Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition Gameplay
“And the number of the Riders…shall ever be…FOUR.” A badass line to end a badass game. Darksiders 2 is my personal favorite, the high mark of the series for me.
I love how Death's journey was less about character developement and more about peeling back the layers
Ultimately, the story was about Death not allowing his own guilt to force him into another bad decision
Also, yeah, Samael is easily the hardest boss in the game. Mainly cause of that final rush towards the end where its easy to get overwhelmed with sheer damage
To point he makes Absalom a little disappointing
PS:
Don't forget to play Darksiders Genesis if you get the chance. Its a spinoff, sure, but not only is it great gameplay-wise, it adds an incredible amount of context to the story
I just want to see him and May suffer at the pillar platforming challenge in the hub area of Genesis, that would be some quality content xD

The physics just aren't fine tuned enough for precise platforming, beating it is a mix of trial , error and a lot of luck
Peeling back the layers IS growth.
Realistic growth. True growth.
People don't generally "grow" by having epiphany moments, but rather by facing their inner conflicts and learning to accept that which is a part of them.
Some more Lore: At the after credits, that deep voice is said to be Lucifer, the supposed Mastermind behind all this chaos to rupture the Balance. As Samael respects the balance to a degree, he was imprisoned by Lucifer's forces hence why he isn't in the present time in Darksiders 2 but in the past time instead, and why he was imprisoned in Darksiders 1
That's awesome, I actually never noticed this. I'm almost done with Darksiders 3 right now, and I just CAN'T WAIT to see Mythymoo play it.
Death saying "MY MOTHER?!?!" has me wheezing every time I just can't help it
Also, Phasewalker is just such a badass name for an ability
It's an homage. Borderlands has a female character named Lilith and her ability is called "phasing" or "phasewalking". Something like that :)

Fun series, but a shame you skipped a few tings:
-No abyssal armor hunting
-No crucible combat
-No bonus bosses
Hope you do these tings in darksiders 3?
and also possessed weapons! Though those are only in this game.

I really like how Samael is having the time of his life while Death is struggling during their fight. It just shows how much of a beast he is. Granted, most of Death's power has been locked away within the seventh seal. The boss fight itself is my favorite in the entire series, and the music that plays really encapsulates the dread of facing such a powerful being.
But the funniest part was when after the samael boss fight, crowfather tells death that corruption was truly a test capable of ending death himself. Samael and all bosses were a test in exertion for death, but it seems none were major danger for death.
I mean for all the times when he ragdolled death, in the end sammy ended up cut and panting.
And let’s not forget that death didn’t even have harvester

It was only slight scratch any other enemies death has face would be annulated but all that effort death put into the that fight only leaving a small scratch plus he was being toyed with whole fight
Oh and even the developers said that samael is the only one death didn't truly beat or take down plus being able to block a attack with just one finger
I can’t wait for you to try the third one. Might not be the best in terms of story or world building. Darksiders 2 definitely holds that spot for me, but in terms of combat I think it’s the best. Especially if you play on max difficulty. Happy New Years btw 🎉
It's a very different game entirely. The combat is much more methodical and slow than the others which are designed around hack and slash and spamming buttons. It's a little bit like the difference between god of war 3 and god of war 2018. I quite like the world building in 3 but tbh it's hard to beat the masterpiece that is Darksiders 2, trying to top it is near impossible, everything about it is amazing I'd probably say other than the balance of it. Darksiders 1 is very god of war, Darksiders 2 is very diablo, and Darksiders 3 is very dark souls.
To be honest, the combat was one of the things I disliked most about Darksiders 3.
Being used to the hack-and-slash kind of combat of the first two games, I just never really got the rhythm of the third. Single enemies like big bosses were almost too easy, but three or more small mobs were often a challenge.
Though I truly hope that Myth aquits himself better than I did, I'd love to watch him play the entire game.

Something about how the Crowfather delivers the final line to the cutscene always gives me goosebumps. This has been one of the best games I've ever played. I've never played the third one (Resource cap) but I want to experience it through you so give us more! As always, we love you Myth!

...and the number of riders shall ever be... FOUR! It always gets me, that and the fact that in all the games, you fight as a de-powered version of one of the riders... so you can imagine just how ridiculously OP they become when the seals are all broken... It almost excuses the Charred Council's ploys with keeping them bound and ignorant... almost!
Yo Mythymoo. The Sidecontent and DLC's of the game are awesome. So, should you decide to do it, even after finishing the main game, you will not be disappointed!
There is also a really hard Bossfight in the Kingdom of the dead. (Argul, the hardest boss in the game (except for some crucible stuff) , in my opinion, but I might just be bad.)

I absolutely love the conversation between Lilith and death. It shows his pain and anger over What he had to do while also showing how guilty he feels.

Fun fact, the voice that was talking to abbadon in darksiders 1 was lilith. Wait for the end credit to roll for a secret endimg for darksiders 2 too
Fun fact and lore: death is actually the strongest member of the 4 horsemen he’s literally the leader if anyone can fight Samuel it’s him, death was also the one who cut wars hand off reason why he has a gauntlet on his hand 🤚 last it’s pretty debatable if war is stronger or stronger than death after killing the destroyer it’s really hard to say but I see them as equals
That depends wether or not war keeps the sword or gets back to his own chaos eater i think... but otherwise i would say death just seems stronger. But they are all beasts tho.

yeah, also i wanted to watch him fight argul before anything else. i wondered if he fight argul now would be to easy though. i still think argul is the hardest boss because of it's big aoe attack
Yea man, if he doesn't do the sidebosses and arena, he has missed a huge part of the lore and RPG elements of ds2
I like how after the entire fight with Samael, he literally just has a little scratch on his face

This was a lovely journey, i’ve been in love with this kind of games ever since i played “dante’s inferno” which lead me to “devil may cry”, “god of war” and “darksiders” im attempting nightmare mode right now and it should be fine as long as i find a “health steal” weapon…
Plz try to do another episode where you find the other legendary weapons, track down the hidden areas n bosses and the crucible as well as the arbitrer’s maze… oh and the fun “gnom scythe”…
What you want on darksiders 2 weapon is execute chance.. even crucible is easy with 50% execute chance and execute heal..
Id love to see one last wrapup episode going through the optional bosses and maybe a few more episodes of the other campaigns
I am stoked for your playthrough of Darksiders 3. Just please do the DLC sidepaths to unlock extra weapons, there are some you might like.
If you realise, Samael has all the powers that the Destroyer's champions took from him from the first game

I'm so excited for Darksiders 3. i love the metroidvania world design and the upgrades. Combat is also pretty nice especially when switching forms during dodges.

But please if you plan to do the dlcs of part2 try the best mechanic in the game atleast once... posessed weapons.. it literally crafting and it so nicely done. Would be sad if you miss that. And btw you get 1 key for each chapter of the death. 4 keys for 4 zones and you dont have to complete all 4 cahpter until you can use the keys ;)

I highly recommend you playing through darksiders genesis after the third one too. the story is really great and the gameplay feels amazing with lots of cool bosses.

I wanna see you do more of the optional stuff. like the bosses you missed (argul, beithir and gorewood as the main 3, but then we also have the soul maze guy.) and ofcourse wanna see you play through the dlc's of this game, since they are really freakin good and fun as well.

If you play the alternate campaigns before going to Darksiders 3 you should also try out the Crucible, its a pretty fun arcade mode where you fight hordes of enemies which puts your build to the test. also i freaking love this game, it was fun to see you play it, Death is such a cool character
We are going to wait a really long time for the end of Darksiders (assuming there will be 4 and 5 being the end). Also, we are going to have to wait an insane amount of time for MythyMoo to play the games. For some odd reasons, homie is behind on all the fun games out there.

I can recommend playing the DLC. They might not contribute that much to the main story, but they offer some fun fights.
Hope you do the 3 DLC's, side bosses and side quests like the Crucible and Maze
I don't think he's that much of a complitionist to do them also one negative point of the game is that there isn't an item revealer like fury's embrace in 1 which makes the collectibles impossible to find without an online guide

There are sum bonus stuff left on darksiders 2 so i wouldn't mind seeing a few bonus episodes on them xD

you should try doing the bonus campaigns before moving on. like the mad smith and the tomb of argul. there is defiantly still enough content in this game for another couple of vids

The dlc bosses quests are very worth playing and they give you weapons you can use in the normal game personally I use the belial weapon all the time since I got it
Next episode you should do the extra bosses, there was a comment on a previous episode.

Once you're done with Darksiders, please do check out Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series. It's similar to Darksiders in style of combat, and I believe you will enjoy it too. Just make sure to play the Ultimate Edition of the first game that has the DLCs.

According to the lore, Death is the reason War has a metal gauntlet. He chopped off his arm. Quite plausible that he can beat Samael
Imagine if we could choose who to resurrect between war and nephilm and then like batman arkham city the game gives u another chance to do the actual ending becuase darksiders 1 would never happen if death did not save war
Well there is dlc bosses you could fight and optional bosses that you missed if you want to go after them
Sometimes playing games where you can do OP builds can be fun
It's sad that u did not fight the optional bosses during the game, now it would be too easy but if u had done it earlier with equal level you would enjoyed the deposed king(argul) boss fight.
