It locks back on the follower, and the original one looks kind of bent up. Maybe you can just bend it back. It is already not working, so if you eff it up, idk how much that matters. Same thing happens if you have bullets that you 1911 doesn't like it will lock back instead of cycling.
Nice one, i never really like 1911s until i got to play with one today. WW2 Colt with Birmingham proof marks (UK Lendlease). They are certainly growing on me
Damn it. My father brought the 1911A1 home after WWII (Australian Navy a gift from US Navy). As new condition. Confiscated (because it was unregistered) by police it hurts every time I see the A1. Destined to be melted down I said don';t this is in prime condition but ... either way ...
That it most certainly does! Got a brand new something interesting that the fam got me for my upcoming 30th birthday too, gotta go through the lengthy process of properly breaking in the barrel. Gonna be getting into long range shooting with my brother and they went hog wild, got me a Bergara B14 HMR!
The only thing wrong with the 1911 is my disability doesn't agree with grip safeties and our ridiculous calibre restrictions limit who can have one. I hope you had a happy birthday.
The M1911 is over 100 years old, but its beauty is timeless.
Excellent Thomas Congratulations Bro and Happy Birthday to you 😅😉👍🫡💯❤️
Thank you kindly!
She’s beautiful 😍

Try some good aftermarket mags
Nice piece of history man you got there :) maybe the spring in the magazine needs to be changed out to a new one.

Man I bet that thing’s worth a pretty penny!
@@GreatNorthwestWeaponry sadly everything larger than .38 calibre is a prohibited pistol down here. So I know where it's going to end up

A loving family present to celebrate your 30 th . Happy upcoming Birthday !
Something you can enjoy and keep for a lifetime.
Thank you kindly!
Here's the tip: bend the lower follower lip to the side so it can engage the slide release properly, problem fixed
That could do it, but it works properly with the new one so I’ll just use the replacement when firing and not risk doing any damage to the original 👍🏻
I have never thought to ask why the magazines were produced two tone.Anyone know why they were produced that way?
I don’t actually know why personally, but definitely worth looking into!
