Suggestion from a cat (and multiple Maine Coon cats) owner: Most inexpensive, most entertaining -and lasts for hours of playtime toy: Take a piece of aluminum foil, roll it into a ball, roll it on the floor…PRESTO! Your cat will run around batting it with its paw…retrieving it…wanting you to throw it for a game with you! Hours of fun and exercise! Enjoy! ✨🐱✨
I can heartily recommend bottle lids (especially big milk bottle ones) and corks! My Maine Coons go absolutely mad for both of these things 😺 I also bought a pack of 12 colourful plastic springs for a couple of quid after seeing them recommended by another MC owner - SO MANY HOURS of fun! They seem to be the perfect size and weight to be batted around in a satisfying way, picked up and carried in their mouths (I love the way they’ll sometimes use a paw to adjust the positioning once it’s already in their mouth! 😻), and I think something about the unpredictability of how they bounce off stuff is what makes them endlessly fascinating! I generally only have one or maybe two springs “in play” at any time, but it’s good to have so many spares for when they get lost or stuck, as well as keeping one on hand when I’m at work so I can throw it in the other direction as a distraction technique if I’m trying to have a Zoom meeting while they’re zooming 😸

The decision to get a cat was actually pretty spontaneous 😅 But we pulled everything together quickly to make sure we were fully prepared! You're so right... It's great fun isn't it?! Always exciting bringing a new addition into the family! 🥰

Rescued a pair that were better than tv for years.. unfortunately the wee boy had cancer and died at 2 and the wee girl has never gotten over loosing him.. this wee man hopefully has a long happy life ahead of him… he’s going to be a BIG boy!!

Cats understand death. They don't understand missing. If this ever happens again, bring the dead cat home and let the live one smell it. When done, take it back to the vet for cremation (or whatever final plans you have). I've always had two cats. Since I started doing this I've never seen that grief the remaining cat may have. [sigh]

This kitty looks exactly like my Maine Coon when it was little. It was a little gray tabby puffball. As it grew into an adult it turned into a brown tabby. Very pretty.

@@totallypurrfectx I’m really struggling with the logistics of how to take mine for walks or on adventures, because there’s two of them and one of me! So this is definitely a fair point I think. I think I’ll have to make one of them miserable by leaving them at home on their own each time 😿 I’m falling far behind where I wanted to be with their training and adventures because I haven’t even got them harnesses yet (one of them is super wriggly and just measuring them is super difficult! 😬), and I’ve had them for 6 months now. I work from home and live in a flat, and had intended on only getting one, but I fell in love with my intended girlkitten’s brother as well, and all the reasoning for getting two that I’d been hearing came back around and ended up being how I justified getting two after all 😅 They’ve definitely been a handful at times, but I adore them both and am glad they have each other for company and to burn off some of the limitless energy! 😹

Oh, so precious! Makes me nostalgic for my MC boy's babyhood. He's 5 now and a big boy, but still loves to play. And yes, he a typical MC... always near me, always sleeps with me, and chirps and trills at me all the time!
I had a little Maine Coon that was always on the go. He was a beautiful cat and when I adopted him from our high kill shelter I thought he was a full grown cat and not just a kitten. As much as I hated to have to let him go after a while his antics just started getting the better of my senior cats and when he started jumping on them trying to get them to play I knew I had to do something. Luckily there was a couple that had a similar cat that was becoming lethargic because he was lonely being left alone as they went to work. He solved that problem very quickly. Now his is a full grown BIG purr baby and they love him to pieces. It's never dull in their house with both cats always on the move playing together. As much as I hated to have to let him go it was the right thing to do.

We've had many cats come and go in our home but our Maine Coon Jinxy was the absolute BEST. She was so above all the cat stuff, she played fetch, loved water and remained playful until the day she died in my arms. I cried like a little kid for 3 days......

You're in for such a treat. Maine Coon's are so darling. I've had two part Maine Coon cats. Both inherited the Maine Coon size. Only one inherited the gentle, affectionate nature. (The other was entertainingly grumpy.)
We lost our girl, Zoe at 14 yrs old and her sister, Mimi is almost 17 and is slowing own now. I’d love to get another cat but don’t want Mimi to think she’s being replaced.
Our new kitten had to get right up to the monitor during this video to see Cody better, then tried to play with the feather toy, too! He's about the same age it looks like.

I’ve just come across this video, and your channel name does not lie! What an absolutely purrfect kitten 😻 I have a black/brown tabby named Nikita, who doesn’t have much actual brown and her stripes are more a creamy biscuity light colour (along with a fully creamy belly!), and a big ginger tabby boy called Harvey (who’s currently asleep on my desk chair and stopping me from doing any work 😂) I love the blue tabby colouring too 😻 Mine had both a blue tabby brother and a sister who look basically identical to Cody (I don’t think their ages quite match, but if by some chance Cody was actually born in Feb and his original kitten name was Bart, PLEASE let me know! 😺), and in the long process of me researching and preparing to get a kitten, I fell in love with several blue/blue and white tabbies, as well as a few silver tabbies - so many beautiful cats! 😻 I’m going to enjoy watching all of your videos and getting to know Cody! 😽
I would consider a high shelf for him; he seems like a cat that likes high places. Maine Coons are fabulous cats, and he looks like he will be BIG>!!!!!!!!

That's one lucky kitten. Having had a Himalayan, tho, I can suggest to you that, in order to keep your kitten from developing knots/clumps in his fur, use a regular fine-toothed comb on your kitten, not any of the brushes, etc., they make for cats...they just won't keep the fur from clumping.
Wow. It didn't take him long to adapt. Out of his carrier in 10 seconds and started playing immediately. Most kittens are frightened when arriving at their new home and take some time to emerge from their carrier let alone start playing. This guy is full of energy. But I think the video would have been better without the loud distracting music.

I love him. I lost our baby (15 years old) last year on Christmas Day. We have talked about getting a new baby but we just aren’t ready. He wasn’t a pet, he was family. 😢 our 25# white coon baby boy

You're in for such a treat. Maine Coon's are so darling. I've had two part Maine Coon cats. Both inherited the Maine Coon size. Only one inherited the gentle, affectionate nature. (The other was entertainingly grumpy.)

Our new kitten had to get right up to the monitor during this video to see Cody better, then tried to play with the feather toy, too! He's about the same age it looks like.

I’ve just come across this video, and your channel name does not lie! What an absolutely purrfect kitten 😻
I have a black/brown tabby named Nikita, who doesn’t have much actual brown and her stripes are more a creamy biscuity light colour (along with a fully creamy belly!), and a big ginger tabby boy called Harvey (who’s currently asleep on my desk chair and stopping me from doing any work 😂)
I love the blue tabby colouring too 😻 Mine had both a blue tabby brother and a sister who look basically identical to Cody (I don’t think their ages quite match, but if by some chance Cody was actually born in Feb and his original kitten name was Bart, PLEASE let me know! 😺), and in the long process of me researching and preparing to get a kitten, I fell in love with several blue/blue and white tabbies, as well as a few silver tabbies - so many beautiful cats! 😻

That's one lucky kitten. Having had a Himalayan, tho, I can suggest to you that, in order to keep your kitten from developing knots/clumps in his fur, use a regular fine-toothed comb on your kitten, not any of the brushes, etc., they make for cats...they just won't keep the fur from clumping.

Wow. It didn't take him long to adapt. Out of his carrier in 10 seconds and started playing immediately. Most kittens are frightened when arriving at their new home and take some time to emerge from their carrier let alone start playing. This guy is full of energy. But I think the video would have been better without the loud distracting music.

So I think he may have been SLIGHTLY on his best behaviour to begin with 😉 He's still such a good boy the majority of the time though. They're certainly characters, cats, aren't they? 😊
