Some people say that using a key word or string of words three times in a video's details is good for SEO, so here's 'Factorio... Krastorio?' one more time just for the robots out there!
#factorio #krastorio
Hello again folks, This sure was a thing to have done. In case you were wondering whether you had to be good at Factorio to get through Krastorio 2, now you know... I think I recommend giving it a go, but it's hard for me to say whether I enjoyed it yet...
You lot play much Factorio or is it one of those that you prefer to watch?
Also, anyone else who's gotten through Krastorio 2, what was your time?
I belive it took me around 300 hours to finish cause i played like a dumbass :)
Factorio is my favourite game ever. I'd love more of it if you're willing! Thanks for the video
@@jacksonstarbringer7972 eventually, definitely.
I think my K2 win was at around 150 hours played. But that was going full in on large rail world and researching nearly every other finite tech before hand. Im now at 300+ on that world and working towards trying to feed my 1024 singularity labs.
I'm doing a KS se run now. At 69 hours and counting.
"I'd like my life back please." -Every factorio player ever.
Help me!
No refunds!
I remember reading a heartbreaking post on the factorio subreddit from a son to his dad. It's less of a joke than we think
I currently have, hold on let me check steam, 530 hours and I am currently in an SE play through and about 80 hour in and haven’t even launched a cargo rocket and only like 5 satellite rockets, I am losing my life to Factorio. It has been about a month start I started SE.
@@Sssnipercat1 Oh my sweet summer child. That means you haven't even left the house to start your journey. Stay strong and efficient. The factory must GROW!
Factorio... oh god, I can feel the addiction returning
Yes... Let it in...
What immidiently comes to mind is Michael Scott screaming "NO" While im starting up my factory again
I've been trying to stop playing I can't
Get the space mod and your life will newer return again.
This is why no matter how many video I watch I have to avoid playing myself. Homework would never get done
There was an experiment that youtuber Michael Hendriks did, 1 pumpjack at an exhausted oil well to supply an entire mega base with the oil necessary for flamethrower turrets on deathworld setting. The result was that a single pumpjack could produce enough oil for flamethrower turrets for multiple mega bases.
So feel free to use some liquid freedom in your defense strategy, it's an even better bug killer then raid.
He even put efficiency module 1 in the single pumpjack too.
Krastorio 2 doesn't have infinite oil enabled by default.
@@vr4k497 True, but you also get coal from core fragments. Unless flamethrower efficiency was nerfed in SpaceEx then it should still be applicable long term with a refinery or two doing coal liquefaction.
@@magikarpusedsplash8881 yea but that's K2SE not K2...
@@vr4k497 ah my bad, I've only play K2SE as you may suspect
Thanks for playing Krastorio 2! I really enjoyed the video, and I'm glad that you enjoyed the mod. It's unfortunate that you ran into that ending cutscene bug, because I fixed that about a week ago. Sorry to deprive you of a satisfying biological reaction.
I have rewritten the loader snapping, so it should work OK with blueprints now.
Glad you enjoyed it. Honestly it's an incredible mod, very well put together and for me personally just the right length and complexity.
Good to hear you're on it with those bugs too of course.
Thanks for all the effort you put into this! Krastorio is a nice change from the base game when you're uncreative like me and just make the same vanilla base over and over.
I am enjoying another playthrough of Krastorio 2 right now, so thank you very much for making the mod!
"I'm going to need a lot more soon, but I'll get to it later."
Every new production facility in Factorio.
There is nothing more permanent than a temporary factory, right up until you absolutely need a completely new one on the opposite side of the base. I'll never understand how some people can plan modular bases so new stuff neatly fits into existing production lines, I'm still stuck at figuring out how to build networks for 2+ trains without them annihilating each other like they're made of matter and antimatter.
Holy spaghetti is a major part of factories. You did much better than I could.
You got yourself another subscriber.
I love how Dosh had to make a computer himself for his factorio city video and Hazzor is here like "haha, supply depot go brrr".
Awesome video. So glad more creators are adopting this format for factorio content. It really is the best way to make a playthrough.
I came for Rimworld, but i stay for Hazzor. You are really nice to watch and with that style, all games are good.
Thanks, appreciate that. I am trying to cook up a fun Rimworld playthrough again soon
@@HazzorPlaysGames I would love to see CE again and CAI 5000. A bit more of a fight
@@micheloi4128 I never play without CE at this point but what's CAI?
@@HazzorPlaysGames a try without a link
It is a Ai Mod, more tactical thinking and even little traps by raiders
and for of War.
In short
mod is only on "github" and not steam
Ah yes, rare speciment of interesting factorio video. Great job mate.
Many thanks!
Check out DoshDonington if you want other interesting Factorio videos. He reminds me of Hazza
@@T-tb8ho It's "Doshington"
@@DoshDoshington the man himself
Dondonington.
I remember the reason Loaders were abandoned was because they couldn't have dynamic limits for items and therefor could end up holding hundreds of thousands of items leaving you wondering "Where did all my production go?"
Yeah this definitely earned a subscription. I cant fathom 98% of what you did in this. I love playing factorio for about an hour before I can’t stand it anymore. Well done sir.
I quickly realized that going for the optimal base building strategies, with those long spacious main busses and city blocks is just too unfulfilling, makes me feel like doing some actual work instead of playing the game. The main culprit was the Rampant mod, which forced me to build a pretty small and heavily fortified base due to the constant biters attacks, which meant that space was precious, and at least a little bit of spaghetti was just necessary. Thanks to that and multiple rebuilds, moving stuff around, looking for a creative ways to solve simple problems etc. the end result was somewhat messy, but also much more interesting base layout.
I have 0 hours in factorial but for some odd reason I do really enjoy watching people play it. You joking around throughout the video I rather enjoyed, can’t wait to see what game you’ll play next.
Highly recommend Factorio! Just set an alarm to go bed instead of staying up to hear the morning one, on a Monday
The factory must grow
0:48 A prayer to the Factorio gods, as is appropriate in any undertaking as grand as this.
27:50 "Raw dogging the filthy ore" might be one of my favorite things I've ever heard in a factorio video lol.
Damn i forgot i wrote that part, yeah a high point for sure, thanks
I am quite loving this channel, the mix of informative commentary mixed with "these are my mistakes, im living with them and so are you now" with a lovely heaping of humor with your delivery makes this all too fun to watch. Thankee for your sacrifice of lifeforce to produce this video
Dude your videos are always the best! Your channel is going to absolutely explode soon, I can feel it. Good content has a way of rising to her surface.
Thanks for the video! It's brilliant as always.
I've been watching you since the Songs of Syx video and I was surprised when I saw the K2 video. It's good to see that K2 is still alive.
I have played and finished K2 too (Dosh was the inspiration). Its probably the best overhaul mod for someone who has never played one before. Great video. keep up the good work :)
This video was awesome. I've never actually beaten Krastorio (or Factorio for that matter), but I love that you just threw your own approach at the game. I know you probably used some people's blueprints from time to time, but I love watching people create their own factory designs. It puts your style in the game and it shows how you think about logistical issues. Amazing video and I love that you beat it even while using your own made up designs which people often are too scared to even attempt :)
The Matt Berry impression was spot on, now....time for bed.
Love your content chief!
I'm curious whether you usually record in one big long setting or save clips as you go?
Thanks, I record the whole thing, 1.1TB this time
@@HazzorPlaysGames ouch!
Thank you so much
Must be a pain to edit down too 😅
I found your channel through Rimworld so i was pleasantly surprised to see you play Factorio too.
I would love to see more of it if you can find interesting challenges or mods to play with.
While everyone knows Seablock from Dosh's amazing series on it, Normal Angels/Bobs is plenty hard in its own right, ajd theres always Space Exploration. (I dont know how much I'd have to be paid to combine the two...)
Loce your narration and writing style so I'll definitely be sticking around for a while ❤
edit1: Dosh's train guid is a great place to start for learning how powerful they can be.
I personally cant play without the Logistic Train Network (LTN), which lets you park trains in depots and the stations can request a train to deliver goods from orovider stations to requester stations.
Super fun to use, and VERY modular so its a breeze to expand if you need more trains.
I mean this in the most posotive way possible: it's very refreshing to see gameplay from someone with a similar experience level to my own
Finally someone equally unable to be willing to learn trains. They frighten me, signals frighten me, people who understand them frighten me.
Very quickly became my favorite RUclipsr love your videos
Starting out I also use massive looping ammo belts for my walls, Machine Gun turrets actually scale pretty well into vanilla late game with shooting speed and bullet damage research. Eventually when I have a logistic network set up I simply disconnect the long ass belt from ammo factory and set up provider and requester chests between ammo production and each wall segment, then dump the surplus ammo into the requester chests with the most alien activity. Not sure if it's even close to the most optimal way to play, but it's worked for me even after launching 100+ rockets in my current save!
Sometimes the fun way is not the optimal way, and that's okay. If it works, it works!
I mean at least you did it. I gave up my save upon reaching blue science then decided that my main bus is garbage and that its better to just make a city block base powered by trains, my cities were full of 4 way intersections. Was halfway to making it and realised that I also need to get stuff to get enriched metals and just decided to go 'nah'. One of the biggest reasons for giving up was the mall I saw on factorio prints, like holy hell that is long.
Funnily enough using AAI industry made start easier - didn't need to suffer with terrible wind energy and just went from using burners directly to steam.
Inserters being able to put in near side of belt also comes from Schall's inserters.
Ammo belt is best practice since having inserters take from another turret in conga line is just asking to run out of ammo.
One year later. Congratulations you introduced me to doshdoshington channel and I'm a fanatic.
Honestly, this is really one of the best up and coming channels on RUclips. Glad that I was able to discover it.
Thanks, I appreciate that
Recently subscribed and really enjoying the presentation, editing and humour in your videos.
You are quite similar to "Ahoy" with how you create your content and I rate that as top notch ✌🏼
10:25 this is THE quintessential beginner style of play and it is absolutely adorable
I've never seen a Factorio run presented like this. Very nice, and a good watch.
for fueling cars and such, there is a fuel processor you can make early on that lets you essentially condense solid fuels such as coal and wood into processed fuel, which can run in any motor vehicle and anything that need fuels, more efficient and less pollution to boot
I absolutely love this. this reminds me of when I had 100 hours and you're excellent at explaining your thought process as you play
This game is quite a headache to understand but super interesting to know of, material made and other stuff, my inner engineering mood rising hard on this.
Other games like this are Satisfactory and Dyson Sphere Program, if you like Factorio you will like these too
I've actually got a video talking about how I don't love satisfactory.
DSP is ok but I played it very early on and didn't get very deep into it.
@@HazzorPlaysGames they will be adding combat to DSP supposedly some time this year - however as usual with Factorybuilders, the game only "starts up properly" when you start the production lines to build your first Dysonswarm or Dysonsphere. So i would say thats about as far as i would recommend going for a video, everything beyond that is probably not worth the effort, it would just be doing the same all over with diminishing returns until you filled the entire cluster with Dysonspheres
You haven't seen savage until you've seen me play: Resource drones and networks? Trains? Modules? What are those? Fun video.
The wall of laser & machine guns is how I normally play.
I appreciate the Rimworld music near the end of the video. Factorio could definitely do with some upgraded musical options.
**39h in** "Look's like we're closing in on 2h of playtime" Proof that Factorio bends time
I just looked at my "finished" Krastorio run. I played it with 3 other people, there are different bases doing differnt things stealing of resources, with belts, from one base to another one centrilized research base to which are the card/sicence delivered ... also by belts, and its full of stupid and maybe little rasistic messages made from fake islands, concrete and one time wind power turbines, the starting generator is still at it's place just for lulz, and once saved ourbase from blackout, there is train but only for lulz and manual artilery strikes..... it is over 50 hours.
So you still did it better than 4 "autists".
Good job, I'll go back to Space exploration... it is already more than 50 hours and we got only to orbit.
Wooot! New video! Lets go! My morning is so much better now
Turret walls with belts are good, just add flame turrets as soon as you can!
the C in seablock stands for suffering
oh no.
The B is for beans?
>mentions doshdoshington
I see you are a man of culture as well
Trains are simple
Before an intersection : chain signal
After the intersection : rail signal
If there's another intersection in front of the first intersection : chain signal
I enjoyed the self deprecating humor. It's how I play games all the time.
Okay, so I was listening to this as I was playing RimWorld. It's 2:12 as I write this, so I'm a little bit sleepy and I was lying on my bed hugging my blahaj and drifting off to semi-sleep when I heard the RimWorld raid alarm. Allow me to recount my exact thought process:
"Oh, a raid! Shit!--wait, it's probably from Hazzor's video... _wait, this isn't a RimWorld video!"_
After beating Krastorio, I wondered whether you could replace out the entire need for mining, refining and smelting by using the matter conversion to turn something infinite (like wood) into the base ingredients you need to make things. Like, instead of a train network shipping in the ore from mining outposts, you have a huge swathe of greenhouses pumping out wood, which is converted to matter. I haven't done it, I value my sanity, but it'd be quite the challenge.
looping ammo belts around your base are the way to go imo, its easy to expand and makes refilling easy
1:10. Looks over at his Krastorio 2 + Space Exploration save nervously...
This is fine.
the quantum matter stuff reminded me personally of the factory mod for rimworld. That lets you, among other things, transform enemy raider corpses into emc cubes which can then be in turn transformed into just about any basic resource imaginable, and a significant number of high level resources too. My personal system however relied on mining stone chunks up from the ground and harvesting them into emc cubes for their high mass and ease of access. The only real balance on this system, if you can call it that, is that the conversion process could be configured to take only a few seconds and consume tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of emc cubes per second; or only consume a few hundred to a few thousand emc and take upwards of a quadrum or longer.
10:30 ammo belt? yes. A looped ammo belt? usually not.
The factory must grow!
this video definitely deserved more views
hopefully the algorithm picks up on it one day
35:00 just casually venting chemical weapons into the air, no wonder the Biters are so grouchy 😂
But as I say in my Rimworld play-throughs: ain't no OSHA/CSB/ICJ in space 🤷♂️
I'm coming to the party late I know, but I needed to comment on how I nearly choked to death on food. The catalyst what Chad Kroeger passionately asking me to look at the graph he had made like he's a 5 year old. Well done
43:35 We've lost him, boys. He's gone now.
(Sad kazoo eulogy)
I don't play factorio, but I do watch Dosh's videos. So thank you kindly for the warning in the beginning.
As someone who’s bad at factory building games I feel like this factory was pretty good who needs efficiency if it gets the job done eventually
"Not using much lube in this playthrough."
Hazz you absolute evil bastard. How could you?!
honestly i thought that that ending where it said "this is Krastorio" was where the real modded experience BEGINS
You did awesome! You played with the true factorio spirit
2:22 "WE GET REEAAAAAL DIRTY OUT HERE!"
31:50 Make my day :D Great story and nice factory!
Damn that transport drones mod looking good, will love to add it to my already mining drones. Love these kind of things
Klonan made both, so they’re designed to work together. The mining depots can be stuck on a road network like any other.
I used to Mighty Jingles, but now I Hazzor
I absolutely love the little trucks
There are 2 versions of Mining Drones - Rebalanced and the one you picked seems to have been a troll version(made unbalanced on purpose) while keeping the same name as the original rebalanced version which might explain why you believe them to be so OP
Wellp. The grass got Hazzor. Right when his channel was picking up too.
now ur gonna spend 400 hours doing space exploration
then another 500 doing space exploration + krastorio 2
then the real fun begins with pyanodon with alien life :)
also would highly recommend bob's adjustable inserters, fun and useful
Always need those inserters.
20 minutes in, holy shit, I thought I was a unique dunce, but you nailed my problem right on the head.
Jeepers..... I got hungry watching this, also thanks for the idea for what to make for dinner tonight.... I got a craving for spaghetti
Laughed so hard on the Nickelback graph clip.
Hey loved the video, in case you didn't know you can use inserters to take ammo between gun turrets directly instead of making a massive ammo belt, save those belts for some tasty spaghetti somewhere else!
I need a mod list just for the intro zoom alone. Sauce my good man
Added it to the description now.
@@HazzorPlaysGames Thank you!
im playing bobs and angels without bobs intermediates but even so its just pain. I spend so much time either looking at the helmod planner or running around gathering items to build stuff. Tried organizing stuff with factorissimo and it went amazing up to the second, then it became absolute pasta.i just got into steel and yellow belts/splitters/tunnels, being gray belts the ones you start with
watching this made me reconsider our strategy, im doing a 3 man K2 run and we are at hour 100 and just got to matter conversion... what are we doing wrong :)
What a great video you made.
It's very refreshing to see a bigger Factorio video that is made by someone who doesn't do everything perfectly and more like I play it, messy lol
Mining drones are pretty OP. They eat pollution to such an extent that near the mines there was no pollution on my worlds
Awooga
Most awooga indeed, most definitely awooga...
One video more close to the second part of the Starsector series
amazing watch, i will be honest though, it hurt every time i saw speed modules in the blue chip assemblers. ouch
crazy! played a overhaul mod with only 100 hours in and haven't even touch trains! I hope you have fun i guess xD 👍
dont feel bad, my first playthrough of factorio i got an achievement for not using bots. i didnt realize what they were at the time. it was..... painful.
My first factory without cheat mods and /cheatmode in console(i changed settings for better gameplay) ~50h gameplay:italian friend
My new 4h base: good baze, not spaghetti, automated VERY GOOD green and red science (but not enough iron sadly), better result in RAILWORLD with changed setings AGAN
Mama mia! You are hilarious! Keep up the great work!
Thank you, I will do my best.
honestly quite incredible
Krastorio 2 is something I've kind of avoided for dread reasons; I've played Space Exploration, I know how insane this shit can get. I'm very happy to find out that, actually, Krastorio 2 is a lot more reasonable than Space Exploration for the most part. I might have to try it out sometime!
When my brain actually feels like playing Factorio, that is. Unfortunately, the mood comes and goes, and I have no say in the matter.
Nice, can't wait for your Angel's & Bob's run *wink wink*
Thanks for Inspiring me again.
I enjoyed watching, gj !
i´ve recently started an round with . AAI industry, Krastorio2 and Space exploration all in one. and i´ve only got a total of 600-900 hours of playtime.
While watching this video I can hear it calling me... Asking me to return to Nauvis... I can't... I can't do it again..
Aye the EE mod reference, fun fact theres a mpdern day port of it called ProjectE thats mostly the same and very fun
Its amazes me that you know how to automate trucks but cannot figure out trains lol
I'm sure i can figure out trains, I just never have. Literally never placed a track
I don't think there will be a time where my brain doesn't think Krastorio and Space Exploration are the same mod.
