The council couldn’t wait to get them out of there, they seemed highly agitated by having their sins lifted up in front of them and the world to see. Even to trying to pin them into a corner which the pastor didn’t allow. Bravo!

I have been pregnant with and delivered a baby, at 32 weeks gestation, who had a very rare disorder. We knew by 20 weeks that without a miracle she would not survive. We are so thankful we chose to allow God to determine whether she lived or went home to be with him. The 1 hour we had to hold her was a huge blessing to us. It allowed us to have closure. We were able to have a proper burial and many lives were touched by her short life.

Well, there's no so much time left for this world.
If it wasn’t for God ministering to me through Pastor Jeff and Apologia I would not be having my first baby boy in August. The circumstances of my pregnancy are not ideal, but I know our sovereign God had a plan for Elias before I ever even knew he was in my belly. He was God’s before he was ever mine, so who am I to make another life pay for my sin. I’m so blessed to know that God saw me fit to bring forth life and to help further His kingdom. Keep up the good work Pastor Jeff/ Apologia, I love your heart for people and fire for contending for the faith!

This was great. Well spoken, well reasoned, and loved how he continually called out sin and referenced the Bible as the basis for morality. Love it!

A book where the lead committed genocide and instructed people to do it twice? A book that populated the Earth twice via incest? As a born again believer, keeping my cool during emotionally charged situations is something I'm learning to do. Great job pastor, you represented the faith well and defended life. The truth spoke for itself. Praise the Lord, the author of life.
Thank you for that comment. It spoke to me very well. I agree and can empathize. I have a long way to go, but I'm learning to pray for the lost and my enemies and to not get riled up at the atrocities they commit.

You will be truly born again when you realize other people have had to keep their cool with you as well. The reason born agains are so often disliked is not their message, it's the way they convey it. First off, these guys didn't even bring one single woman with them. Second, they evangelized improperly -- if you actually read the gospel, Jesus would always start by presenting questions to people, by getting a dialogue going, not by just beating people over the head, proclaiming "I am the Way." I respect these men's sincerity and certainly applaud their devotion to people with disabilities. But they're getting pushback from the female representative because many women are fed up with the millions of men being indifferent to their plight and situations and, on a more banal note, they're violating their time allotment. I've moderated meetings like this and people love to ramble on and on at them, instead of gettng to to the point. It's not that hard to sum up your position. And getting out of Christ's way by being wise in how you present yourself as well as bearing witness is half the battle.

I don’t think he is acting from a pastoral position, I believe he is acting from a position of a pro life advocate, but anyone can do what he does, and many non titled believers should do what he does, it shouldn’t take pastoral staff to stand up for life in the womb, anyone with the conviction should do something similar to what he is doing.
Besides This is not specifically a pastors job. Although I do tip My hat to him, job well done.
What a great representation of what he stands for, but don’t confuse the work of a pastor with him standing before men about this abortion issue, a pastor is to be a care taker of the word of God and teaching that to his church, if he is a pro life advocate that is his side ministry and applause to him for it, but let’s not confuse his office of pastor as if all pastors should do what he is doing in this type of setting.

A fantastic job by Jeff. It’s difficult to have these “arguments” in this forum. This is the reasons long form podcasts have gotten so much attention because it’s a more true way to have a conversation. Often times with arguments like this or biblical arguments people don’t actually want to know the answer they just want to make it look like you don’t know. Prime example is when someone insults the Bible by bringing up slavery in the Bible. Anyone who has read or even listened to a 10 minute RUclips video knows that God is good and what’s promoted is not what people think when they think slavery. They don’t actually care or they would look into the answer for themselves.

I completely agree. In situations and discussions such as these in terms of legislation and bringing forth these issues, the representatives seemed to not want to hear the biblical argument but rather the reality of what they perceive to be true. Almost as if they would be rolling their eyes in their head and saying to Jeff "Alright we get it you're a pastor, but don't mention God or why abortion is wrong fron a biblical perspective let's get real here" But their secular arguments that justify abortion fall apart when you confront their inconsistencies and subjective views. They fail to realize the seriousness of God's truth and might end up paying for it come judgement unless they repent and put their faith in Jesus.
I find the ones question particularly irksome, that a female somehow has a greater understanding of the value of life because she’s female. Of course, they ONLY exalt the opinion of females IF it obeys the narrative. I’ve carried two children. Yes, I understand the value of life. Never was I under any delusion that they weren’t fully human and fully alive. I can testify that no matter what was “wrong” with my children, I would have done what God wanted me to do, carry them, care for them and if needs be, remit them into His care and bury them. The answer to his question about the baby missing organs is simple. You give it the same chance at life as the rest of us. If it is born and shortly dies despite humanity’s best efforts, that is Gods will, not ours, and a cause to mourn temporally, but rejoice in Gods Kingdom as this soul is now in His care. Funny, they don’t ever want to hear from females like me, only those looking for excuses to avoid being “inconvenienced” by an imperfect child.
It was tough listening and engaging the committee's questions without being able to provide thorough support for our position. Unfortunately, this hearing, like most others of its type, is not designed to hash out the concerns then and there. I'm honestly surprised 4 out of 7 of those representatives supported the bill. This is why it is so crucial to put folks on the ballot that will faithfully represent Christian ethics and vote accordingly when legislation like this is brought forward.

This is excellent. I like how Durbin calmly but persistently comes back with the truth that "abortion" is really just a euphemism for "kill the child." He uses the real term to boldly tell what it really is. I also appreciate that he shares the gospel to which sinners should respond and which is available to them if they repent from sin. They will find grace in Christ if they do, and I am glad that Durbin shares that message boldly and humbly.

Jeff Durbin is one of the few pastors that I can truly say does actual kingdom work. We need pastors like this! Willing to speak truth, with such intelligence. Not cowering pastors that hide behind only showing “love”. Also, the arrogance coming from these representatives is astounding. Blows my mind when they use the argument of “what if it kills the mother, or rape, or incest”. Less than 2%, less than 2%! You wouldn’t argue any other subject with those terrible odds. Only abortions and it just proves the arrogance and wickedness of the people that do.
So true. There are way too many cowering pastors that hide behind an unbiblical concept of love. True love stands for the truth, which is what Apologia did here. "And having done all, to stand" (Eph. 6:13).
I would suggest you go to a different church then. It took me about 4 churches over 2 years to find a pastor like Durbin in Minnesota. (Not saying your church is bad but to say only few is alarming)

I carried my 5th child to full term even though he had no kidneys. We were counseled to abort and of course we refused. After his birth we had 2½ hours with him as he slowly and gently passed.
We praise God for those 2½ hours and cherish the memories with him. God is good.

It never fails to anger me how these “elected” politicians speak to non government people. You would think that these officials, knowing that they are elected and employed by the people they represent, would afford the same courtesy and tact that they demand from us civilians.
Agreed just the tone of voice and condescending manner was almost enough to make me turn it off. I to am learning to keep my cool regarding unnerving situations.
