Hi Robert, we live down the Jersey shore and really enjoyed your video! The Lobster 🦞house is the best! And the reason the Wildwood sign says "Wildwoods" is because there are 3 sections to Wildwood. North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest. Thanks for showing NJ for the beautiful state it is!
I feel bad that you missed out on the beauty and bounty of Long Island. Driving through like that, especially along the rural north fork off season then onto the highway, doesn’t afford any of the quaint, lovely, fun, and delicious attractions here. It’s nice to have a resident show you around in places like LI, so you can enjoy it.
My second watch. Great tour. I’ve been from Cape May to Jersey city visiting all the lighthouses on the way up. Loved the Sandy Hook one. The twin sisters of Navesink lighthouses were cool. Museum inside. Up on a hill. In Monmouth. Your videos never get old ❤
After I watch one of your videos, as I'm working on my computer I'll just play your videos in the background and enjoy the smooth, relaxing music. Great videos; thanks for all the time you're putting into them to make them high quality.
I also live on Long Island, the place that you went to visit in Orient point, I actually go there daily. Unfortunately, you missed a lot of great things on Long Island. There are so many beautiful parks and other great things that you missed. Hopefully next time you come down do you visit those beautiful sites. Long Island has a lot to offer.
Hi Robert. They call it The Wildwoods because there are 3...North Wildwood (where the boardwalk is), Wildwood Crest, and Wildwood. We were at the Lobster House the day before Valentine's Day after we left the campground to check on the NoBo. Its our go to restaurant when we go to Cape May. Sunset Beach is named so because of its gorgeous sunsets and usually gets pretty busy in the summer before dusk. I posted videos of Wildwood and Cape May in winter. Hope you enjoyed your stay at the Jersey Shore.
Hey Robert, happy Sunday! No fair teasing about the Mohegan Sun incident! Now I'm always going to wonder what went down at the casino :-) As you sailed past Groton/New London I'm reminded of when I went to see the USS Nautilus--but the base was closed to visitors that day. Bummer! Your journey through Brooklyn--glad I'll never have to make that drive. I enjoyed your trip to the Northeast, especially as the tour wore down...I like visiting places in the off season without all the crowds. Really looking forward to seeing the wide open spaces in your own personal voyage of discovery in the footsteps of Lewis & Clark. Happy trails!
Oh Robert you drove right by my house in Brooklyn, my borough actually showed up nice on camera. Glad you enjoyed the experience yeah the traffic is totally headache our last mayor made it even worse but it was a city to itself upon a time. Wildwood is my getaway every memorial. Safe travels.
Robert this was a tremendous video. We sit here in Northern New Brunswick today with the temp at -7C (about 20F) and looking out at 3 feet of snow still in the backyard. But getting our trailer out soon and hitting the trail. Gas may be expensive right now, but life is short, so the plan is to ignore that and roll. Thankfully borders are now open, so we can enjoy your beautiful country as well as ours. This area you have covered in today's video is definitely in the plans in the coming months. thank you so much for keeping us informed on your travels
Just when I think you can't outdo yourself...loved the LI/Brooklyn drives. Glad you got one good LI meal, have to try one of the many great diners next time. If I win the lottery, I want to summer in Wildwood staying week to week in those fabulous motels and travel in my RV the rest of the time.
If you can, definitely come back to Long Island and spend a few days. There’s so much to see, the south shore beaches, the Gold Coast and military history as well.
Robert , the next time you attempt to travel across Long Island you can Boondock in our driveway. I live on the South Shore of Long Island with a driveway that you could park your trailer with water hookup and 30 amp service. I live 20 minutes from South Shore Beaches and 5 mins from a Ferry in Bellport NY. The hardest park of living on Long Island is leaving and coming back because you have to get over the bridges in and out of NY city.
It is sad that while covering much of Long Island he saw so little of it. Greenport would have been a nice town to visit and he could also have camped down at Smith's Point and enjoyed the ocean.
We used to spend every summer at our Grandparents in Springs. My uncle over in Amagansett & another out in Montauk. Such good memories. Trouble was the traffic these days. Guess it’s true, you can’t go home again
So nice to see as we did the same itinerary and as part of our 2021 roadtrip. Long Island definitely deserves a longer visit. We especially like the North Fork. Just surprised you didn’t stop by Asbury Park in NJ, the home of Jersey Shore musicians like Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi and Southside Johnny!
Robert, great episode. Enjoyed watching every moment of it and saw parts of the New York metro area that I had never seen before even though I’ve lived here my entire life. Thanks again. Keep up the great work.
Robert, being from Texas I’ve haven’t been to NJ. Haven’t heard anything good about it. You’ve changed my mind completely. It’s nice. Beautiful in fact. My wife swooned at the clam chowder, lobster roll and the follow up ice cream . You given us something to think about with this road-trip. And as always, you produce a really good show 👍🏻. Thank you
This was Great. I have watched Robert travel all over the country and now he was in my neck of the woods. I live about 30 minutes away from Southold NY but spent most of my life In Bay Ridge Brooklyn where he got on the Verrazzano bridge.
I can’t wait to see your next video! We love Assateague 🐴!!! We make it a point to go tent camping there at least once a year. We had an amazing experience there last year, where the kids literally woke up to horses outside of our tent ⛺️ right before we made breakfast 🍳!
Nj residents here- Cape May is consistently voted the best town in NJ but it is very special around the holidays when all the Victorian houses are decorated & you can go on walking tours and mansion tours, see the tree at congress hall. Check it out if you find yourself in the area later in the season 👍
oh my!! You drove right by the school I work at in New London. It really is a charming area. Someday I'm going to take the ferry over too. Mohegan allows overnight RV parking, but my favorite casino stop is Foxwoods a bit further north. They've got a terrific Native American museum there with a cafe that serves some tribal inspired dishes. Loved seeing my home state in your video. Hopefully you'll come back and have some fun soon. Safe travels!
Nice to see you take the time to see my hometown, Oceanside; we actually have another great brewery (Barrier Brewing) right near the place you visited. You must have passed it going there.
Coming off Long Island into Brooklyn , you could have taken the Van Wyke Expressway north to the BQE , Brooklyn Queens Expressway west, to the Verrizano Bridge. It takes commercial traffic , no height issues at all. No lights or side streets. Way faster than your local route. Just sayin...
Glad you took this route with ferry’s. My plan and nice to preview. Yes, all along coastal Northeast it becomes ghost towns after Labor Day. Not like Florida😊
Hola Robert. Thanks for featuring my beautiful Jersey in your video. If you ever do another crossing on the New London ferry, try to ride on the boat that was used during the Normandy invasion
Welcome to the Jersey shore 👍🏻 We have some really nice coastal areas. The best on the east coast outside of Florida in my opinion. During the summer these places transform from ghost towns to insane amounts of visiters. Despite bad reputation. The shore has a lot of nice places 👍🏻
Im an Ocean City New Jersey local. They call it "Wildwoods" because its made up of 3 sections: North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest". Love your videos.
Robert, after watching many of your videos on Florida, it was wonderful hearing your perspective of my area on Long Island. Yes, there are easier ways to get to the Verrazano. Love your comments going through Brooklyn.
This brings back lots of memories. I've visited relatives at, day-tripped to, and vacationed in a lot of the places that show up here. If you ever are back up this way, be sure to take the ferry out to Block Island, or check out the submarine museum. Thanks for another great video!
Great vlog, made me very homesick. I used to have an ice cream shop on the Wildwood Boardwalk. The sign says Wildwoods because there's North Wildwood, Wildwood & Wildwood Crest.
The Long Island Expressway would have been the fastest route to travel, but not the best way to see all the different towns. South shore near the great south bay/ and ocean parkway with the south shore ocean beaches are great routes to see the coast. Also so many beautiful areas on the North Shore to explore further west in Suffolk county and in Nassau.

Sadly we watched this video a little too late, when you were on Long Island and we’re passing through Oceanside you came within blocks of my house. It would have been so good to have a beer with you at the South Shore Brewery. My wife and I have been watching your videos for a couple of years maybe the next time you come to Long Island we could get together.
Glad to see you visited my state of NJ and home county of Monmouth County. I’m now in a different part of NJ but glad you gave the shore a try. Of course it is best to visit in summer to see the full experience.
We used to say in Seaside Park New Jersey exit 82A-B off the Garden State Parkway on route 37 down towards the bridge and it was an amazing place to be in the summer
Great video! If you ever get back up to Massachusetts , consider touring the coast especially around the Cape Ann area. Gloucester , a historic fishing village and also Rockport. Many classic New England towns along there. And don't forget Cape Cod. A bit touristy in the summer, but the fall or early spring (even winter) are a great time to visit. A lot of hidden gems and beautiful beaches. Cape Cod National Seashore is a must also. Beautiful lighthouses and seacoast.
This is my favorite video that you’ve ever made I live in Connecticut but I go to all the places that you’re visiting including the Jersey shore which is coming up in this episode
Great video Robert! A lot of these places we have been to. We also learned casino food, Mohegan sun, isn't that good. All over priced too. You've driven down roads that I wouldn't think of with an rv. You did very good. We both enjoyed your video, thank you.

So disappointed you didn’t stop in Brooklyn for some Italian food and pastries. Also should have made a quick stop at Fort Wadsworth. It was visible on your right entering Staten Island. You’re still the best Robert!
Robert - We live in Lewes DE & you could have stayed in our driveway and explored Lewes & Rehoboth Beach but I guess in the next video you’ll just be passing through on your way S to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Hope to someday meet up somewhere. Safe travels.
Thanks for the ride, Robert! If you like clam chowder, don't miss the opportunity, if you are able, to get some from Legal Seafood (Boston based and in many airport terminals)! I'ts the very best one that I have tried!
Robert, I love this episode! I live in Philadelphia suburbs, and have visited most of the places you did on this trip. When you were on the island with the jersey shore show cast house, you missed a great spot - Island Beach State Park. It takes up the southern end of that island, starting just a few miles south of the house. It goes for about 12 miles, with plenty of beautiful spots, both beach front and bay front. There is a fair amount of fishing and boating and you can drive on the beach for nearly the whole drive. It is a good trip any time of the year. I have been on one of the southern beaches in Sept and not seen another person for miles. Also very beautiful intact dunes and vegetation exist through out the island.
@@TravelingRobert There is a good restaurant with beach views right at the entrance, Chef Mikes ABG. And a nice bar, with a great selection of ipas, across the street.
Great video. I wish i new you were in Oceanside. I live one town over in Long Beach. I would have loved to show you the town of LB and our beaches..LI is a nightmare to navigate as far as traffic.
Wow watched your video last night!! OOMMGG you were literally in our town, well not the industrial area you were in but a nicer area in Oceanside. Long Island is definitely not RV friendly!! We have a class A and it’s rough!! Anyway you did GREAT navigating kudos to you!! Wishing you all the best and God Bless 😀🤙🌸❤️
That $3.53 per gallon you complained about is starting to sound pretty good now!
Tell me about it! Just filled my Acura $69!
$5.45 gallon in California

It takes up the southern end of that island, starting just a few miles south of the house. It goes for about 12 miles, with plenty of beautiful spots, both beach front and bay front. There is a fair amount of fishing and boating and you can drive on the beach for nearly the whole drive. It is a good trip any time of the year. I have been on one of the southern beaches in Sept and not seen another person for miles. Also very beautiful intact dunes and vegetation exist through out the island.
I'll make sure I go this year
@@TravelingRobert There is a good restaurant with beach views right at the entrance, Chef Mikes ABG.
Next time around hit the beach plum in Hampton NH very good lobster rolls and best clam chowder I've had in the US so far! Great video by the way!
