day of this wonderful game and if they manage to put out that fire great, if not then hey they tried I got my time out of this game and all the memories from it.

      Toadman has been listed on their own website as working on the game for over a year now. They were involved in the game well before the announcement was made that they are now the development team. They have had plenty of "ramp up" time. The announcement wasn't the moment they took over, that was over a year ago. I am not suggesting don't keep playing, but they used up all of their grace long before that announcement was made. Without Wrel it's been a catastrophic failure.

    I imagine a module that makes a sunderer more difficult to kill at the expense of the usage of all weaponry mounted to the sunderer while deployed. Mind you, this is an opinion from someone who hasn't played in years, but it would create a meaningful choice and avoid making the sunderer individually powerful. It would mean that the defense of the sunderer would have to be an active effort on behalf of the infantry which respawned on the sunderer. Another option would be support-based mounted turrets (med-ray, repair gun, etc), freeing up the aura slot for something else or for doubling up on being a support bus. Again, ideas from someone who hasn't played in forever.

      wouldnt that cause a lot more deaths that seem BS? Like when you get killed by a rifle AFTER you've made it to cover or vehicles that dont appear till your inside each other? Havent played in a very long time so i genuinely have no clue

    I've had the Base energy idea before. But as a simultaneous secondary win condition to the all points captured. You could win either by capturing all points or draining the base revive energy, it would remove a lot of stalemate fights that don't go anywhere.

    SImple - make sunderer spawn beacon take a slot again, instead of being passive. You will have to choose between having a weaker, respawn sunderer or a stronger one for vehicle gameplay.

    AMS should never have been combined with the sunderer, imo. A separate, weaponless AMS vehicle would be far easier to tune instead of trying to balance a vehicle that was intended to be an armored personnel carrier that is now also an ams. You'd be able to make the ams more durable and combine the stealth and deploy shield or whatever the fuck.

    It was a solid 20 year run with PS. Great times!
    I have since moved to Star Citizen. Once Pyro goes online with PVP or if Dune Awakenings doesn’t take the crown first. Either way Planetside has reached it’s final peak.
    Like the Titanic the glacier has struck with Wrel’s departure.

    I thought of two things for the deployed sandey. In the case of a dome, why not make the dome stop only part of the projectiles flying into it or instead simple reduce the damage from them. While the dome lasts, the sander will be able to defend himself more effectively, and those attacking him will have the opportunity to harass enemies in a certain way without having to go under the dome or demolish it completely. Attacking a loaf under a dome that can only be freely shot from the inside is too much. Another option is to give the deployed sander additional cover for infantry, like a hard light barrier, or umbrella, in the place of a gun mb.

    Sunderer should get a massive percentage damage reduction to all oncoming damage when deployed. If it's damage dealing capabilities are an issue, have a long windup on deploying where its guns are disabled, or keep the short deploy time but reduce the damage of its own guns by the same percentage while in its deployed state. I think that would solve it.

    Just my two cents on the Sunderer; if they want a way to increase its defenses, you're of the opinion it needs to sacrifice firepower, right? What if instead, it sacrificed mobility? Consider a concept along the lines of the Command and Conquer series' Mobile Construction Vehicles, where you have a vehicle that can go somewhere and deploy, gaining increased durability and allowing you to create more units, but losing the ability to return to its mobile state. I imagine it as "Heavy Deployment", where the Sunderer deploys into a stationary structure, losing the ability to un-deploy, gaining increased armor or health values, and becoming effectively a FOB. Since it would be unable to move again after deployment, becoming in effect a structure, this would encourage more tactical placement (if you can't move, you can't just pop up and dodge incoming fire, so it would have to seek a genuinely intelligent position to deploy in), and would lose the recent ability to quickly run up to vehicles, deploy, and shred them with its weapons.
    Sunderers already have a very small nanite cost to spawn, and a short cooldown before you can spawn one again, so in the grand scheme of things, this would affect the flow of nanites very little, while giving a defense-oriented Sunderer a particular niche. Perhaps it could visually deploy into a structure, with a little platform on top for infantry to stand on and have a bit of cover. Taking the slot of the Deploy Shield or Stealth Field would provide a new, solid tactical asset, particularly if it gained the sort of durability player-made base structures have, as a trade-off in exchange for offensive potential.

    big gripe since returning is how much time is needed to get higher levels and to aurax/get implants.
    my connery characters are useless since it's dead, so I've had to restart on emerald.
    double xp permanently would be great, but means they arent making money from the few people who still spend a lot of money.
    seems they've made up their minds.
    server merging between regions is a good idea, but having more latency issues sounds awful. I really don't enjoy getting 3 hit in .2 seconds, when for a high latency player it registered as 1.2 seconds.
    would also help to not completely snub late night players. let us have a central 3-4 regions to fight over with all three factions able to join in. also wouldn't be bad to have mini late night alerts. this is a problem that could've been fixed a decade ago.
    really enjoyed this game over the years, but it's clear there's too many problems to keep up with.

    I think more alerts during quiet times, will help maintain populations a lot. Or make certain slot items incompatible with others

    So here's a thought I had about the sunderer area shield and how it could be redesigned.
    Instead of a bubble shield, with 360 degree protection, make it a flat wall shield as a "turret" can be used only after deployed. Once on, you cannot move the shield emitter, as it slowly projects out a shield wall out to x distance. To prevent what you were talking about with trolling or op behavior with it, enemy fire on the shield can push the shield back to the sunderer. Push it back far enough and the system shuts down temporarily.

    I personally enjoyed the VP system. I enjoyed a lot of things that brought variety to the game including HIVES. I'm in the minority I guess as people kept complaining until the game went back to just simply standing on capture points. Only way I can see them accounting for low pop with the new facilities would be to put them on one of the parts of the map that are powered down during low pop times to just restrict gameplay at them entirely. Spawn tickets makes it sound more like rush to me which makes sense why it can't be a back and forth, otherwise it would mostly just play like the bases we have now already.

    A good way to balance the sundy could be to have it lock in place once deployed. Then after a short timer where you could back out of the deploy, the durability kicks in, just in case you hit the button on accident. Then it's a one time use and might cut down some on cheese.

    I just hope to hell these updates are a positive thing for the game, because if not can you imagine how long it would take them to fix things or roll it back? If they ever do. If it takes them months to even announce they're working on the game and they just leave broken ass updates live for an entire weekend that doesn't bode well. I just switched the game off that weekend. Couldn't hardly move for all the sundies.
    I don't pretend to have the level of knowledge that you do regarding battle flow and alerts that were out of the game before I started playing. Anything I say on that would be pure guesswork and I think the planetside community are good enough at that already without my help. My impression of their plans is less than positive though. We'll see.
    Totally agree that their letters sound like AI wrote them. I have a hard time reading them completely cause it sounds like politicians talking to me. I even spaced out when you were reading it. Talkin loud but saying nothing. And doing less.
    I still love this game though. That ain't changing :D

    i dont think the delays have been that unreasonable. theyre clearly in the process of wrangling the codebase. we dunno if rpg devs briefed them all that much.

      RPG was broken up and moved on by EG7 shortly after Wrel left. That's on EG7s shoulders and Toadmen is EG7, so the blame rests squarely on them.

    15-30 second cooldown for deployment. Also, make it so it takes 30-60 seconds to deploy. No cooldown for undeploying.

    I think the VP system was superior, the problem is they didn't cap the # of VPs that could be generated by HIVEs for one thing.

    Always Love your stuff and usually agree with you opinions but, have to disagree with you and "reddit" On the Sundy becoming to powerful with buffed defense,
    1 the Sundy bug was some of the best PS2 times I've ever had, wish they would happen one weekend a month. lol
    2 I think a lot of us miss the armor pushes made obsolete by the Valkyrie (which did make squad play much more fun a trade off) But having OP Sundies will make armor pushes a more powerful strategy again while persevering squad tactics and give you TR something to shoot at besides infantry when your camped up on a hill 1km in your OP tanks and OP spamy ass Banshee ESFs Really might make armor more fun and No amount of defense is going to be able to compete with the zero drop off of armor. Except sometimes on Hossin sure.

    when I fly a mosey I don't even equip a secondary the booster tanks and Banshee lets me dominate everything without dying XD its ridiculous the Banshee is the single worst thing in the game. and the prowler has 2X the anti air and is much more effective against infantry than of any other tanks why? Also you get 2X-4X the shots to practice with. I believe this has skewed armor loving TR opinion a bit.

    Could just take away the sunderers spawn option and its focus shifts more to battle/repair/ammo making it a tad more duarable on the move and making minor adjustments to weapons to suit. If you want it to be a spawn point that can defend itself well and take a hit make it so it has to be deployed for a certain ammount of time before point defense and or things like the other deployed related perks and or buff to the sunderer. Thats my 2 cents with a whole minute of thought. Honestly though im not sure!

    They should balance the revive grenade I'm a medic main and haviing 4 of them is pretty OP since they have a big AOE. They're radius should be massively nerfed so that it can be harder to accurately bounce them to a body.

    How about you allow the sunderer to have 50% less DPS when deployed so that you can at least defend against LAs and discourage the offensive use of the sundie. Disabling the guns is a bit much in my opinion. Or how about the guns on the sundie (when deployed) are no longer accessible for the players but become AI-self shooting just like the Spitfire turrets with modified DPS for balance of course. Great video.

    So what if you can cheese with the sundy update. The update fixes the sundy killing and farming problem. Which would benefit the infantry which is more important then the vehicle mains and air mains that farm the shit out of them. But yeah lets protoct those playstyles at the expense of infantry.

      Honestly, I agree. But people were so up[ in arms about CAI, I think if you don't balance it well to vehicles they will be upset.

    The game is obviously on life support. Why change core mechanics that have been a thing for 12 years? Forget it. The masses don't care. Who really cares about Sundys? Clearly they don't have the manpower or money to make real changes. What do you do with people on life support? Make things as good as possible before they pass on.
    I suggest doubling, tripling, quadrupling XP gain. Crank it up. Give players the opportunity to grind out the things they've always wanted but didn't have time to grind for. Give them the chance to max out all their characters.
    Merge servers obviously.
    Work on interesting alerts/missions.
    Close off parts of the map in a more effective way when population is low.

      And a lot of people play for the gameplay and not the rewards

      I think I like this approach best. The only mini-alert idea i had to drive folks out of the same middle base fight, is to make a bounty base, and whoever holds it at the end gets bonus xp. Move it around so we can see different bases, give time for faction to get there, and more certs for the grind.
      I would like to see sundies tweaked, and personally i like the idea of disabling weapons, more cover for spawns, and more durable. Part of my sadness with routers these days is that if I am defending the router, I am not defending the base, if I am defending the base I am not defending the router, and often both feel like more of a chore than fun.
      That said, this is still my favorite fps, and it is still fun when there are fights to be had.

    I wish i could play again. I started getting high ping when in fights. Idk what caused it but it was unplayable as i would get booted for high ping OR just lagged so bad i couldn't do anything.

    I liked the idea of new assault facility. It is similar to breakthrough mode on battlefield games and i prefer it over conquest or frontlines

      Rush was always my favorite until they got rid of it. But I haven't played a battlefield game since 4.

      @@mandu9520 rush was nearly as same as breakthrough. We can have rush in planetside its so simple, we have the codes for it, just do couple of shield generators and line them up just like rush, you need to overload first generator if it blowsup its shield will be down and now you can push to the second generator etc. I also love frontlines

    at 19:00 why would they buff defending even more, a stalemate should go to the attacker not the defender which have every advantage already if they cant break out they should lose

    Why not keep everything the sunderer currently has as is, and give them the new defense items. Completely leave out the cargo mechanic and keep proxy repair, ammo, and radar the same. Then give the cargo upgrades to the ANT, which is currently one of the most useless vehicles in combat since the removal of cloak. The cargo stations fit perfectly with construction anyways.

      try killing armor columns without armor because 90% of the time your team wont have armor to defend because majority of armor sweats have to deal with remaining armor sweats left the game.

    As you were reading through that letter, I was sitting here and thinking "Man, it sounds like they didn't research the games history much." AKA things that were already done and deemed disruptive or imbalanced. I can only hope something good comes from this, mainly population growth. Guess we will find out.

      removal of power knives 1 hit kill has made res nades cancer and brought about shtty medic spam in a room gameplay that isnt fun for defenders.

      I tested it on live. I did go to the test server to check it out, but its in a broken incomplete state, and the community has listed everything that is broken there. So yeah the feedback has been given about how broken it is.

      I played on PS4 yesterday is was cool, it was very different than on PC. The graphics were very nice and the night looked darker

      A lot of updates were just tweaks to construction which as stated in the past the ps4 hardware was too weak to handle. Not really any updates to give to ps4 because of that issue.
