What the game doesn't tell you. When you have a hollow equipped, you do a stronger arcane counter by pressing the attack button for the hollow and not the one for the whip.
You will unlock more hollows as you progress. You can freely switch between them as well as unequip it, as they all have their own wrath attacks and combos. And yes, shards are op XD

Upgrading your arcane is definitely worth it, more damage on perfect dodges, charged attacks and while in havoc if I remember correctly
yeah later you can barely make any normal hit before getting spammed by attacks.

I hope you do the DLC missions, they are really cool, the Serpent Hole one especially. I'd even say the game feels incomplete without that one.

Feels incomplete without the new weapons too. And the abyssal armour. I don't know why the abyssal armour wasn't in the main game this time.

@@munky342 the game was made on a very low budget. Like 1/4 of what Darksiders 2 had, with a smaller team also(fortunately many of them were devs from the original games)
Focusing on your whip is best when it comes to upgrading weapons on a first play through each hollow will be a different weapon but you always have the whip.
İf you wanna make havoc form stronger you must give points on arcane also your special attacks will be stronger
You should upgrade arcane, it affects your conterattack damage and beast form damage
And on top of that, some weapons do amazing damage when arcane is upgraded.

Hey Myht there is a game called UNSIGHTED which is a metroidvania. It has quality boss fights, zelda like puzzles and cool tools to traverse with in the world. I think you would really like this game.

Yo Myth. I suggest you head back to Wrath fight and follow a path there. It'll help with your healing. Hopefully i didn't spoil anything but if you're gonna need that at some point before it becomes an issue later.
Also make sure to play the dlc for this one since its quite interesting and there's something in them you might love. Anyways keep it going man this series is fire
Yeah, the Void one. Forget exactly what it's called. Keepers of the Void, maybe? That's the best one. Although I think Myth might also enjoy the Crucible one. He's the right type of masochist for that one.

Lol you found a mini boss I used to miss this boss a lot in my playthroughs and come back for him when I got all 4 hollows
Since you are exploring, you better explore the DLC and get the abyssal armor, you can do this along side the main story
What this game doesn't tell you is you time your dodges as if you're parrying an attack.

Personally I held off on upgrading any of the secondary weapons until I had them all so I didn’t waste anything. That being said, that was dumb of me. You get enough materials to upgrade your secondary weapons as you go on through the game.

Yeh, shards are super powerful. The thing is of course, there's a limited supply of them in the world (at least as far as the fortification ones are concerned) and whilst Vulgrim does offer an unlimited stock, every time you buy one the price goes up.

Gluttony wasn't the hardest fight personally i found envy worst for obvious reasons second was pride for me

@@kenjisxsad5404 you should have thunder hollow use the dodge counter to destroy him. If you prefer the close quarters then dodge counter wuth flame hollow since he doesn't hang around on the floor much so best to do as much chip as possible
If you have the DLC, for every hollow Vulgrim has a side mission for an alternative weapon.
There's an enhancement called chaos that has a lifesteal ability
A good tip - if you dodge and counter an attack, the enemy will stop their attack chain

Yo Mythy don't forget to equip every weapon with a buff, you get one for each hollow and a second one when you do the Serpent Holes side-quest and the passives on each is always active.

Seeing myth do these runs on max difficulty makes me want to see him do a bl4 or sl1 run of a soulsborne game
You will not get a different primary weapon it will always be Barbs of Scorn so always upgrade that first. However be mindful of what secondary weapons and which enchancments you want to level up, you can get a lot of upgrade materials, but you have to do multipple playthroughs if you wanna max out everything.
It sounds silly but if you have the DLC, each Hollow form gives you an additional weapon.
So, without the DLC, there are 5 melee weapons.
With the DLC, there are 9 melee weapons

Hey Mythymoo, thanks for the AMAZING VIDEO my guy, let me give you a tip: Your Counter-Attack is Arcane damage. There are 2 types of counters:
1. if you dodge towards the enemy you'll do an uppercut attack
2. if you dodge in any other direction you'll do the normal counter-attack (flame hollow normal counter is OP, you should try it). There is a list of combos you can do in the menu.
I hope the devs will continue and complete the story!
Myth you definitely wanna stock up on fortification shards if you are going to fight every Warden you find. They are optional bosses that are scaled to be much stronger than the area you first find them. So either, perfect play, using shards to buff, or just waiting until you are stronger and higher level are the options to fight them. Never used shards myself, didnt know they were that strong.
You were supposed to fight the chosen yet but powered through like a champ

Myth i would reccomend to play the Void DLC alongside the main story of Darksiders 3. It gives you the Abyssal Armor as a reward, alongside different weapon forms for each hollow
The red eye enemies drop upgrade materials, so nocking them off isn’t the best idea sometimes. Also I would suggest upgrading arcane cause that’s your big form, counter damage, and wrath attacks

Just a tip. Arcane is ok to upgrade. Health is better. Strength is best. I picked this up after watching you play 1 and 2. I've been thru the first one years ago and last year just about finished 2.
Also, loving the series. You are making sure those guys suck it. Myth, as always you're a frigging legend. Keep on slapping those evil ass cheeks!
Arcane is broken for people that do the dodge attack constantly
Pro tip: The counter attack of the flame hollow is (for most enemies) by far the strongest
The best whip combo I found to use against single enemies is X (wait a second) XXX.
You should try upgrading arcane if you like to dodge counter attack a lot. It'll be worth it.
The vent crawling is to hide the area loading in, you'd think that ppl would've figured out that trick but a lot ppl never realize. Sneaky devs 🤔
I think its because game loaded so well i only noticed it due to using ps4 and having a slight frame drop as i walked though them

Gotta be careful Myth. Certain areas the difficulty spikes really high. You need more levels to go to certain places. That's why stuff 1 shots you. You have no health
Yeah the warden guys don't mess around especially on the difficulty your on I played through on normal and they hit almost as hard as they hit you
arcane is really good for counters and charge attacks!

I didn't find life steal to be that efficient in this game. There is an enhancement later on (called marauder, I think) which boosts your chances of getting extra charges on your healing item when you defeat an enemy (+30% chance at max level). It's pretty easy to farm healing off little guys with that.

QUICK INFO AND IMPROTANT TIP: The Lord of the Hollows is an Old One and he's 100% your ALLY. When the time comes to make a choice where you either fight him and do what he says, DO WHAT HE SAYS. He unlocks the true ending of darksiders 3

That flame warden is a chosen and they are not examples of artificial difficulty, they become easier to fight against with levels.

I think you never equipped that weapon enhancement. You gotta put it on your chain. Also I sugest doing the dlc as soon as you unlock a part of it. Every hollow obtained grants access to one part of the dlc

You should check out Aeterna Noctis after Darksiders 3. Its definitely worth a time for a metroidvania fan like you (and me).

Don't you have to select certain dialogue options as well? I can't remember. I think you also have to give the Lord of hollows a certain item too.

Im playing the game at the same time as you and Its really cool. But to be honest the only thing they successfully got from Dark Souls is how much combat pisses me off. Everything else is good but compared to the other games this one makes me feel like Im playing it wrong all the time. Hope it gets better as we progress. The story is a banger tho. Hope you are having fun too!

Mythymoo I don't know if you're going to see this but the way you play focusing on perfect dodges and counters you need to buff arcane into the sky because all counters (whips and y weapons) run off of arcane and the damage is STUPID
