I cannot stress enough how you just saved my life and made me less anxious about my solo South America trip happening in 3 weeks! You've been really helpful with all these videos you have posted!
This is wonderful Christianne! I am planning a trip next year and this is all the inspo I need. I have not returned to my country of origin in a long time. Thank you for this.
I've been stealth watching your videos for years but this video (which I just stumbled upon now for some reason) convinced me to subscribe! What a freaking gem of a guide! Keep up the good work and congrats on your new apartment!!
Amazing and very informative guide 👍 you should be sponsored by the local tourist board for all the hard work of promoting the region. Great job 👏 and what a fantastic place to visit.
I absolutely loved Peru, but the altitude sickness in Cusco was brutal. Not being able to sleep or breathe properly has sadly put me off going to certain countries in that part of the world. I'll just experience them through your videos 🙂
Just landed back in London after a week in Cusco. Thanks for much for the recommendations! I stayed at the Nao Victoria and did the Salkantay. Loved the dinner at Morena 😍
I should be in Cusco right now! But had to turn back to Lima after waiting by a road blockage for 15h on the way to Arequipa 😭😭 your very lucky you just managed to get on before it all started, I have to fly home from Peru having only seen Lima and huacachina :(
Yayyy this is perfect, I have a trip planned for end of next month! Unfortunately, there’s civil unrest going on, hopefully I can put this guide to use soon!
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
Omg how I love your videos, I have just discovered your vlogs and you are so inspiring! Thank you! I found as I am researching a solo trip from iquitos to colombia and home from panama. It's a very last minute decision but I hope to leave somewhere at the beginning of February, I'd love to hear about your iquitos leg of your journey. Who knows we could cross paths one day! I find you very inspiring, I haven't travelled properly for years but now my kids are up I am ready to go on another adventure, I'm from Belfast but I speak fluent Spanish, your journey is amazing and I love your guts and enthusiasm !
I have started binge watching you videos in the last week or so. You have persuaded me to move to Australia in the summer as opposed to November/December next year, when I had originally planned. I love your content and I cant wait to travel around South and Central America because of you. Big ups from Ireland. If you ever come back to Ireland, you should visit the west coast 👌 id be happy to give you a tour, if you're up for it 🥰
That altitude would get me for sure! You do look quite knackered on some of those hikes...or were you hungover? lol Food looks delicious, with the exception of the guinea pig. You're the only one i know that would eat that then go to a vegan restaurant! Peru still looking amazing...
Hey, i just saw your video and it’s in deed the best explanatory video that i have seen about Peru and getting to know Cusco. I am a spanish native language. I send it to my wife because we’d like to visit next year. She was also astonished of the quality and the level of explanation, but she doesn’t speak english. I tried the CC’s but they were also in english. I was wondering if i can collaborate with you and translate this to spanish, so this video can get to many more people. Hit me up if this is something you’d be interested in! Again, thanks for such a great video.
Hello Christianne, thank you for this great travel guide! I love it!!! I’m thinking about traveling to Peru next year and have started to think about which wear and gear I still have to buy for this trip. If you could make a video (or maybe comment here?) about what things (wear and gear) you actually used from your packed things and what you recommend to definitely bring (at least) for a backpacking trip to Peru, that would be really awesome. I’m a minimalist packer and I don’t want to pack too much stuff yet all the things needed. It’s going to be my first trip to a mountain area and I’m somewhat really lost regarding wear and gear. If anyone else reading this has any recommendations, I‘m super thankful for any advice as well. Regards and love from snowy & christmassy Germany
Hello Christianne! Addicted to your vlogs! Quick check - Are you in Cusco now ? How is the situation now ? Is it safe to travel there now ? Thank you ❤
Have been following your videos to plan a trip to Peru. Would you be able to recommend were to leave your stuff when you are hiking for 4 days. Carrying a laptop, what a safe option to leave it or take it along ?
Hey! Think you mentioned you had Hoka shoes - which ones do you have? Do you recommend them? Trying to decide which shoes to use for South America! For all the trails!
Hi! I ordered from your Solo shop well over a month ago and haven't received any updates about my order. I've emailed the provided email address in the confirmation and it came back saying it was no longer valid and I tried the email on your website and Instagram accounts and never got a response. Would love to hear back from somebody about what is happening. Thanks!
Oh I’m so sorry to hear this Jess! The new contact email is solo@backpackingbananas.com Sometimes emails do go into spam so I’ll get the team to double check this for you xx
I love guinea pigs...the idea of eating them is the same as eating my dog..it's just so twisted to think about this is the only part that would put me off peru
It’s an interesting concept- but think for example in India we wouldn’t dream of eating cows, but here in the UK it’s completely normal. They are all animals at the end of the day I don’t think one is weirder than the other
Hi, didn't you check the news before posting? Peru is in a state of emergency and traveling to Peru is highly not recommended. I would advise you to remove the video immediately and repost it when the situation calms down again.
Of course I am aware of the news. I just left Peru myself. This video is designed to help people plan their trips for the future. It is the viewers own responsibility to assess current travel conditions as to when they travel themselves. What you’re suggesting is like asking every RUclipsr to remove every video of Peru on the internet just because you can’t travel there right now which is a bit ridig don’t you think? 🥱
@@BackpackingBananas I don't agree with your comments but it's of course up to you. You post a video just last day as if you just left or maybe still there. This gives your watchers the impression that all is safe there. At the moment it's not even possible to reach Aguas Caliente from Cusco as the train services are down so people will get trapped. Older videos won't have the same effect.

November 😊

You sounded so American when you said amenities, the Brit pronouncation is A-meen -a- teas and the Yanks say A men a teas LOL
Haha I didn’t even know this 😅
Christianne! Did boarder officials ask you for your yellow fever vaccine/did you need to get it before leaving??
Nope
