Moffat will always remember his anz Sierra was robbed of victory after cooling down behind the safety car with Greg Hansford at the wheel. And whilst retaining the lead the engine blew!
One of the rare occasions an eggenberger sierra failed. While the djr cars always went for horse power, appart from 89, the djr cars were average while rudi's cars were much better in endurance spec
With the introduction of Gen 3 in 2023, next year will be their best chance of a 2:02 at least. As for "touring cars", I think we're still a long way off getting a "touring car" in the 2 minute mark let alone breaking it. Our thoughts at least.
@@TouringCarsofAus Yup, Supercars should drop a couple of seconds in 2023 with the dowforce and power reductions. The last sector shouldn't be a lot different but up the moutain and across the top will be a lot more difficult.
@@toddc6682 Yes it would make a difference, that's why they did it. It's not like they didn't know the rules. They weren't robbed at all, they were caught.
A masterclass of controlled aggression. Balls to the wall 💥

The ANZ car may have won if it wasn’t for a loose wheel nut near the end of the race as he was gaining time on the Shell car which had an ailing turbo
Hes on the edge in that beast 😳
That car i wouls see in a drive way at doncaster east Victoria as a kid
How many years before we break the 2 mins mark!

funny to think modern production cars on treaded tyres in the 6h are faster.
Dusty as up the top!
Eggenburger... Cheaty McCheats a lot.
How did he cheat?
The car even has the factory airbox!
All good for Holden to have F1 brakes, dry sump & 8000rpm in 1990 though.
Robbed of the 1-2 for having illegal 2mm wheel arches in 1987, faaarrrrk ask yourself would it make a difference? The fuel story was bogus.
